When I was in college, my friends and I who had apartments would decide on a “community dinner”, divide up the shopping list, and then rotate who’s apartment we all gathered at to make dinner and watch a movie. You’re absolutely right that it does help.

All animals feel the stress including the ones people eat. The stress in the form of toxins released when they are butchered go into the bodies of people who consume them.

I love that you're taking the much-needed time for yourself. We're often regarded with a lot of shame if we rise late as there is so much pressure to get up early in order to be successful. I totally understand the need to just slow down and go with the flow and not feeling any guilt about it. We need to normalize taking care of ourselves.

When you talked about how Max seems more "mature" and sweet now I couldn't help but think that maybe it's partly because of the shift in your aura and life as well. Animals can sense our moods, our anxiety, our confidence etc... so maybe he is more and more calm & content & cuddly & happy because you are growing all of these things inside of you now! And it has an effect on him because well, you're his mom and bff!

He's living his best life and most likely in a better place now after the positive changes you've made 😊 Our eldest dog, a retriever, was in such a behavior funk when I had a burn out and left my job 2 years ago. It took me a while to realize why she was being so difficult but it was directly correlated to my stress and anxiety! Dogs sort of mirror us, it's such a delicate and wonderful type of bond. So glad you took some time to take care of you. It sometimes feels like we are taking care of ourselves when we are hanging with people we enjoy, however it also is draining mentally and physically when having an autoimmune disease. Glad to see you slowing down. Love you friend 😘😘😘

Life can be hectic and stressful at times, so it’s nice to take those relaxing “me” time moments when you can. Also Max is the best boy! His new haircut is super cute!! One last thing, you said that was so true- you have to shop around when finding a therapist. I had an eating disorder (anorexia) and had to search for the right therapist. You hit the nail on the head with that- because it’s so important to click with the person who is there to help you, so thank you so much for putting that out there!! 🙏❤️😘
It is so fun to cook with your sister and a great way to transition back into the habit of preparing meals for yourself but I have a suggestion! Since you’ve mentioned struggling to be alone as well and mentioned how it’s difficult to figure out portion sizes for one person etc as a reason for not cooking for one… I think it would be a great idea to challenge yourself to cook for just you! This way you are doing two things 1) making yourself a healthy nutritious meal and 2) prioritizing YOU vs you and others. You’ll get to know yourself better like how much you actually need to prepare for just one, prioritize YOUR tastes and preferences without regard for anyone else, and it can be very healing to intentionally put time into just doing something for you and you only. I know you like to be efficient and you care about other people, but given your journey I do believe preparing nutritious & delicious meals for one would be a great exercise in healing and self-prioritizing. I’ve had similar experiences as you have and the process of cooking for one was immensely healing for me and I think you might find the same if you give it a shot! 💕
I bet you could find a farmers market nearby that would have some amazing heirloom tomatoes! We grow some and I work for a farmer who sells the most delicious heirloom tomatoes!
I resonated with so many things that you do for self-care and about decluttering too! I've been trying to video everything for content on home renovations and my room organizations, but it does slow down my progress, and cannot zone into it because I'm thinking about the angles and how the footage will come out. So these days, I've kinda let that go and record just bits and pieces, and maybe when it's done~ like progress updates instead of trying to record the whole process & I feel less stress and can enjoy the cleaning process more. :)
I would recommend you watch the cottage fairy on UA-cam. She is all about slow living and enjoying nature. You could get some tips on some quiet hobbies that are therapeutic and so relaxing.
Wow, I swear our lives has so many similarities. I'm not good at slowing down at all, but I had a lumbar puncture go wrong, and then I ended up falling off the bed and thankfully only sprained my knee and ankle. It's made me really realise how important my health is and that it isn't selfish to prioritise not moving if it hurts too much (chronic pain and illness woo) or going to see the doctors and having to spend money. I have been able go back to work but then after injuring myself, I have to take a tiny bit of time off but its completely ruined my 'financial goals' that I had set for myself. I've been going through so much self growth and seeing your growth as well, its amazing. You help keep me going on the days where pain feels impossible. Thank you for being a sunshine to the world.

If you try those Heirloom tomatoes you will never want to go back to normal tomatoes. Different colors have different tastes and they are so much more flavorful than normal tomatoes. The are a lot sweeter and less acidic. I love getting the plants of the different verities and growing them in pots on my deck. Growing them that way is not hard btw.

So proud of you for accepting a challenge to slow down because I know it can be SOO difficult sometimes. I'm the same, I'm not very good at sitting still. My mum says my brain doesn't have an off switch haha 😂 I like keeping busy, filling my days with hobbies, but sometimes it's good to just sit still. I'm glad I enjoy reading, that's my quiet self care time

I am a teacher and so have my summers off of work, and I have been struggling with not feeling like I am doing enough and keep pushing myself to get up early and check off a bunch of things. I had the opposite experience with cooking. Cooking for 1 was so much easier and cheaper. I lived alone for most of my adult life and cooked for myself as a kid so I got so used to it. Even after almost 8 years with my partner I get portions wrong, either too much or too little. It was always just easier for me that way and I always had leftovers.

Staying on a houseboat sounds exciting! I hope you vlog it (or even just a couple of clips if you're having a social media free break). Me and my mum love the water, we had a weekend away together just the 2 of us. We went to the seaside and spent the evening on a beautiful pleasure boat. Saw a beautiful sunset with mum, even if the waves were a little bumpy!

Hi Michel! I have a question, I also am self employed, and I have a job on the side so I can live haha, but I'm really strugling with sitting and work, I procastinate a lot. A week went by and I realised I didn't do anything. I know you are the opposite, but maybe you weren't always that way and you can give us some advise on how to organise our time, or our minds. I love and admire you so much! And I'm so happy for you and all the thing you achieved, you are amazing! Also I love seeing you and Jordi, you now seem trully happy and loved♥

I had the opposite experience with cooking. Cooking for 1 was so much easier and cheaper. I lived alone for most of my adult life and cooked for myself as a kid so I got so used to it. Even after almost 8 years with my partner I get portions wrong, either too much or too little. It was always just easier for me that way and I always had leftovers.
