Yeah! Keep it going. Community absolutely needs these up to date tutorials. I suggest you to do series like one vid of every ALiVE module. Good, clear, in depth videos...
So just wondering, how do you win a match in ALIVE? The commander assigns tasks, yaddah yaddah yaddah... but when does the game actually end? Or does it? Does the commander get told that a town is cleared? Just wondering because I've made a few missions with ALIVE before and the commander kind of just stops doing things.
There is no clear "Win" definition with Alive which kinda sucks because it'd be cool to define a value of say for example, a win is defined as Extreme Losses on BLUFOR/OPFOR/INDEPENDENT (whatever faction is being used) then once those parameters are met you get a mission completed/mission failed. Typically How I run it/How Our Group runs Missions with it is based off the Base Values you define when creating it. Say you define the Start value of 200, without enemy re-enforcement a win would be defined as all 200 entities are killed/wounded. Then you can use Zeus to "End the game" with the scenario flow, End Scenario/Mission Complete.
can you black list certain units. I'm trying to do an eastern front scenario during ww2 and I keep seeing king tigers spawning but I only want panzer 3 and 4 spawning.
yeah, Just type their unit ID/code/whatever you want to call it in the blacklist box, separated by a comma. If that doesn't work I have no clue what to tell ya hahaha
Thanks for the tutorial! I was wondering if you could maybe do one with the theme of an insurgency. I’m currently working on a scenario based in Afghanistan with IEDs and the likes. I’ll let you know how I get on 👍
Is it possible to place another separate AI commander with its own mil/civ obj modules, etc, and set it to invasion? That way I could simulate RHS USMC invade RHS VDV using occupation commander (for example)? If so, would the TAOR’s remain the same?
Multiple Questions, 1) Are you using a Faction that is supported by Alive? 2) Are you using a Map that is Supported by Alive? If you are using things supported by Alive then something you are doing in your settings are jacked. I haven't had a problem in over 4 years of messing with Alive and I always use the same general stuff.
Excellent tutorial....very detailed and up-to-date, thanks for posting! Although cracks me up millennial English: "I can't English...I can't math"...where's the verb as in "I can't speak English...I can't do math"? Sorry I digress... Anyhow, you can add triggers for an end mission. I typically place a few triggers that once occupied and no enemies within 200meters, the town is captured. Capture 2-3 or so strategically important towns and end mission triggered. This is for force on force...a little harder to achieve with insurgency type missions, as there is no clear 'front line'. On the other hand, insurgencies may never end in reality.
The down side with Alive is there is no real way to set triggers to end a mission. What I typically do is have Zeus enabled so I can use the Mission End module found under Scenario Flow, While in game be it. But Thanks for watching mate.

Great job, keep going please. Get more detailed on how to play the actual campaign. Alive can be confusing for many.
excellent video
So this is like Nr6 hal?

Yes, However Rip to your Frame rate lol
do you still use alive buddy? anything changed since??
Yep Yep. Alive hasn't done any updates recently that I'm Aware of, Once they update I'll push out a new video in the tutorial series
I cannot get mine to work
could you theoretily copy these methoods for blu 4 and create massive ai battles.
Yes you CAN do this, However... You will have massive Frame issues due to the spawning and despawning of AI.
Follow these videos 2 times. I've only seen 1 single Opfor spawn in, 0 civilians spawn in ever. No vehicles either.

It only spawns in blufor
You probably didnt turn specific things off, or possibly didn't label things correctly.
only places csat nomatter what
Are you using Alive Compatible Factions? Are you typing in the Factions "code" correctly?
@@RavenTacticalGaming It was the comma at the end. "BLU_F," vs "BLU_F" when there was a comma at the end of the chain it broke for some reason.
@@danielomaha3733 Ahh gotcha. Yea Alive is touchy lol
