The story follows the Europol robot detective Gesicht in his attempts to solve the case of a string of robot and human deaths around the world where all the victims are found with their heads twisted off. The series is a suspenseful murder mystery that draws in the seven great robots of the world and the preservation of a set of laws that grant robots equal rights. The manga has been praised for its thoughtfulness and emotional depth, as well as its exploration of the relationship between humans and robots. Pluto is a highly gripping and engrossing story that has been recommended for fans of science fiction and manga.

I’ve seen hundreds of anime. As far as anime goes Pluto is phenomenal. This is an anime for people that like learning and discovering with a main character. That like anime who have real world situations, problems, allegories, and deep rooted metaphorical symbolism. This is NOT an anime for someone that needs none stop action, surface level characters, and a story that takes more than 3 seconds to understand. This is one of those anime's that requires deeper level thinking than One Piece, Dragon Ball, etc…

Overall, it's an anime for adults who want more than the endless pablum of power levels and waifu we're constantly being fed. Not quite as good as the comic but anime rarely are.

The "asian war" that predate the actual story-line is apparently analogy to Iraqi war in 2003.
Which was pretty recent thing when Urasawa's manga was written that this anime series is pretty accurately based upon.
The president of Persia's appearance was kind a straight giveaway but there are a lot more coincidences.

Pretty good anime series too bad not a lot of people talk about it when it came out weeks ago on Netflix but they adapted everything from beginning to end but I was waiting for this video last week but better late than never, funny enough these 8 episodes is the same number of volumes for the manga .For me this rating for this anime is around a 8/10 for me

That was a huge letdown. The whole thing is about Androids / robots having feelings and crying 🤦🤦. Waste of time

Things aren't master pieces because a few UA-cam creators say so.
You dont NEED to have seen ASTRO boy. But knowing of the parallels would definitely enhance your enjoyment.
It was kind of dull due to the pace. We've seen these themes before.

I'm watching these UA-camr talk about it and none of them said this. Robots developing feelings IS a nice concept but as soon as they started crying I was out

Ah yes, I didn't know Naoki Urusawa only made this manga in September 2003 to cater to a western audience because he didn't have "boob windows". Anime has truly fallen. Billions must watch kino and be reeducated.

i give this series a D. its way too long. too many episodes. took what should have been 3 or 4 episodes and made it 3x longer then it should have been. man, so many back stories were useless and overly long on character development. its like Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series. put me in a coma. the books just never stop and endless. hated that book series too.

I can agree its bit long and it could've been shorter, im middle of watching the Tetsuwan Atom (2003) so i have to see how this arc plays out in the actual anime.

Another person who needs constant jingling keys in front of them for constant stimulation, otherwise they you get “bored.” No appreciation for pacing, dialogue, atmosphere. Just a desire for ACTION ACTION ACTION all the time.

Agreed, this show was so slow and predictable, ancient concepts of AI, AI that just run into a death tornado without any planning or any preparations, detective Gesicht who gets all the pieces literally handed to him. It was beautifully animated though, too bad the story is a boring mess.
