a few things I notice about Bayonettas default outfits even if they may seem like reaches: Her outfits are seasonally appropriate. Bayonetta 1 takes place in the fall, so her beehive hairdo that resemble an old witches hat, the moon accessories all over her outfit, and the usage of red, black, and gold and the rose designs on her belly give it a subtle Halloween inspiration. Bayonetta 2 takes place in the winter, so the blue used is already a nod to the colder seasons. The sharp edges all over the outfit remind me of snowflakes, which have about 6 sides, but different designs every time they form, and the silver jewelry is frosty like. Plus shawls are a very stylish winter accessory, even if bayonettas doesn't appear very practical for keeping warm, lol. Bayonetta 3s flowy skirt, shoulder puffs, cherry blossom and braids motifs, reintroducing gold jewelry and red ribbons from the first game, and the overall "softer" look she goes with here makes a sweet spring outfit. The outfit has a warmer air to it too, like the ice from winter is melting and plants are growing again. (also noticing the lack of flower references in bayonetta 2's default outfit unlike the roses on 1 and cherry blossoms in 3) a few more things about 1 and 3's outfits specifically: Bayonetta 1s outfit also seems Rosa inspired with the rose designs, belts on her sleeve seen in rosas outfit, and the beehive resembling rosas hat thing. even if Cereza doesn't remember her mother at that point in her story, it still fits the themes of self discovery and its another thing that points to her younger self to mistaking her for her mummy. Bayonetta 2's outfit strays away from the old umbran witches aesthetics the first game, but Bayonetta 3 references her heritage in multiple points of the outfit. Such as the her technically being half lumen sage with the sun motif on the right handle of her glasses and the moon motifs on the left. (also a nod to the eyes of the world) The braids are obviously reminiscent of a childhood hairstyle, but despite the "cute" appearance, I think they're a good choice for combat as braiding hair makes it stronger and makes it easier to manage in the daily than long hair when done properly. The reintroduction of red ribbons, gold jewerly, and even a cat in the back of her outfit instead of being on her ears like the first game along with the references to heritage to me gives me the feeling that after she remembered her past and learned the truth in that same past, she took the newfound strength she's earned in the modern day and evolved these elements into a new twist rather than ditching it entirely like her outfit in 2. I couldn't see her referencing the sages in 2 before she came to realize the truth behind her parents and coming to understand that her father was a brave and loving man placed in a horrible situation and not the conniving villain she thought he was at the end of 1 and beginning of 2 for instance. Lastly, her outfit in 3 is a very "Cereza" esc outfit. It works amazingly from a character development pov in my opinion as it references Bayonetta's origins as the lonely and deeply afraid outcast of the witches, but the strength she now has emphasizes confidence, kindness, and power to face any situation without fear. In that sense she did become just like her mother like she wanted to at her young age.
This is precisely why I always said that it doesn't make sense that Jeanne wears the same battle outfits than Bayonetta when these outfits are clearly homages to Rosa, especially in the first game. Platinum was too lazy to give Jeanne her own outfits or at least to remove the references to Rosa. I personally would have been happy even with something simple as long as they aren't copies of Bayo's costumes.
@@shizukagozen777 i've always assumed that her outfits are a much more cleaner design in comparison to bayo (not references to rosa bc thats kinda odd for me) but yeah. with jeanne, she should have her own set of outfits that are far from bayo's so her in-game fashion brand is a lot of present in those designs.

I think that the reason Bayonetta and Jeanne were able to buy all those fancy clothes in Bayonetta 2 despite being just a nun and a schoolteacher was due to their connections with angels, maybe they were doing some special deals as a side job for some extra cash. For the Bayonetta 3 outfits, I kinda thought the different outfits were based on Alice in Wonderland, bear with me Bayonetta β1 would be the White Rabbit thanks to her ribbon that sticks up and looks like rabbit ears and her section is basically a lot of running before time runs out, which is basically the Rabbit's trademark. Bayonetta β3 - Would be the White Queen who, just like this Bayonetta, is much more passive and recluse. Also the fact that she is Egyptian, one of the oldest civilizations, is similar to the White Queen who lives backwards in time, due to the fact that she lives through the eponymous looking glass. @@UmbranLumen each type of angel, homunculi and faerie are like species, with the exception of more powerful ones, but demons all seem to be individuals. We never see 2 of the same type together, with the exception of hideous whom are a gang led by hatred, same with the little devils and 0, and fury IS a species. But some of bayonettas are the opposite. You'd think that they are unique, but there are multiple scolopendras, gomorrah, labalos and carnage. The third one makes sense, but in bayonetta 3 it's implied that Malphas is a species too , and I'm pretty sure that the phantasmarnea from 2 and 3 are the children of the giant from 1. @@jpxfrd154 I think because Bayonetta summons individual demons a lot it seems like they are all unique but the truth is a lot of demons have species/copies. _"Witch Queen" for Bayo1,_ because of the very creative re-use of the Umbra Fragances.
_"Police girl A" of Bayo2,_ because she reminds me of Seras from _Hellsing._
_Beta3 Bayonetta's design for Bayo3,_ because not only is it a complete reversal of her colour palatte, it als makes great use of the colour white - something I don't get to see as often, as with other colours, specially black.
And for the _Nintendo costumes,_ I may be biased to preferential treatment towards the _"Hero of Hyrule" costume,_ but beside looking bada$$, it also intergrades both my favorite weapon and my favorite accesoire.
I always loved the costume of Bayonetta and oh my god Bayonetta 3 just peaked with the design I love them so much!
Also I wanna say that Bayonetta design in 2 look like my Grandma and that's hilarious
I love my grandma so that's a big compliment
bayo 4 must come
Thx 4 this love learning more over bayonetta lore
MAYBE A VIDEO OF THE PERFUMES THAT IS BAUGHT FROM RODINS TREASSURES?
Hell yeah
It’s great getting recommended, especially after heXtian’s recent Bayonetta custom doll
HeXtian's Bayonetta doll was so 💋
Nice video idea
Bayonetta's primary outfit in the 2nd game is supreme don't even @ me
I must disagree.
I wish we had gotten a Lumen sage Bayo.
Me too. A Lumen Sage Bayonetta would have brought so much cool lore too even if that wouldn't be the intention.
dope
Nice
Jeanne not being able to afford lots of luxury outfits just because she's a teacher doesn't make sense. Idk why they said that. 😂
Btw if Jeanne needed money, she would have picked up another job than teacher...
she's been around for 300+ years, I assume she had *many* jobs before.
very experienced
ngl the comment they made that the PE costume stems from personal preference is kinda weird since its inspired by kids sport clothing….
Yeah, not a fan of it lol definitely my least favorite
@@UmbranLumenI didn’t necessarily dislike the costume but hearing why they chose to make this specifically a costume kinda freaks me out icl 😭
Yea that and the school girl outfit is also just a big ew 😭
What's next?
Not sure yet but I'll see!
@@UmbranLumen I have a question about demons
@@jpxfrd154 Let me know, I'll see if I can answer!
My main issue is that It doesn't make sense that most unique demons are enemies while bayonettas are species instead of the other way around.
@@jpxfrd154 I think because Bayonetta summons individual demons a lot it seems like they are all unique but the truth is a lot of demons have species/copies. All the enemies we fight in Bayonetta 2 are also species. Basically, I think the reason it looks off is because of how we encounter and summon demons.
In the end, demons are exactly like angels, faeries and homunculi. There are multiple species and there are almost no unique ones.
When are you going to talk about the costumes from Origins?
Ah you just reminded me why I don't use outfits in bayo 1 while I constantly change especially in 3.... D arc is the only one that looks good and that's because it's just re colored Jeane's outfit, the rest are absolute hot garbage
I am sure if they had more time, the costumes from the first game would be better but alas lol
Luka is a werewolf????? Huh??
It's an early nod to his faerie werewolf form in Bayonetta 3! It's pretty wild lol
696th like...
The fact that the costume in Bayonetta 3 has random demonic letters on it unlike the other outfits just shows how lazy they were when they created it (It's basically a Nier Automata rip off for the people who haven't noticed it yet). 😂😂😂
My goodness I love it here. Everyone loves Bayonetta as much as me. Definitely subscribing.🩵💛
That's what I hope for! Seeing everyone discuss the iconic witch is great 💖
@ Cheers then! I’ll look forward to your videos
