Hey Robert can you touch up, in a q&a maybe, the reason why you moved to Germany as an American and how you started your companies like Mitchell Consulting and Apex? Love the videos! 😁

Loving the channel so different to a lot of other automotive channels out , the lack of BS is great and not worried about what other people think. Very jealous of owning the GR such a cool little hot hatch
I’ve ordered a Yaris after seeing you guys so excited over these . Not influenced by your channel just really appreciate your open and honest views great work guys 👍 .Be over next year to the ring will pop in say hi from the uk .
I couldn’t tell you how happy I am to have not influenced you into this decision. When you come down with the car we will have to do a celebratory lap together
For wheels, why not a compromise between red and white? The OZ Racing Rally gravel in white with red lettering. It can handle the curbs, aren't extremely expensive to replace, and will look awesome on the yaris.
Thank you for the Dropbox link! I do love a good quality wallpaper. I really enjoyed the trail braking video too, a concept I was aware of but you explained it really well. Looking forward to more driving techniques and Yaris development! White wheels get my vote too. Hopefully see you guys in 2021 for a lap.
I really appreciate you caring about us users having to watch an awful lot of ads. I'd wish more people would think that way. You've already earned a place in my heart for the very cool Unno bike and really cemented it by giving the whole add think a thought. Please excuse my bad English I'm not a native speaker
Thanks a lot for the link to the wallpapers! Was actually looking for a new wallpaper, but now it's hard to choose because they all look good. I'd say white wheels, will look good on a white car and with a coating they are quite easy to keep clean as well.
That’s why I’ve ordered 2 Plain white for track only, red for road and keep...(forever), I’m looking at fabricating an inconel manifold, hybrid turbo, catless titanium full system, solid boost pipes, and a day on the rolling toad getting a custom map.

Would love to see an homage to a classic Toyota Rally livery. Maybe the Castrol Celica or the red Repsol. But change the logos like the Citroën Gauloises/GO !!!!
Ok but the Megane just looks badass with it, I'm not so keen on it being on the Yaris, maybe coz the Yaris is too small? Idk 🤔 I'm all for any customization tho
@@RobertMitchell I have no commercial connections with Intrax, their ARC(anti roll control) sistem just helped my car a lot, M2 with m4 GT4 uniball arms . I s still very driveble(55 clicks, using 35 for street and 10 open on track) on the street and very competent on the track using 270 Michelin slick .
My brother just got his GR & I must say it looks good in real life. In your case I’d go with the white wheels, it would go great together with the white & black accents! Keep up the great videos 🙏🏾
- white wheels 🤍 - make a custom mounting frame to get the seat as low as possible (pole position) - KW Clubsport - maybe go for an automatic 4-point harness (Schroth asm autocontrol) - half cage + make a nice, carpeted plate to keep road noise out - light exhaust (like HKS legamax) - remove speakers (fake engine noise is bad) or kill switch - light battery (liteblox?) - TRD or Cusco braces maybe
Love the idea of white wheels, the awesome Class B cars from the 80s come to mind (Audi Quattro, Lancia Delta, etc.). Carbon rear diffuser (on a white car looks great) with akrapovic exhaust system.
Robert, can you discuss wheel offsets and the impact to the suspension geometry, handling, tire size etc. Thanks. Really looking forward to seeing the build and videos with the GR Yaris!!
This is a fantastic video that captures the excitement created by the GR Yaris together with how it can be optimised for the unique challenges of the Nordschleife. Very excited about this project. Thank you for adding to your fleet. If white colour coded to the cars body colour please. Better still wheels and livery in gold to match your GT2 RS MR. Make it a cheekly little brother to your big boy.
id go for white wheels. I live a km away from a nice track so my dream GR Yaris would be white (maybe a dark grey wrap in the future) with PPF, black pro track wheels, track oriented suspension setup, half cage, light tune to get 300hp, sporty (not straight piped) exhaust, Recaro seats and maybe a sporty air filter with a bigger intake. Although, since I’m in Argentina I would have a set of rally tires, light pods and mud flaps for a trip to rally stage locations in Cordoba.
I agree on not putting crazy bumperkit on it. An new OEM bumper is much cheap to replace when you have a little crash and taken off a couple cm plastic. But not for power, sound is emotion: air intake and exhaust adds a lot to the experience. So please so! Wake it up!!
I placed my order today Went with pearl white and track pack. £35k over 2yrs interest free Not doing a thing too it for a while, later will do the exhaust once developed.
White wheels i think will work but only with a livery, think for me it would get the cage and seats plus the classic Celica red and green livery on the white. For winter road use.. lamp pod on the front 👍
if money would no problem i love the mini group b style they have know on the wrc cars , so yes like that in carbon kevlar body with a 1 pedal seq shifter and sidepipe with a massive diffusor tilton pedal box and al of that goodness full spec like full flat belly with a nice splitter canards and the whole 9 yards of cfd earo , and yes il will go to the shops with it . have a good one
I’m looking at getting a Yaris early in the new year ... and mod list is very similar to yours Robert 👍.. first off some high end dampers ( for me more tarmac rally spec ) something like oroflex or any of the big player’s in proper MS suspension 💪🏻👌... then look at what people are getting power wise with simple decat remaps ect ...with pads and lines to see how good the breaks are ... hopefully just pads n lines will do the trick 🤞see what bits inside can go .. then that’s probably it hopefully 👌🤞🤞.
Robert...please get your gr Yaris on the ramp again and see if Toyota have left the plumbing in there for the intercooler spray system to be re fitted. Thanks and great content and channel you and misha produce.
I think the GR rally livery would fit the GR and Apex well or the new Corolla BTCC Castrol livery. Adding the GR rally wing would also look pretty cool if it makes sense to you.
@@RobertMitchell I'm not surprised, the Castrol liveried Celica GT4 is a rally icon after all. But newer graphics are a better fit since the nice curves of the 90s aren't there anymore. Also, white wheels are a very good option and I would suggest bronze as an alternative.
INTERESTING. I live in Texas, so I just leave my daily (a big ol non-Evo Lancer) on Direzza ZIIIs year-round, and also use them on the 944 race car we run for the Lemons series here. I have beat the absolute snot out of those over the years, and found they keep their grip a bit longer than some of the others in that 180-200 TW class and don't suck in the wet. If you're planning on a dry set and a wet set for the rentals, though, that last part probably isn't as much of a concern. I don't have to work around customers underinflating them, either, but we've chucked those Direzzas out on track with, gosh, 30ish psi? for the 944's enduros knowing that they'll balloon up as we use them. The guys running bigger 17-inch wheels with shorter sidewalls (my 944 runs 15-inchers) sometimes go as low as 26 PSI for those races. I am very pro-white wheels so long as I don't have to clean them. Hahahahaha. I am glad you've got good detailers! My poor stock Lancer wheels have permanent, uh, "brake dust graphite accents" now. I've considered bronze wheels, too-also sorta rally-inspired-but practicality keeps bringing me back to a dark grey that will hide my, uh, "delayed cosmetic maintenance" better.
I'm with Misha on the seats. I'd lean more streetable seating than race car. I honestly would not do a cage at all. I'd look at under floor bracing, suspension and bars, especially with that short of a wheel base. Wheel color, I like white on white as well. I also like different, so purple metallic or raspberry. Bronze metallic would also look good too The other thing is you have to drop an intake on it highlight the blow noises LMBO. Not forgetting an exhaust it a must.
I'd go the other way. I'd put cheap slidey tyres on so that you can really throw the car around and use the AWD to its full effect without needing loads more power to break all 4 wheels loose. It'd also keep the speeds down. However as a rental operator maybe that's not quite what you want :D
Lime green wheels and matching half cage plus wing mirror caps. OMP WRC-R bucket seats ( i have them, badass seats ) For the logo's i would have green and black.
This all makes sense. The club sport ethos will suit the little GR really nicely 😀 Regarding the optical tuning...... I’d like to see the Apex graphic / decals on the car, the SAME bright colour as the wheels. (Not red or blue, as those are very 996GT3) Something nobody else will do and perhaps something less road car orientated. How about Castrol green, as a homage to the 90’s rally GT4? Get Tom to photo shop that? 🤓
Robert, thoroughly enjoy your content, comes to the Yaris, I'd love to see maybe a set of neon Green or Yellow rims and corresponding Apex decals, thus I love the gun metal Gray ones on it. All the best from the PNW, gotta say I miss the Ring. Was born in Cologne, and made it over the pond in the End of the 90's.....
Half cage is ideal. Don't put many colors on the car. white wheels and black wing is okey maybe black or carbon hood fit awesome. I'm waiting for the updates ;)
If I’m to setup the look of the GR Yaris, I would go old school WRC either the Toyota Repsol or the Lancia Delta Martini livery. White wheels with the optional red mud guards. With the big fog lamps upfront. 😊
I think those dark grey wheels suit the car really well. If you go with white I think it may be just "too much white" and it will look a little awkward. Red on the other hand it may be a little too flashy for my liking anyway :)
White for the Wet Wheels (for the Rally heritage), Black for the Dry Wheels (I'm not sure if you got Super White or White Pearl, but I love Black Wheels on Super White body colour, run it on my daily driver, don't think it matches as well with the Pearl effect though) and Bronze for the Winter Wheels (Also another great combo with Super White that I've found also kind of looks good).
Hi Robert, there's one thing you mentioned I'm not sure about. Around 6:00 you suggest to stiffen the front suspension so less weight tranfer occurs from rear to front axle. Actually, the weight transfered longitudinally is the same regardless of your suspension stiffness. The only thing that will change is the displacement of springs and shocks. So...what do you mean with that ? Maybe I misunderstood your point. Lovely video, cheers.
You can adjust the speed at which the weight transfers so slow it down, speed it up etc. Essentially adjust how the shock responds to the actual transfer. You may not change the true weights but how it’s applied.
As this car is a fwd with 4wd on demand like haldex cars( uses a dumber jtek coupling), you will need the rally transfer case to have proper 50/50% split and less slipage on rear coupling
Appreciate the video bro. Maybe get some b-roll of some of the things you talking about to keep the audience more engaged. B-roll is king for that stuff.
It is definitely a car that can cover numerous bases. If i am able to get one it will fill a dailyish role. It will also replace a 106 Gti sprint hillclimb car to have fun in the country! The 106 is white... with two sets of white wheels! Personally i would go for red!😁
One question Robert: You often switch between different tyres (dry, wet..), how does affect to the alignment, i personally dont feel conformtable with that changes without a proper aligment. Do you have any specific setup to work with both tyres?
I agree to turn the car over to MR and let them make suggestions on what needs to be done. I don't remember if they worked on the Supra but if its different, maybe they are more familiar with Toyotas.Setting the car for road racing may be different that what GR may have done for a rally car that might be on mixed roads and conditions. No red wheels - white ok if you're not ok with anthracite. As a rental car, the less aggressive Recaro seats could fit more folks than a true bucket style suited more for think folks only. I'd hope they would come out with a twin clutch transmission at some time. The race version probably would use a sequential.
Rally car = white wheels. if thats the look you're going for anyway.
Yesss exactly
and mud flaps although that might not work on the ring

If I’m to setup the look of the GR Yaris, I would go old school WRC either the Toyota Repsol or the Lancia Delta Martini livery. White wheels with the optional red mud guards. With the big fog lamps upfront. 😊
White rims but I would add a slightly larger spoiler for that WRC vibe...
I think those dark grey wheels suit the car really well. If you go with white I think it may be just "too much white" and it will look a little awkward. Red on the other hand it may be a little too flashy for my liking anyway :)
White for the Wet Wheels (for the Rally heritage), Black for the Dry Wheels (I'm not sure if you got Super White or White Pearl, but I love Black Wheels on Super White body colour, run it on my daily driver, don't think it matches as well with the Pearl effect though) and Bronze for the Winter Wheels (Also another great combo with Super White that I've found also kind of looks good).
hard thing is its good to have stickers matching wheels..
White rims will look great on this rally looking car in white 🆒
Could be really cool:-)
What about some rally stages as well with the yaris great videos cheers
It's about time white wheels made a comeback! 😎 You could maybe do a brand deal with a brake dust barrier company.... 😂
Yes big white wing and white wheels 👍👍👍👊
As this car is a fwd with 4wd on demand like haldex cars( uses a dumber jtek coupling), you will need the rally transfer case to have proper 50/50% split and less slipage on rear coupling
Appreciate the video bro.
Maybe get some b-roll of some of the things you talking about to keep the audience more engaged.
B-roll is king for that stuff.
Get manthey racing to make some of the GT2RS aero disc wheels in white for the yaris.
It is definitely a car that can cover numerous bases. If i am able to get one it will fill a dailyish role. It will also replace a 106 Gti sprint hillclimb car to have fun in the country! The 106 is white... with two sets of white wheels!
Personally i would go for red!😁
White with some black and gold trim would look great I think. Maybe half/half spokes white and black.
lots of gold here in the comments
@@RobertMitchell Ok I vote for pink then. :P
One question Robert: You often switch between different tyres (dry, wet..), how does affect to the alignment, i personally dont feel conformtable with that changes without a proper aligment. Do you have any specific setup to work with both tyres?
Looking forward to Yaris transformation. Also, Robert, can you put Ferrari Pista background to dropbox from previous videos? That one looked stuning
O yes , thanks for the modding videos !
Glad you like them!
