Nope slowmotion at night is terrible. at 120fps it uses crop sensor and the noise is unbearable. Even at 60fps the image is terrible. You really only can shoot 4k 24/30 for decent low light settings.
+huyked Absolutely! Internal 4K recording was the only reason I didn't get the A7S. Now with 4K internally it's a very tempting camera. Not to mention the 5-axis stabilization.

+David Anderegg David, Sony will keep any overheating feature a secret inside their instruction manual rather than be upfront and mention it in their marketing. If it does overheat, considering this camera's video specs, it will obviously be a serious issue. I think Sony should come out and at least address new owners concerns as the A7Rii was sold hard as a great camera that straddled Video and stills.
I have an a7s that I've been using with Nikon glass and their Sony FE PZ 28-135mm (love and hate relationship) and have shot Incredible video to 25K iso . . . no complaints. Well, a little more color depth like 10bit would be nice but the aperture flexibility you have in controlling your shots with the ISO range makes a huge difference in production cost and value. Think about this, I just shot a music video starting at 5-10 pm on the cheap, the budget did not include a generator and lights. Lenses included in the shoot were nikon 85/f1.8, 35/f1.8, Tokina 11-16 and the love/hate sony 28-135. I'm still stunned at the image quality. I'll see about posting after release. Bottom line. Best value tool on the market . . . . I'm so glad I didn't buy the Atomos Shogun (I have the blade) because I knew Sony had to come out with an upgraded A7s with internal 4K. Yeah, I'm buying it!

Do you set two stops over with the exposure compensation dial. That's on top of the camera (a7sii) or you always leave that on zero. When doing videos ?

take it with a bit of salt, many a7s units have a purple flare when using high iso, sony service says it s not a fault so no fix or replacement. a7s owner
a7rii is better for photography. it's sharper has better iso performance. A7Sii wins for video. Better in low light, and has slogs and other cool video features. So far i'm deciding whether I should get this one or the mark iv. kind of a disappointment too
Iso 25600 seems to be as high as you should go without compromising detail. I wouldn't go higher than 25600. 512,000 is acceptable, but 25600 is super clean and already very high.
What are your objective (as possible) opinions? Is the image cleaner than the previous a7S? Is the usable ISO higher than the 50,000 that others had assess in the previous model?
If you have an A7s I see no reason to upgrade, the IS doesn't work in video it's for stills only, and the AF hmm maybe but I don't shoot stills with a 12 MP camera.
Mp57navy I do see quite a difference in quality and sharpness tween my 24mp Nikon and my Sony a7r2. So I tend to enjoy using it more, but not in lowlight, music venues, where the Sony is useless, and will not be able to focus as well as my Nikon, sadly.

It's beyond me that they didn't use the lens fully opened at f2.0 I own an A7S, and the shutter speed in low light should be 1/25 and video recorded in 24p for maximum light gathering. I don't see much improvement in low light than the A7S, which means my investment is safe! For extreme low light, just buy a very cheap Canon FD 1.4 lens

Put that sensor in a FS7 with internal DCI 4K RAW and you'll have a perfect camera.

my canon 1200d has the noise of a7ii's 406k iso in 3200 iso :'(
