Flawless piping, no missed notes! Incredible and as one long Scottish descent it stirs me up every time I hear the Pipes. My younger brother Pipes for local Ohio Police band even though he is an aerospace engineer! Roots run deep!🇿🇦🇬🇧🇺🇸
240z2011 always grateful to Commonwealth soldiers who lost their lives on our soil - they came from New Zealand, Canada, South Africa, Australia, Nepal, Britain, etc
While Pipers continue to play at the Menin Gate my relative James Brown Low will never be far from home ! He left his home in Enochdhu , Perthshire , Scotland at the age of 16 to enlist in the Black Watch ( Royal Highlanders ) . He was given the Service Number 265918 and was sent to Flanders with his Unit , " A " Company 1st / 6th Battalion Black Watch . Killed in the Second Battle of Ypres on the 31/07/1917 and has no known grave . His name lives on on Panel 37 of the Menin Gate !
Love the pipes was bought up on them reduces me to tears everytime . Live in Perth Australia. My Dad was the Bass drummer of the City of Napier in New Zealand miss the pipe bands so much
Go Well. The city of Napier was always a great band. Possibly still is < I have lost touch > God bless always enjoy. Good luck to Perth, our daughter and her family live there,. Best regards. Brian Jacobi.
He wouldn't have had to wear the odd kilt if he'd not left his kilt on the bus after we played together at Tyne Cot cemetery. That was a real moving experience.
There is something so seriously Epic when it comes to Pipes and Drums. It's no wonder the enemy fled when this sound approached from the mists of the Glens
As Belgians it is our duty and privilege to remember them. The ceremony though not always as elaborate has been held continuously every night since the Great War ended. Except during WWII when the nazis prohibited it.
Whilst it is horrible that WWI touched nearly every community across the then British Empire, it it wonderful that those souls are remembered, both in their home counters and in the place they laid their lives down.
After I have traveled through New Zealand in December 2013, and I have seen all the war memorials in any small town, I can understand what that means for the people of New Zealand. New Zealand has paid in its terms of population number a high death toll in the First World War, or the great War. Every day to see a war memorial after another made me sad. I wish, John Lennons Imagine would come true.
So proud to be Scottish in this clip - I'm not one for the papparazi or photos in fact I'm not even on SM but know many a good kiwi and have a wee hip flask of Rum to sooth any Worry's?

With the possible exception of the Regimental Band playing at the advance of the 92nd at Waterloo, there is no better Pipe band on planet Earth.
