Robin, you are an excellent teacher. Thank you so much for clearly showing where you are counting from, where you are entering the stitch and pausing with your hands pulled away to show the results as you go!!
This reminds me of my grandmother’s hexie quilts she hand done. Such memories. I’m definitely making a king-size in the Fall, when it’s cooler to work on my lap. I’m so excited!!!
When I was quilting, I loved English paper piecing. This looks so much like it. I'm hooked! I already know what yarn from my stash I'm going to use for this. This is absolutely amazing. Thank you 🤩
Thank you for sharing, Robin! Love all of your tutorials and it's always a fun project. You are the best teacher and I appreciate each & every one of your videos!! Thanks again! 🧶❤️😊
Robin I absolutely love your channel. I love your yarn color selection(s) for your “sample” pieces 🤩. Your patterns….what can I say, they’re beautiful. So from one subscriber, please don’t stop. Thanks 😊
I've started Xmas gifts, with a large afghan of several blues, black, and gray first on the hook. Been practicing the alpine stitch for the colors to melt together a bit, but I think I'll do these instead and alpine stitch them together if I can figure it out. Thank you, Robin! 😊😊
Hi Robin!! You are so amazing!! I absolutely hated having to join after all pieces were made and now you have made. Several join as you go methods and now I love to try doing different ways like this!! Thank you so much!! You are appreciated!! Much love to you!! 😍 Such beautiful work!!!
Oh happy me, love English paper piecing hexagons and will have so much fun making up these from the odds and ends stash. A lovely pick up put done long project if that makes sense ❤
Hi Robin I’ve nearly finished the motif blanket, please can you put out a video on how to square the blanket off. I get that’s it’s a half motif but am struggling with the method, I notice a few of your followers have requested the same. 💜
Love this motif! So cute! I do have a question because I’ve never made something like this. Do you eventually join the sides as well or do they just remain open? Thank you for sharing this method!
Thanks again for another great tutorial. Do you have any tips or suggestions on in which direction to join them? I mean, did you do all 1 row first, meaning just a row of side by side motifs, then next row fill them in?
Do you mean for the white hexagons inbetween the flowers? I used the exact same method as I show in the video for joining - I simply made the flowers first and then joined in between them with white hexagons 😃

I have a question, i have no problem making the Hexi's but for the join i may be in a bit of trouble. Can this be stitched with the yarn to join? would it make it look too bad? i want this to be really nice but i'm afraid that me trying to do the join as you go would be a bit much for me. is there a second part to this tutorial? from what i can see we are making the body of the blanket with the same Hexi pattern and joining them with those?
Hello Robin I love your tutorials they are so clear and precise. But I have a query. You sound British and yet you use USA terms. Let’s say you were to make the 6 hexagons around a 7th center hexagon, which looks very much like the flower you have made here…. How many of these 7 hexagon “flowers” can make up a full blanket with a solid color in between them like you have here (the white) and how many of the white would we need? I assume they are all joined the same so you’d make the white and join as you go with it as well. Do you have a pattern for this as a blanket? Or is it meant not to be planned out in that respect.
I've not really got a plan for it as such, I started by making the 7 hexagon flowers, laid them out and then made a ton of the white ones to infill inbetween them (using the same JAYG) - it's very much an ongoing work in progress that I'll be adding to over the next few months (years?
