A classic. Stevie has the most beautiful recognizable voices ever. Tom had a great voice as well. We'll miss you Tom! It doesn't hurt that Stevie is gorgeous as well lol.
She's accompanied by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. It's actually a Tom Petty track that Stevie laid claim too. Petty and the Heartbreakers are one of the biggest Rock bands of the last 40 years
Yeah Jimmy Iovine was producing and mixing albums for both Nicks and Petty and Petty didn't like the song and didn't want to put it on his album so Iovine without Petty knowing basically gave it to Nicks who he also dating at the time. He then had to go back and ask Petty if he could let Nicks have it and wanted to record it as a duo. Petty was pissed but let him do it and agreed.
He gave it to Stevie because be wasn't going to put it on his Album. Also he switched rolls and gave her his lines. He thought it was a more interesting arrangement. Girl did not lay claim on this song!
@@marylarrimore3950 I watched a documentary called The Defiant Ones it tells the story of Jimmy Iovine and Dr Dre and how they came together and made the beats headphones and there work at Interscope Records. It's really great they tell stories from there beginnings in the music industry up until they sold Beats. It's really fantastic! Jimmy Iovine told the story.
Every time I hear this song, I am thrown back to 1981!!!! And I feel that time line!! You should react to Stevie's 'Beauty And The Beast'!!! and 'Leather And Lace' with Don Henley!! It's a GREAT song!!
Love her and That is the late great Tom Petty singing with her. I love him too. Check out Tom Petty and the heart breakers song "don't do me like that" and Stevie Nicks duo with Don Henley "leather and lace"
Yes India, more Stevie!! Stand Back by her is great (inspired by Little Red Corvette and Prince plays keyboards), or Fleetwood Mac GYPSY. thanks for doing Mac & Stevie reactions!!
I don't get why all India cares about in a song is the Lyrics? To me I mostly just care if a song sounds cool, it could be saying "stop chasing my dog around" for all I care.
You could say these two had chemistry! History! Imagine singing with the object of your 'frustration'? Stevie is substantial, with all due respect to memory of another great artist, Tom Petty.
Tom Petty...”American Girl”.....and there are a lot of Stevie songs that are pretty amazing. Stevie said she wanted to be part of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.....Tom said no......but they were very good friends....
@@DaphnesRelaxingSounds Any wise man would have. Sadly not many had that wisdom lol. Tom was smart denying her access to the band honestly. She would have wrecked it as hard as she did Fleetwood Mac. I love Stevie, but we should be honest about her.
Forgot how good this was. All us 80s little girls wanted to be Stevie when we grew up, lol, she was so pretty and mysterious, and her voice is so distinctive. No one else sounds like Stevie, cuts like a knife.
The Late Great Legendary Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers with Legendary Stevie Nicks from Fleetwood Mac. One of the top duets in music history in my opinion. Two Angelic voices. India will fall for Tom as bad as she did Rod Stewart. Mary Janes Last Dance, American Girl, Don't Do Me Like That, Refugee, Wildflowers, Freefallin, Lucky You Found Me. I could go on forever. Damned the Torpedoes just start with it, she will be forever hooked.
I have been in love with Stevie Nicks since I was a young girl back in the late 70's. Still am. She's a beautiful soul and wonderful voice and ability to write such intriguing lyrics.
Stevie and Tom had a great friendship. She turned to Tom a lot to get advice and Tom helped produce a lot of her solo music. RIP TOM! In her autobiography, she said she sang this song to Dan Henley (Drummer of the Eagles). They did not have a clean breakup.
This is a beautiful duet. Tom Petty and the White Witch..Stevie. He was in love with her. Some of his songs were about her. Way back in the day..I think he always loved her until he passed. So sad and true. Damn. Great song.
This was released 1981 loved the 80’s. Madonna 1989 had a love song called “Cherish” I feel like it’s a forgotten gem for me nothing beats “Crazy for you” but cherish great song.
Stevie is amazing. Her back catalogue is well worth diving into. For something different, try “Times Square” by Marianne Faithfull, the live version. Very powerful song.

Stevie is really known for her duets check out leather and lace with Don Henley check out call me friend with Kenny Loggins. And my favorite with John Stewart into gold
They are so young here... oh man. I remember my first time hearing this High school 1981 when a two friends him on guitar and she just sang. They did Leather and Lace as well Man seems like yesterday yet so long ago.
Tom wrote this song. She had no part in it! His record label pressured him into a duet with Stevie. He wasn’t exactly thrilled about it. I’m glad he did it anyway.

Supposedly, nobody would be a heartbreaker except for who was in the band. Stevie Nicks was adopted as an honorary member of the heartbreakers after this compilation. Can you blame them? The way their voices complement each other, it was just the right fit. Certain singers are good together. WTH these two, their vices blend automatically and are iconic.

Clyde Barrow can you imagine how many more LPs he would have cut had he been alive? Way too young!
Stevie also lost her best friend and backup singer. Rip..
Stevie was an Honorary Heartbreaker, She also toured with Tom for many years, lifelong friends.
Mike Campbell from the Heartbreakers took over duties for Lindsey Buckingham on the last Fleetwood Mac tour.
