Japan biggest aviation failure was not the loss of aircraft carriers, but their failure to quickly train up new pilots.

Niord gets Halland torpedos, albeit quadruple rather than quintuple racks. Karl XIV Johan has Östergötland torps, which do similar damage to those of Halland but only go 13.5 km (vs 15km). Gonna be an interesting ship to play, ngl Edit: Nvm, she does get quintuple racks!
To be fair Japanese cruisers were not supposed to launch torpedoes in mele. They were supposed to launch a spread of torpedoes at the enemy (American) fleet while they were in formation and either sink/damage enemy ships, or at least disrupt their formation. Then the Japanese battleline was supposed to move in and hit the survivors while the cruisers were supporting the destroyers and picking off damaged enemy ships. As a result of this they didn't need good torpedo angles.
So I have been playing since the start.. I maybe a little slow, but it seems that you should’ve playing this game either above the water or below.. being on the surface seems to be outdated
I think penetration stays the same (660mm) only the fuse timer changes depending on the bounce. Also remember that apart from 32mm overmatch those bombs also have improved richochete angles if something has more than 32mm plating. I think for a cruiser its gonna be better just to go full broadside against it... maybe - at least in light cruisers.
I am overjoyed to hear about the return of Asymmetric Battles, however I am slightly disappointed that they aren't making any changes to it. I was kinda hoping that they would increase the map roster a little because for some reason only like half of the maps were available so a little disappointed there, regardless it's nice to see it come back.
I was hoping it was coming back as a permanent game mode. Sounds like it's just another temp run despite many requests to make it permanent. I also agree it needs more maps, especially low tier, always the same map over and over for tier 6.
Wait when WG comes in with Fritz X. Once we got subs with guided torps, more is coming sooner or later. Btw I am not sure how much other ingame AP bombs are, but it was ok. When I played japanese and german CVs the only problem was spread and elipse reticle, also if you had 2 bombs per drop that was typically one left forward another one back right, nothing in aimed deck😅

So as we wait for the CV nerf they go ahead and buff a CV. Also if anyone is interested I found a hack of sorts while grinding my DD line and resetting it. I got to tier X and was killed early as I just wanted to play that one game and reset the line. I returned to the lobby before the game ended and reset the line. When that battle finished it gave me the tier X research points 2x. So I only needed to research that ship instead of buying it the next time I got to it as it gave me the points. This was done by accident, I do not cheat.
Interested in the Italian BB line,is it worth the grind for a more,lets say "German BB close combat main"player style ? SAP Sounds great,and smoke seems to get one out of most situations
Despite their short main battery range Italian BBs are not very similar to German BBs. Italian BBs are more for medium range to longish range because their secondaries aren’t nearly as good as German BBs and they have rather long reload. Plus their armor is rather weak.
It is a really fun line. They really do well in medium ranges, and are tanky when angled. Surprisingly so, as they tend to have low base HP values. I am almost never sunk in them. Consider getting the premium captain Sansonetti for them - first kill increases main battery range, short range is a drawback to these. Accuracy at long range is questionable but better than Germans. Secondaries are good T8 and higher. The 90mm guns are worthless, but you also have 152mm sec guns that put in work. Using smoke in close battles allows your secondaries to do good damage, then you finish them with the main guns after smoke runs out. Pulled out a lot of battles late doing this.

Despite she should be lighter than Zao, for some reason have the same HP as Zao. But again this is a game where many CLs has HP more than Zao because reasons. But I won’t complain this makes Yari players be Napoli 2.0 where they will try to Yolo torps you but dies miserably. Zao atleast need to be more logical to uses torps. I swear any Torps that deploys forwards always created cocky players. But hey, as a Yamato driver, I’m not complaining. Kitakami should have all torps reload independently tbh. Shinano getting a BUFF!? Is AP skip bombers with improve pen angles isn’t enough!? AND NOW IS OVERMATCH!? Boy what WeeGee is smoking!? It was never finished either. The air raids made them move the ship, and then it was sunk by one submarine.
