Happy 4th to everyone! Thanks so much for tuning in!
Happy Fourth to you and yours as well! 🎇
Happy Canada & Independence Day!
Happy 4th!!!
Heres the Fl information for ghost traps.
Happy 4th!
The start to this video is heaven on earth! That had to be awesome to start out like that.
The more I see your new boat set-up the more impressed I am with it. It's actually ingenious!
super happy with it for sure
With him up there I bet it gets on plane super easy
As much art work as Will has on him you could drag him behind the boat as a teaser. Great job as usual!!
😂 we got a good laugh from that one! thanks for watching!
He has! How do you think we got the 300lb sword?
@@CookingWithClams Would like the to hear the story,s behind them. Sorry Will, i should comment on your vids first. i am behind.
@@wimtheeuwen7315I’ve been waiting on a video from Will on the history behind all the tatoos as well….
As always, I love your soft commentary, love the fact that there's no music to get in the way of me enjoying your dives...but I really enjoyed those 10 seconds of silence on that still ocean. Thank you again
appreciate the positive feedback 🙏
The conditions are so amazing. Water so flat is unbelievable. It almost looks like the surface is covered with oil. absolutely beautiful.
def was a beautiful morning!
A simple vid, I’m enjoying the vibe, the calmness of the sea, the pleasure of enjoying the silence, perrrrfect.
🙏
Something to keep in mind! When using your side scan machine the water depth actually cuts into the distance out that you will see, so if you want to see 100 feet out while in 50 feet of water you need to set it to 150 feet
thanks for the info!
Yea, the dark area in the milde is the watercolumn between the transducer and the botom.
A summer slicker day for sure! It has to be fun to do just that, go explore new spots in the fabulous keys. Thanks for taking us!
never gets old!
I really the commentary. Most of the youtubers use unnecessary music but Aaron is different. He keep everything simple yet beautiful. The way and flow everything is fantastic.
glad you enjoy it! not a big fan of music over videos, like to enjoy it as it is.
What a beautiful morning!!
Yes it was!
Can’t tell where the sky starts and The sea ends. Blessed to be there 🙏🏽
indeed!
Your concern and conservatism is amazing. A true steward of our oceans and ecosystems.
Really enjoy your videos. I learned to scuba dive in the 70’s at Deep Sea Bill’s in Newport Oregon and used to do a lot of spear fishing on the Oregon coast and Yaquina Bay. I’m 76 now and due to health reasons can’t do much diving anymore but I’m hoping to do a little shallow free diving this summer. I really appreciate your humane treatment of the fish and sealife you harvest by quickly dispatching them. You set a good example for others. I always tried to do the same. Thanks for bringing back my memories 🤗. Best to you, Madeline and Will. I enjoy the cooking segments and use some of your ideas occasionally.
so glad you enjoy the vids and appreciate the positive feedback! 🙏
Your videos are pure comfort entertainment. It’s like watching blue planet II but instead I’m learning about spearfishing.
🙏
What an amazing intro just gorgeous the sky melts into the water living in paradise that’s for sure Aaron.
really was an amazing morning!
Great video Aaron! That’s the quietest and calmest ocean scene that I’ve ever seen. So beautiful. Crab are so tasty when dealt with properly.
Thank you for sharing!!!
was a lovely morning! 🙏
12:42 Unbelievable, ABSOLUTELY. You found a gentle piece of Heaven.
really was amazing
I’ve spent countless hours behind a boat hanging on to a rope looking for spots. Couldn’t afford any kind of electronics back in the day. Basically a CB radio is all my Dad had. Wouldn’t trade those days for the world. Great times!
haha thats how I grew up doing it!
I love where you live....dream come true for sure. Just being on the water does something to the soul
its a lovely place!
Great side scan talk.......cool !
glad you enjoyed it!
I'm ok with being a little inconvenienced while eating if it means the animal doesn't suffer. Glad to see you're of the same mindset! (I know you say it a lot in your videos, still, it's nice to hear)
agreed!
Freaking awesome as always!!! I started using side scan when hummingbird first came out with it, serious game changer! I'm on the coast in S.C. and use it in salt and fresh water. Can't imagine not having it.
At the begging of the video it’s crazy how the ocean is so still and glossy, so peaceful, I love it 💪👍 great video
def was awesome!
What a sunrise!
was lovely!
Have a great 4th. 🎆🎇🇺🇸🇺🇸
You as well!
Try a splash of white vinegar in the water. Helps keep the meat from sticking. Works with all crabs.
I normally do, completely forgot to mention it
Very informative video! I wished I would have seen this the day you posted it. I just got back this evening from 8-days on Cudjoe. I have the simrad with sidescan and have never really taken the time to figure it out (didn’t understand what I was looking at, now I do).
I was a couple of times during the stay including yesterday behind Sawyer looking for spots, never even thought to turn it on. I also had a good size spider crab on my canal chum bag one night…should have have grabbed it.
Anyway, great conditions the whole time we were there although I thought I was going to have a heat stroke on Sunday the 2nd, zero wind on the reef…so freaking HOT!
Thanks for posting!
haha its been a hot one for sure! hope you had a good time and thanks for tuning in!
So glad to see real life. Very inspirational. Always a treat to see the highlights of the dreams that come true. Hard to imagine all of the hard work it took to get there. Thanks
🙏
I like that you showed respect to the animal by dispatching it before consuming it. I'm the same way. I've seen too many "fisherman" being unnecessarily cruel to animals for views. A lot of people may think it's hippy dippy, but I think it makes zero sense to be cruel to an animal just because you're going to eat it. Everything that ends up on our plates had to be killed to get there, whether plant or animal. I think part of being a good hunter/fisherman/human is understanding that basic respect and quickly/humanely dispatching your harvest. So thank you for pointing it out. Wishing you tight lines and good weather!
couldn't agree more!
As productive as you are with your past tools, its hard to imagine once you learn the new ones how productive you'll be then. As always fantastic video, have a great and safe fourth, next week my friend!!
hopefully! happy 4th thanks for tuning in!
Happy 4th! I always live watching your videos!
happy 4th! thanks so much 🙏
Another day in paradise! The water was perfect and the catch was awesome.
glad you enjoyed it!
Wow Aaron and Will. The sunrise is so beautiful 😍 and so peaceful
was a lovely morning!
I’ve only used down scan units. It’s amazing to see how that side scan picked up all the details. So cool. Thanks for another great video.
def was wild to see
I totally agree with the way you dispatch of those crabs 🦀. As you say boiling alive is inhumane and should be stopped as we all should know better.
Great video as always.
🙏
HAPPY 4TH...GREAT DECK CHAIR
haha happy 4th!
The horizon shots looked like The Truman Show. Thanks for your content.
haha it was wild!
What an awesome way to have lunch. From the sea to your table. Don’t get No fresher. The water was glass.
never gets old
I love this morning views. It’s amazing
me too
I always learn something new in every video... thank you for all of your honesty and transparency... noone does it like you.
love to hear it!
100% interested in a night time channel crab video....or even a night dive in general !
hoping the reef will clean up soon so I can get out there!
A little vinegar in the water will make the meat release from the shell. It works with steaming as well. I dont care for butter either. My favorite dipping sauce for crab/shellfish is half soy and half vinegar. Filipino soysauce has a malty taste to it.There is also a variation with pineapple in it. You can add some shopped shallots or crushed garlic as well. Love your videos as always!
yea I normally throw vinegar in there totally forgot! will have to give that sauce a try!
Cool video, can’t go wrong with some good crab
thanks for watching!
that's a great opening.
glad you enjoyed it!
I grew up with a paper recorder. I kept my paper to put marks on my spots. So wish we had side scanners back then. Love your videos.
haha very different times!
What a day, what a sky.
Love the video.
it was lovely!
yep fwc has closures to clean up old traps as others have noted. One thing I haven't seen mentioned, don't know about lobster traps, but most crab traps have a wood slat or netting that's supposed to rot out within a few months so they're not trapping crabs forever.
yea they do but still a few months is alot of crabs.
Awesome video thanks buddy for sharing 👍
Thanks for the visit
Aaron, you might be aware of this already but side scan technology is over 10 years old. The bass guys are all using Livescope aka Forward facing sonar. You can literally watch fish take your bait. I think it would be ideal for the depths you dive. You can pull up and see if fish are on the spot without having to get in.
yea I'm aware, just haven't caught up with the times. i'm all about using my resources but after a certain point I think it takes away from some of the fun!
@@KeyWestWaterman I don’t have even have sidescan. The guys are bent over on the front deck staring at a 12” screen all day long. It’s not for me, either. My game is redfish and trout on the southern end of the Texas coast. We use topwaters, spoons, some plastics and live bait. Redfish prefer mullet, trout want croakers. I just throw a 5 ft net. You have probably been down here, it’s an endless area of shallow water. Inshore is world class. The offshore bite can be awesome as well because not that many people do it. You have to run like 70 miles to hit the shelf. Big party boats doing overnight trips are popular. They do really well on snapper and tuna. Anyway… you’re awesome dude, keep the vids coming!
I really look forward to seeing your posts thanks for what you do.
I appreciate that!
Good vid today ! That flat water looked really nice.
AND, The more I see You using the forward controls
the better I like it. Room to walk around the lawn chair on deck..............
it'll grow on ya! haha
Absolutely glorious, I don't know how people don't believe in God seeing his creations. If you don't believe then no disrespect!! I just can't fathom it. I love what you do and have so much respect for you and your respect for the ocean life.❤😊
Much Thanks KWW. Happy 4th to you, Madeleine and Will as well❤ Sea looks so serene. Enjoyed as usual
happy 4th!
You had me at the morning Key West water mirror image..!!!!😎👍👍👍
Totally a glass.water day!! Happy 4th
haha thanks for watching!
love the old school lawn chair
haha love em!
Man I wish we had side scan we did the drag method. Almost looks like my old rock piles off sheriff's island and big pine ocean side of coupon night. Well away from the brain corrals. Thank you for the memories keep carrying the torch from a old ramroder.
yea thats what I grew up doing as well! thanks for tuning in!
Beautiful day, another great day, today should be awesome as well. Be safe brother, happy 4th.
happy 4th!
Another great show Capitan, thanks! Glorious conditions.
Those spider crabs were huge, thanks for showing us how promptly you dispatched them. I was hoping your buddy would have speared a fish too! Next time. Looking forward to viewing your next show. Keep safe
next time for sure! thanks for coming along
Wow! Best open ever! You’re killin’ me. It’s a slicker.
was a beautiful morning!
@@KeyWestWaterman and thanks for not poking that hog. I agree they do need a little more time.
You're really enjoying that crab great job.
Yes I am!
SIIIICK intro absolutely beeeeutiful
glad you enjoyed it!
Wow! What an opening for your video today. No need to say a word. ❤ simply beautiful . We have sides can and don’t know how to read it. Lol
was a lovely morning!
Happy 4th to you, Aaron. I enjoyed the educational aspect of this video in addition to the view of the calm ocean. Stay safe.
happy 4th! thanks for tuning in
Wow talk about glass, mornings like that are always special. You could also use a Nutcracker, works better than a hammer..
thanks for the tip!
Aaron, love the shots from the front of the boat, totally understand why you went with the front steering. Keep it up!
its a blast!
Awesome! We need a sheepshead spear and cook one day, 👀
I did one a few months back
Great Video. I have a side scan but have not learned how to use it. This video helps a lot Thank
glad It helped!
Excellent as always, I would use the water from boiling to make pasta and sauce...
glad you enjoyed it!
Happy 4th yall!!! Thanks again for another rad video and showing some gheenoe love 🤘
happy 4th!
Happy 4th buddy... catch ya next week
happy 4th!
Cool. I’m taking my maiden boat voyage soon. Ran into some ear problems recently. Don’t have side scan but look forward to putting the work in finding my spots. I’m super into the night dives from the boat too.
best of luck!
I just been researching side scan for the last 2hrs and bumbled into this! Sweet!
haha love to hear it!
Always excited for Mondays! Let’s go!!!!
🙏
Spent many years with my gheenoe mostly in Miskito lagoon. Put in at crossover or Playalinda. Only saw one kind of boat that worked better for those conditions. The bait boats. Flat bottom, pointed bow with helm at the front like yours and the kicker, the motor located mid way up the hull through the hull where a console would normally be. They looked home made.
yea I've seen a few of those in my time wild boats! grew up fishing the lagoon as well.
The FWC has a trap eradication program every off season. Certain commercial fishermen are hired to bring in as many derelict traps as they can find. to the best of my knowledge they are the only ones allowed to do this. Hope this helps.
thats what I hear, hope to get in on it next time
Happy Independence Day Broseidon Lord of the Brocean!!!!! Epic Day on Glass Yeeeeeewwwwwwww
happy 4th! thanks for watching!
👍 Watching your channel 👍 Hello from Virginia my friend 🇺🇸
thanks for tuning in!
What a great video! I’ve always wondered about side scan and you broke it down super simply. Thank you. I noticed a sheepshead as soon as you got in on the first dive. I know they are not prevalent down there but that would be a great catch, clean and cook to do. Delicious fish. Nice beach chair Clams 🤣. Keep grinding! 🤙🏽
glad you enjoyed it! and I've done it before, if I saw more of them I'd shoot more.
I just found out my Dad knows of you. I have been around boats my entire life. My father is an accomplished offshore power boat throttle man. Since his retirement he became the Captain of a Viking Princess Yacht. His client hired you for a lobster trips a couple years ago. The big boat is 3, One and One.
If I remember correctly I picked them up from the Perry, too funny small world!
Hello there boys n girls, may the fourth be with you. Yeah baby we got the gheenoe today , I was telling my wife yesterday I miss seeing that beautiful thing. Will looked really comfortable back there on that chair. Thanks Aaron once again for the awesome content.
haha glad you enjoyed it!
Even when we have unbelievably good weather up here in WA state, you STILL make me jealous of how nice it is in the Keys. Have a great 4th of July guys!
haha i'm sure its beautiful! happy 4th!
Wow! Unreal scenery!!
glad you enjoyed it
Great video. I learned a lot from your Technique and attitude. I'll be honest. I was really rooting for Will to come up with a fish. I mean, even like a sheepshead or something small. He would have made something delicious😂
love to hear it! and I always am! haha next time
Great video as always. You probably already know this but that ringing is tinnitus. I used to only hear it when it was quiet. I thought that’s what you heard when there wasn’t any sounds. Nope! Now I hear it all the time.
I wouldn't be surprised. thanks for tuning in!
BEAUTIFUL WEATHER AND DIVING !!!!!
thanks for coming along!
total glass...makes my soul feel good
always!
Awesome ep these are the type I love.
🙏
Gorgeous day. Digging your new boat.
Us too!
I add vinager when boiling blue crabs. It softens the shell. For the pot you were using, try 2 oz.
yea I normally do forgot to mention it!
Streaming 4k on the big screen...WOW, great work, it looks amazing!
haha hope it looked good!
Truly beautiful. That opening should be your intro.
was a lovely morning for sure!
Happy 4th to you as well.
Hanging out today in Key Colony Beach enjoying the nice weekend! Is silky smooth out in the water
happy 4th! thank you!
Glass day. Yay....I cant believe people sell spots!!! Fishing in the Keys has just taken on a new meaning.
was lovely! and yea is strange to me
That was slick cam out there. I remember finding a huge spider crab in a dumped washing machine near Safety Harbor. I wanted to grab it for dinner but I wasn't about to reach in there. 😂
Edit: That side scan sonar (albeit different brand) is very useful. There's a channel that searches for missing people that they suspect have driven into bodies of water. Some have been missing for many years.
😂
Put a little vinegar in the water and it will make the crabs pick a lot better. And you won’t taste the vinegar.
yea I normally do, forgot to this time.
New ride looks good on the water
thank you!
Same to you. Love your videos
love to hear it!
I forgot to say this but I sometimes fry blue crab bodies with corn meal and there almost like soft shell.
thats pretty neat!
Happy 4th Aaron and Will, thanks for the great video 📹
happy 4th sir!
