Hey Chris. Was just surfing the net and found out that Micheal Arnold, the designer and builder of the Ar-5 and Ar-6, passed away. I believe his widow was the one to publish all 6 of his videos on UA-cam. Just figured you would enjoy the hell out of them. Search " the Arnold company ar-5" and you will find them. Make some popcorn because there is about 8 hours worth of knowledge stuffed into them.
I am deep into the calculations for my single seat design. I try to avoid complex production technology. Now I see you build plugs for a single airplane. Yes, this makes it lighter! Would do it again ir would you save work and use a simpler method?
I pull out about 10%. A little wasted resin but guarantees no dry spots. Also running the layup resin rich initially gives me a better surface finish and higher peel.
+makcplast Oh yeah, I usually start at 50/50, sometimes even richer (60/40) depending on the fabric weave, thickness, part, and intended inHg. The reason I don't use micro balloons/slurry is because the vacuum bagging, at least in my experience, pulls/pushes that mixture thru and into the structural carbon face layers thereby weakening the skins.

I'll totally be following your progress, thanks.
+gordon6029 good to have you on board! Thanks!

very nice project, but i have a question why not make a kickstarter?
Hey Chris can you please give me a link to a page where I can check out your other planes and maybe have a glimpse of what you are building now?
+gordon6029 More info and pics about my past airplanes can be found by typing "savor aircraft" on Google.
+Chris Christiansen haha staying pretty right lipped eh. I've checked out all your stuff. Can't wait to see when it starts comin together..
what is the amount of epoxy resin in carbon fiber? absorbent layer very rich

+Chris Christiansen the ratio by weight resin / carbon fiber 1/1 ?
+Chris Christiansen watched an earlier video. resin / fiber 50/50 ... OK . why foam impregnated with resin without filler microballoon

+Chris Christiansen OK . I understood you, looking forward to the next video. good luck in everything
