Sent this by Dougie, he and his wife encouraged me prior to playing at the ceremony! Tune is The Bloody Fields of Flanders
Bloody Fields is a wonderful tune in both retreat and slow march setting, and beautiful playing
I am a piper and I take great pride in saying, this piper was my teacher
Never tired watching and listening Neil.....EXCELLENT!!!!
One of the few who both look and sound the part-the benchmark we all strive for.
Thanks very much! Happy New Year.
Lest we forgrt! Thankyou
Thanks Neil. I’m very impressed with your piping and can see the respect and gratitude towards the fallen that you hold in the way you present yourself. Awesome job man!
Spot on tuning Neil. Pleasure to listen to, cheers.
That was beautifully played Neil .
Never forget that 50% plus of British casualtioe in WWI occurred in a100 mile radius of the Menin Gate
The death rate for pipers in WW1 was horrific. Out in the open. Unarmed, and drawing attention to yourself... 50% at the Somme.
Nicely played “ THE BLOODY FIELD OF FLANDERS “
Brilliant Neil.
Lovely Neil!
respect to you QS
Really nice!
Great Neil...martial 100%!!!!
Great Neil!!
Thanks
Nice to see people paying respect. Hopefully some countries will wake up and see the price of war 🤔
I've played that tune before but can't remember the name of it. Anyone know what it is?
The tune is The Bloody Fields of Flanders, by GS Maclennan, but it's played more towards the song set to the tune, "Freedom Come All Ye" By Hamish Henderson
😢😢😢
Neil, what is the name of this beautiful lament??? Awesome job by the way!
Thanks. It's not really a lament, but a 3/4 march played slowly. Its the Bloody Fields of Flanders
