To be honest I like that amp more than most of all the modern high gain amps. Put a Tubescreamer or whatever OD Pedal in front of it and there you go. I think it's kinda funny how so many great metal albums were recorded with amps like the SLO, JCM800 etc and we all consider them to be our holy grails but on the other hand people buy all these new High gain monsters and be like „hehehe more gain, lets put 4 fortin OD pedals in front of it hehehehe“
So, I'mma say something that I swear is a compliment - hear me out. You remind me of Ringo Starr in his time with the Beatles. What do I mean by that? My house was super into the Beatles growing up in the 90s, and so I saw a lot of video as a kid. And you could tell that Ringo was just having a goddamn BLAST playing the drums. Like, the joy was palpable. He was having SO. MUCH. FUN. I swear, nobody has more fun riffing than you. The joy is palpable. And just like Ringo made me want to play the drums, watching you absolutely makes me want to riff out, haha.
Same here. I'm not into metal at all although I can appreciate the skill it takes to pull some of it off. The reason I sub to and watch this channel is the enthusiasm and obvious fun he's having. That's why I play too. I do appreciate the gear comments too. They've been useful to me.
Also, the chorus thing has been creeping back into vogue for a minute now. Around the time that the Walrus Julia was showing up on everybody's board, people started talking about chorus again, thinking about chorus. Love to see it making its way into the heavy scene now too :D
Ah, a Soldano - old school tone. That's what I thought at first...but man, I think you can get really, really great modern high gain tones out of this things. Althoug I do already have several Neural DSP plugins (and tons others as well) I think I'm sold on this one. And hey, it's their first Non-archetype plugin that include post-FX as well :-)
I do hope that you someday get the opportunity to play the real amp. The old Soldano SLO is one the best sounding amps I ever played. Great demo as always!
I own the Nembrini BST100 V2. The NDSP seems to have more bottom end than I am used to hearing on the traditional amp, even when comparing both models with the same cab IR and trying to match the tone. Either is a truly amazing option. NDSP did a fantastic job on SLO plugin though! 👍
Hmmm ....hmmmm gonna wait might try Gojira before this. Not bad sounded but I don't feel like I'm gonna die if I don't buy it. It sounds good but I still love ml burger and duper amps more. Great review.
I’ve been thinking of picking up a NeuralDSP product lately. Never really wanted to give them a shot because I try to not use what everyone else is to be different, but Nolly and Gojira really do sound great. This thing does sound good and has a lot of versatility with all the plugins, but I have a hard time justifying paying only $40 less than Nolly which has 4 heads and cabs vs this one only having 1 of each Have you tried the Nembrini SLO?
Howdy Ray, been awhile. Didn’t you plug into a Soldano when you visited The Tone King? Could have sworn you mentioned playing one, but I’m old and I could be wrong on account of old man memory 🤔 🤷♂️
@@xanderraymondcharles haha that’s right, you did mention not liking it then either. Although the amp needs help from OD’s that tone you got in the demo is straight fire. I imagine if this amp/plug-in was in a quad track scenario with a more modern metal sounding and blended, it would sound pretty huge altogether. I’d use this amp/sim for the dry/pick attack tone and the modern amp/sim for the big squishy palm muted sound. And then blend them for the best of both worlds. Or potential overkill 😂
@@AtomMotherHeart for the next week. The amplitube version doesn’t have the EQ, pedals or Nollys impulses. I will most definitely be getting the amplitube and trying it.
Question guys... considering I got Plini, Nolly and Gojira already. Is the Soldano a good investment or am I covered well enough? Sort of undecided myself here.
That's up to you. I like those 3 because of the options. This one is like the NLS, you get one head and cab so you're locked into a sound. If the SLO is your style go for it
I would say even all those that you have are over the top. You definitely don`t need the Soldano especially when you have Nolly that has a 5150 that is VERY close to a soldano. At least thats what everyone says.
@@xanderraymondcharles love your stuff :) keep going my dude :) sidenote: this plugin takes analog pedals incredibly well .. just in case you get boored the next few days xD cheers from germany o7
I've been playing around with it too and I hate that it makes me want the amp because even the 30 watt version is £2,500. I could buy a Dual Rec and still have £150 left over haha.
Yesterday Ik multimedia said that you can download the Soldano slo 100 for free on their platform and today Neural Dsp releases his version of this amp. Hmm 🤔
@@kevinwhite6172 I have a tiny little amplifier that's loud as hell. A hotone. So apparently you don't need an output Transformer anymore. Can the computer by itself conduct loudness.
Did you enjoy playing through my presets? :)
😂
I like your channel and videos, and I love this plugin. It….slays….
Was fun watching you jam on my Prog lead preset! great video man!
Thanks boss. Congrats on all your success 🙌 you’re an insane player
Love the One Step Closer riff throw at the middle of the video

Yeah, I thought it sounded good, AND definitely capable of creating a modern metal tone.
Very nice bro! Sounds killer, I love the low end on that thing. It thumps

Neural always delivers
So fast 🥳🥳 amazing plugin

great ears!!!!

Great demo as always!
Nice amp man, I need to pick it up. Good video as always
Yo this is SICK I love it keep up the good content. :]
That sounds amazing
Sounds perfect for classic rock.
thanks. I thought it would be the usual downtuned djent stuff, but thank god only in the beginning. Great playing
New subscriber here. I'm digging your content man!
4:34 Sevendust's "Black"! One of my faves! You don't see that played on YT everyday. 😉
I can’t you picked up on that! Such a great song. Great band
one of the best debut metal albums of the 90s for sure. Up there with Burn My Eyes.
I was about to say the same thing. 7D is my favorite band of all time. Blood and stone hasn't left my car since October lol
Everytime you said „solid“ I could not help but expect to hear „solid 6 out of 10“ 😂
Nice man
This and cb4 from ml sound lab sound great! I need both in my life
I think for metal rhythm Omega Granophyre is still the best for me, but overall versatile plugin from Neural DSP would be Gojira;s one.
yeah the granophyre is just so insane. Hard to beat it.
pinches walk for days homie!
could there be a comparison between this and the Nembrini BST 100?

STL vrs ML Soundlab ?
I really like your guitar comparison vids, could you do a Jim Root Jazzmaster vs Mick’s Jackson! With and without drums.
I don’t own either of those guitars
Yo i seen that Romance is Dead riff 👀 OG Parkway Drive 🔥

I think if prefer this amp a lot more then say the Fortin stuff.

So I know nothing about plugins. Can you gig with a plug-in.
Yes you can. Just need a computer (obviously)
But where does the volume come from. And what do you plug it into an amp
