    Fun fact about the Auditio!
They all are named after virtues but somehow go against them.
Fortitude tries to stop Bayonetta from fighting.
Temperantia is angered at the damage done to him.
Iustitia only desires justice for the angles.
Sapientia is rude and not the nicest angel to both Bayonetta and Jeanne.

One thing I noticed about Golem is how Aesir's Golem is better than the one made by Lumen and the Umbra, Aesir's can melt it's whole body to create brand new shapes like a t-1000 terminator while the Bayonetta 1 golem has to settle with rearranging it's cubes to make shapes which limits the forms it can take. Also Aesir's golem can straight up teleport on it's own, without the aid of portals and is much faster in battle with a bigger moveset.

I've entertained the thought of an RTS set in Bayonetta's world. There's already loads of potential for units, and it could allow for a chance to flesh out the histories of the Umbra and Lumen much more. Perhaps with more individually inclined Angels that can be *seen* helping out mankind and acting as aides/advisors.
And if we go into kinda fanfic-y territory, mayhaps it could open up the way for splinter groups of main factions, that could be more inclined to moderation or radical extremes.

40:56 I think Glamor might be a reference to the Chalkydri which are mythical creatures from the Second Book of Enoch that have the head of a crocodile, the legs of a lion, have twelve wings, and are colored purple “like the rainbow”. Artistic depictions usually include rainbow colors as a reference.
I believe they are associated with the Phoenix in bringing the sun’s light and warmth to the earth. It brings the morning dew while it sings, alerting birds that the sun is rising.

For me, this is actually the most interesting thing about the Bayonetta series. It's really unique, to me at least, to see angelic creatures this creatively designed, this inspired, and just this... cool. Mainly speaking in regards to Hack-and-Slash/Character Action type games.
Heck, angels in general don't get a lot of focus on that front in hack-and-slashers, compared to demons.
Big comment incoming, so my apologies if it gets boring, but here's what I have noticed regarding angels and heavenly stuff in these types of games when Christian bases and inspirations are involved:
-The Darksiders series is the next one in this franchise, that has angels deeply fleshed-out and well-established, with the Truce of Heaven and Hell until the End Times would arrive. There's a good amount of angel characters and even some angelic locations-- though deeper insight in their society seems to mainly be reserved for the Abomination Vault novel.
Hell and the demons get more screentime and showcasing of their realms, I'd say. Helps that in the series, they actually have won the pre-emptive End War.
-Aside from that, there's Dante's Inferno, and even then you only get to see Gabriel (i think) for a short cutscene, and actually *play* as one: St. Lucia in the Trials of St. Lucia DLC, who seems pretty cool.
But the game is still, for nigh its entirety, set in Hell (and pretty awesomely at that), where both demons *and* sinners are opponents.
The bestiary does clarify that Lucifier and the specific, classic goat-horned-and-hoofed enemies are former angels that now act as jailers and torturers of the sinners.
-The Lords of Shadows' games main character is named Gabriel, and the Lord and the Heavens are often spoken about-- but that's the closest we get. Once again, demons are present here-- but focus lie more so on earthly horrors. Starting with goblins and lycans, to ghouls and walking skeletons, imps and living armors, giant spiders and living scarecrows, mandrakes, and of course vampires. Which is also a very cool route to be walking for enemy designs.
-And DmC doesn't even seem to *have* Heaven or actual angels as a thing. I read a few times that angels in the DmC franchise are actually another variant of Demonic creatures.
(Bonus one: Least known of all of these, there's Knight's Contract, and focus there is on witches and folklore. But I believe neither demons nor angels really appear as such)
I don't gravitate towards the super-blow-the-roof-off-this-multi-roofed-cathedral-then-repair-the-roofs-and-build-a-few-new-ones-then-do-it-all-over-again level of over-the-topness, general camp and turbo-overpoweredness of the main character and series as a whole in Bayonetta
Personally, my leanings more towards the aforementioned Darksiders series, Soulstice, and Heavenly Sword (amongst a few others, like Marlow Briggs and the Mask of Death, Lords of Shadow 1 and 2, and Dante's Inferno).
Be it main characters, tone, world or other factors-- or a mix of them.
And yet, like I said before, a number of the Angel designs have kept on holding my attention, and the lore and reasonings behind their names that comes with them.
So, while I may be a stranger on the internet, I do appreciate the effort and time that you have put into making this video! It's really cool, and I thank you for having made it.

@@UmbranLumen That's a big part of why I love it, as well as how in-depth Bayonetta went with the strict hierarchy. There's a system in place, logic for the names, and at the moment, it's just... unique.
I wouldn't mind a game set in the Bayonetta universe where one could *play* as creatures from Paradiso or Inferno.
An RTS in this series' universe (not counting the multiverse crud) I think could be legitimately cool. Or do something like a mix of God Hand and Darksiders Genesis' Creature Core system: Defeat enemies to make them drop a specific attack or effect enhancer, slot that attack/enhancer onto a "tree", and customize one's loadout going from there.
(Sidenote regarding Darksiders: I do truly hope that in further Darksiders games, Heaven (and other realms) get explored more in-depth as well. The angels there generally take the winged humanoid look, but I think are still interesting. Would love to see proper Ophanim and/or Cherubim.
Most interesting angel in that series thus far is Jamaerah the Scribe, who looks like what happened if a Putto grew up to be an adult)

I have Pure Platinum'd all 3 games, and I just enjoy it as my favorite video game series. I started this channel because I wanted to share my findings about the origins of the names and descriptions you find in the lore books outside the main story and so people could watch and maybe share their own discoveries too. I am a sucker for nods to pop culture, mythology, and legends, and this series had a lot!

@@UmbranLumen My apologies for the late reply! Thank you for taking the time out of your day to write out such a big reply to my own question.
Oh dang, pure platinum all 3 of them? That's testament to how much you love the series as a whole, amidst all its fumbles and stumbles.
I'm all here for nods and references to pop culture and mythology as well! For people to start. That being the jumping off point for people to set up channels on YT, or something similar, to document that kind of knowledge is awesome to see.
I don't know how interested you'd be in venturing into other hack-and-slash titles, but if you ever want to delve into Aztec mythology, the Divine Comedy, and/or more aspects of Christianity mixed with some other assorted, pre-Abrahamic mythology, i'd recommend checking out Marlow Briggs and the Mask of Death, Dante's Inferno (the game) and the Darksiders series respectively.
Dante's Inferno especially goes to quite a lot of lengths to depict Hell as truly horrible (in a good way) as it could, while still holding true to the descriptions of the poem, and outright quoting it at points. While also giving an own spin to a lot of it.
Darksiders is more all over the place, but for me was how I became known with the tale of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse in the first place. It does firmly carve out its own universe and mythology out of these tales, though. Stuff like there being worlds in Creation outside of Heaven, Hell and the Kingdom of Man, with Heaven and Hell being the two biggest and most prominent, for example.
Darksiders 2 does a lot to expand the world of the universe. Darksiders 3 Dials it back again, more concentrated on Earth where Fury faces off against the Seven Deadly Sins (and Lust is depicted ESPECIALLY fantastically. A lot more interestingly than Dante's Inferno).
But Darksiders Genesis swings back into more interesting naming conventions, where it concerns the main bosses' names. Such as Mammon and Moloch.
Apologies if this gushing got annoying, but if you took the time to read through this all-- thank you for doing so, and thank you again for giving me your time of day to reply!

Personally, I cannot view the Angels of Bayonetta as being "evil".
Whatever their methods-and arguments can be made to justify their actions throughout the first game-their ultimate goal is to restore reality to it's original state.
Now before anyone here goes "Oh they were going to kill all of humanity!" First of all, you don't *know* that because that is never said to be the case in any of the games in which they appear, and second, let's not pretend that we humans haven't been slaughtering each other in droves for the past ten thousand years, among other horrific acts. If these Angels really wanted to eradicate humanity, they'd be well within their rights to do so.

I hope they return so much more fun to fight then the homunculi I like fighting people however I want not having to do this first or solely rely on this. Or get in for two seconds then be pushed out or just pushed out until a certain amount of damage is done. Fun ones to me where any human one the giant fat guys the flower turrets and I might be missing some. Even the bosses aren’t as good only fun ones to me where the witches. Just because it was fluent combat..The homunculi bosses besides a couple like the bull guy where all singularity meaning they have no unique personalities it’s just singularity being a broken record. In some giant blob of whatever. They witches didn’t cling to a wall or to far in front of you where it’s hard to hit them or the floor is lava where ur constantly hopping platforms along with that, that happens 3-4 bosses. Combine that with enemy push back it happens a lot. Some angels/demons are annoying to fight as where some bosses before but they should learn from them 1 was really rough in some parts in 2 u could get them in witch time like the shield guys wicked weaves will break them and strong enough attacks to them and witch time will catch baldur and stuff. All games had flaws but I had fun in all of them they improved some stuff. I’m glad the angels and demons were fightable but not all of them. I hope they are more than side verses next game.
