Just found your reactions because I always search for Blue October reactions. Everyone should experience the power of Justin Furstenfeld. Love what you had to say. This is hands down my favorite song, I still remember the first time hearing it and how I felt and it changed my life. As some of the other comments said, you NEED to watch his live acoustic version...it will leave you speechless
Bro, you nailed the reaction on this one. I have told so many people how authentic Blue October is and Justin’s ability to wear his heart on his sleeve! The raw emotion he exudes is beyond belief sometimes. Great job man!
I LOVE your reaction to this. I can tell you feel the feels. That's why I'm here. I love that you resonate with this. I use this song with my patients struggling with mental health issues. People who think the world would be better off without them. I play the video; I play the song. My next move is to show THESE videos of people's reactions BECAUSE people share their own experiences of how they relate to this song and message AND are just as real as Justin is in singing/performing the song. I love you man!!!! NOT Just because you love the part that others mock "I...I....I.....I..." Also .... you said earthquake vibes; and from what I read in the comments of another reaction, those waves were that way BECAUSE of an earthquake! eeeee I liked and subscribed.
I just love your reaction. It is such a great song. All I could think was you need to see Blue October live. There's no comparison. Literally none! Best wishes to you!
You feel right dude...that is the gift that Justin and Blue October gives to people everywhere that can relate to his experiences and struggles. Feel it!
Hard core Blue fan here. Watching you react to this on a big screen TV instead of a computer was awesome. I could see you close your eyes and get the vibe and the message that Justin is sending. Welcome to the Blue family!! Hopefully see you at a concert soon!
Justin is the most real, genuine human being you will ever meet. If you ever get a chance, GO to one of his Open Book Tour concerts, just him and his guitar. He talks about his life, his writing, music, mental health issues, whatever comes to his mind. It's so RAW and amazing. I've been to several, and it's worth the price of the ticket many times over. If you can, do the meet and greet. He LOVES hearing from his fans, especially when you can tell him how his music effects you. I was blessed to spend over an hour with him (just him, me and my 3 sisters, and my mom) at a coffee 'date' my sister won on the radio, and he's just so darned NICE, and wants to know all about you when you talk.
you are the best! love this song and video and YOUR reaction Mark! this is my best friend of 25 years and man doing this proves you are not only smart but super cool!
This is the first video I’ve watched of yours, and honestly it’s because I love watching reactions of Blue October songs. They’re my all time favorite group for obvious reasons. 😃 Fear is one of my favorite songs EVER. I think everyone can relate to this song in one form or another. He feels this song cause he lived his words. You were discussing your fears and the lousy opinions that viewers want to rudely and disrespectfully create strife with. I hope that you don’t take any of that personally because there’s always going to be haters for no reason at all. It’s sad for them cause they somehow feel better attacking people they don’t even know. I personally loved your take and views on this song and the lyrics. Your appreciation for Blue October is organic and right on. What you said about Moses and parting the sea gave me chills, I loved that analogy!! Keep doing what your doing cause it’s obvious you love what you do. 💕💕💕
Hey man, I really dig your energy and appreciate that you opened up about your personal fears. I mirror that sentiment and thought it was cool for you to share that and contextualize the song in a similar way that I do. Great reaction. Salute to you.
Huge fan of Blue, amazing show, if you ever get a chance jump on it!!! Amazing to see people appreciate all that Blue October offers!!! In my family mental illness was not acknowledged. Blue October gave me a voice. Thank you for loving them!!! Chameleon Boy if I had to say I had a favorite, My Never another one. Lol I could keep going.
I love this so much! Blue October is my favorite band and I love seeing Justin touch another person’s soul the way he has mine. I had the opportunity to visit the beach where this video was shot in So Cal just last week. I could feel his spirit there with me. I was abandoned too so I empathize all too well with you there. It’s an impossible choice between Hate Me and Fear because they are so different. Hate Me introduced me to Blue 15 years ago when I was still drinking and angry. Fear is now one of my go to anthems of strength. I really enjoyed this! 💙
I only discovered Justin Furstenfeld and Blue October a couple of months ago. As a reaction to the song, what you said is right on the numbers. This was the first song I heard him perform. My friend Donna played it for me and instantly I was hooked. JUSTIN'S VOICE IS NOT JUST POWERFUL, HE also has crystal clear diction.my hearing is poor and I often have to look up lyrics. Justin is that rare individual who's vocal range could very easily find a place in Opera....but thank God it isn't. This is the medium for Justin's incredible story. How he beat his own demons. He is the patron Saint of bipolar sufferers and self Harmer. Check out his amazing inspirational story. If you're struggling right now, try to resist cutting, listen to this and GET BACK UP God bless you Justin and roll on next March when I see you live
Very good review. Justin would love it. I have had the pleasure spending time with him on a few occasions. He is a genuinely wonderful man who is humbled and so grateful for his fans. Please keep up the good work. You do a great job discussing the content. Peace my friend
I'm so happy you enjoyed that. Such a crazy powerful song! It's off the album "Sway" which is an incredible album. Whenever you get back to them check out "Bleed Out"... another very powerful song.
L💙ved for reaction.. I've seen them several times in concert and the very first time I heard this song Live it was impossible not to get emotional. He pours his heart and soul out at every concert and you can definitely feel his emotions 💙💙💙
About what you feel is better...that is what music is about, what his music is about, what you feel from each song. Hate Me is the first song my wife and I heard from them, and he just keeps raising the bar.
Subscribed! Could not agree with you more. Hate me is a beautiful song, but it is part one. This is the rebirth, it is his part two. Look forward to listening to more songs with you, you obviously have good taste as a blue fan! 😊
I've been filing Blue October for a very long time I'm 53 years old when they first came out no one listened to that type of music no one start from his beginning albums it gets into quite deep anger trying to get away from drugs crazy people relationship problems if you need this man's whole story of his life it's just as exhausting as mine
You asked us which is better, Hate Me or this song, Fear. In my opinion, there is no comparison. Each is written with a different part of his soul to express a different emotion and chapter in his life. They are each masterpieces for the stories they are telling and the emotions they are triggering. Great reaction, Sir. Thank you. 😊
Truly inspirational song. Ends with prayer.. Breathe, ask for more, if you're bitter still, ask Him to help you carry on. So many great songs with such feeling! My Never is a less popular song that I find really moving. I call it the rockingist slow song.
Welcome to the Blue Family. My life song. Justin has said that this is his favorite song. He has said he had no clue this song was inside of him. Watch his documentary Get Back Up. It's on Prime as well as on their own channel called Getbackup.tv. P.S. You strike me as an intelligent guy. 💙
Blue October is my favorite band, this is a powerful song and you should really check out their youtube and know he is real and has gone through stuff. There really isn't any music like theirs out there. thanks for doing this love your reaction.
I don't know you, but I can tell you're not a stupid guy, so don't worry about what haters tell you. I have a few thoughts about "Fear" vs "Hate Me." Like you, I come from a bad childhood. My birth mother is mentally ill and refuses to admit it and therefore never seeked help for her issues. Instead she took it out on my sister and I. All the shit she did to me as a kid led to an eventual diagnosis of bipolar disorder and ADHD when I was 16, after I intentionally drug overdosed and was court ordered into a psychiatric facility. When I was released, I'd spend the next 12 years as a drug addict and heavy drinker. That was my way of self-medicating the mental health issues and just trying to silence what was in my head. Little did I realize at the time that I was making things worse for myself and for the people I loved. After several overdoses and two suicide attempts, my addictions and my mental health issues had finally broken me and I found myself at the lowest point a person could be at. I'd eventually fought my own mind to break free of the things that were killing me. When I listen to "Hate Me", those lyrics take me back to my addictions and how selfish I was, and they remind me of my aunt who'd always tried to be there for me and help me straighten out my life. Then when I hear "Fear", it's like listening to my mind manifested in a song, and it's spot on in regards to not letting yourself give into the fears and shadows that have held you down for so long, and learning how to not let your demons win. They are both amazing songs; equally amazing, just in different ways and they can speak to you on different levels. I relate to Justin immensely because he, too, was an addict and has bipolar disorder, so his lyrics and struggles hit me on a personal level. Guess that's all I really have to say. Keep doing your reactions, man. You've got a new subscriber here.
I love your reaction to this song. The timing of the waves are just awesome. You can't time that stuff!!!! Love me some BLUE OCTOBER!!!!!!! Please react to home and I hope you're HAPPY. Oh there was an earthquake that morning which caused those waves.
"Hate Me" is great, as are "Worry List," "Home," and most of his other music. But this song right here? It is absolutely his best. In my opinion, of course - others can (and probably do) disagree.
Yes I know both my biological mom and dad. I was abandoned by my mom when I was about 2 to 3 months old. I was with my great grandmother from then up until I was 11 when she passed away. I then went back with my mom and then was placed with an aunt and then I went into the foster care system. I didn’t meet my biological dad until I was about 24 yrs old.

This song changed my life
When I tell you ever since doing this reaction I listen to this song at least once everyday. It’s in my rotation heavy. I love this song.
It changed all of Blue families lives! We thought we had it together until we heard this and then it all changed for us.
Me too. ❤
This reaction was so sweet! I just wanted to reach through the screen and give you a hug. Thank you!! 😊
Your reaction made my whole night!!! Blue October has helped in so many ways. “Believe in yourself and you will walk” new light to a wonderful song
