Thank you SOO much for taking the time to explain your reasoning and sharing your ideas on keeping parts and pieces together. I was wondering, do you have any video on how to replace a jammed minute hand on a two or three chime movement? I'm trying my luck to repair URGO WU32/1 but cannot find a tutorial on minimal removing and replacing. Thank you👍

Are you having trouble getting the minute hand off the center shaft? They are typically just pressed on.

@@Chrisclockrepair Yes, that is correct. I was adjusting the time, a 1/4 turn until I was close to the desired time. As I passed the hour marker, something hung up and I heard a "Click", now I can no longer adjust the time using the minute hand and it will not advance under tension. The clock continues to keep time, but no more chimes.

@@daddyoalcaraz4030I am still not 100% certain I understand your situation. But if the minute hand turns, but does not advance the time to actuate the chimes, the bushing on the minute hand may be loose and spinning . In this case the hand will turn, but not actually turn the shaft of the clock. The fix for this is to tighten the hand bushing. If thats not the problem, you may have a bent center shaft or worn center shaft pivot hole causing excess resistance. Does that make sense to you?

Sounds like you might have something jammed in the movement, you should be able to turn the minute hand without the bushing in the hand slipping, make sure the snail cam and rack aren't jammed on something

@Chris clock repair yes and no. The minute hand/center shift got jammed and now I cannot advance the time smoothly without extra torque. The clock ticks, the snail and train both rotate but the minute had just will not budge

Hi Chris Do you have a video of a Quail Cuckoo movement? How about a three weight Cuckoo movement ? Thanks Bob

Robert Horneman Hey Bob. I have a video of various cuckoo clocks with different music boxes (3 weights), however I haven’t finished the editing. I don’t have any quail videos yet.
Is there something specific on the three weight you would like to see or know?

@@Chrisclockrepair i would like to see a video of the reassembly of the three weight and quail cuckoos.I have done several of them but still have trouble locating the levers. Just wondering if there is an easy way? I could send a quail movement and maybe you would do a video?. I will watch for your three weight video.

Robert Horneman Okay. I will start with the 3 weight assembly movement first and go from there. I currently have 9 clocks I am working on so give me a little time, but I will get a video up soon. I am assuming you are referring to the levers that actuate the music box and the levers that operate the strike of the cuckoo bird. Is that correct?

@@Chrisclockrepair The music box is operated by a main wheel. Yes I am referring to the levers that operate the strike of the cuckoo and the actuation of the music box. I find it very difficult to install the two brass pieces that ride on the cams for the cuckoo and music. I will be watching for your next video.
