HIGHLIGHTS BP 20/21 - Modern Art Orchestra feat. Márton Fenyvesi at Jedermann

This is the new episode of our online concert series HIGHLIGHTS BP 20/21. In this series we show you Budapest's iconic jazz scenes. This time we bring you contemporary jazz compositions from Jedermann.
The goal of the concert series of the Modern Art Orchestra (MAO) is to introduce Budapest’s emblematic jazz clubs that had to stay closed and were empty during the pandemic. The MAO would like to fill these scenes with music where the greatest international and Hungarian jazz artists have been performing in the last decades.
Modern Art Orchestra features contemporary jazz pieces in a big band setting. Every concert’s setlist has compositions that were written under the pandemic period. There are also interviews in the concert videos with the founders, the owners, the art managers and the technical staff who talk about the history of the clubs and about how they live through this difficult situation caused by the virus. The composers of the featured pieces also appear and give interviews in the concert video.
Our audience can watch the live recording from Jedermann taken on 16th May 2021 in the now presented third episode of the concert series.

Márton Fenyvesi brought his pieces to Jedermann that were composed earlier and had already been played years ago by MAO when the composer and guitarist was a member of the orchestra. This time it was a very exciting cooperation for Márton to re-interpret his pieces in collaboration with MAO.
The video features a premiere also. Attila Korb’s piece , the Playtime was written during the pandemic and brings a happy and fresh approach in jazz waltz genre to tonight’s setlist.
Kristóf Bacsó’s composition titled Aleil will be also a part of the show.
