The depth of skill and talent in this band is unlike anything I’ve ever seen or heard. Amazing.
If you noticed the music box music at the beginning was "Anemone" as well.
Kanami's opening music box has me already in tears before the singing even starts!.....These ladies are so so so!..very special to us fans...There has been nothing like them for more years than many of us can remember...They can do ot all..For me ..they can do no wrong....They can melt your face..but also..melt your heart.......The contrast between the full on LIVE version of Puzzle with this acoustic is incredible!..it stuns me everytime I hear it....They put their heart and soul into playing LIVE for the fans....I believe it looks like Saiki got so emotionally involved singing these track, she was tearing up...hence her quick exit at the end....Kanami's playing and backing vocals just magical...She has said she didn't really like singing I believe?....But not sure on that one..She certainly looks to enjoy herself live...even singing along when she doesn't even have a mic infront of her..hehehe!....She has an adorable voice..which suits her persona so very much...As us fans know..her affection for Saiki is well know..So being able to perform like this must be like all her dreams come true!...This hits all the right buttons and ticks all the right boxes and then some...The emotion these ladies create within me as so mixed..I feel them all at the same time.. joy, happiness, sadness, bewilderment, confusion, ecstasy..It's hard to explain....Crazy when you think I don't understand 90% of what they singing or saying!...haha! (yes I read the lyrics..but you know what I mean)...They tie me up in knots....I am a slave..I have been DOMINATED!...Job Done!...Long May They Reign! 🥰
You are correct here, I don’t understand 90% of the Japanese lyrics, I don’t bother translating it but I somehow understand the message conveyed with each song. It’s the emotions that we feel when we listen to them, it evokes such feelings of love, longing, despair, hope and loneliness. This is in my opinion how good music should be, it transcends languages.
Saw them live twice this week. Best week ever. Greatest live band on the planet!
These two, Kanami is lead guitar and Saiki is the lead singer, weren’t in the last acoustic you watched for Sayonikidori. That acoustic had Miku (the small pigeon) who is the rhythm guitarist and co-vocalist, Misa who is the bass player, and Akane who is the drummer.
My best word to describe this performance, Bewitching.

I've never seen a full band performance of Anemone but it is, when push comes to shove my number 1 Band Maid song. The original studio version has my favourite drum track by anyone ever, I could listen to that on it's own and be happy. It is fortunate for me that there are multiple versions that are all brilliant, the original studio version, Band Maiko and this acoustic. Puzzle follows very close behind being in my top 4 with Blooming and Awkward. I forgot to mention that Saiki singing in that low tone is just something else.
Dang it, I've watched this many, many times and someone still starts cutting onions every time. Perfection.
Takin from the amazing Zepp Tokyo concert. Which also contains the incredible DON'T YOU TELL ME. A must see. Also this is Kanami and Saiki. The part in the middle is basically Kanami gushing over playing with Saiki. Her Love 😍😍😍
our little pigeon is Miku the one who sang Sayanokidori (wears a red rose). If you hear her speak she makes pigeon noises after every sentence. (In Japanese a pigeon/Dove - same thing in Japan - makes the noise Kuruppo or Po for short). She claims to be an 810 year old pigeon. Her name is Miku Kobato. Kobato translates to 'little pigeon'.
You REALLY need to hear the full live version of Puzzle (recorded at Studio Coast) it is a masterpiece! The song is about falling in love with someone who is already taken. In the acoustic Saiki sings with heartbroken sadness. In the rock version she sings with bitterness. Oh and Kanami just shreds on guitar the whole song!
You may be ready for some Band-Maiko soon! (a Maiko is a trainee Geisha). Hint hint.

That vocal style is what made me fall in love with Japanese music in the 1960’s. And Kanami’s harmonies are so delicate…..perfection
The intro chimes are the melody from the second Anemone- Kanami (Guitar) is the genius who composes all this music and as you can see sometimes sings beautifully. If Saiki (Blue flower) was singing in English she would be internationally famous by now. I well up every time I hear this. See how quiet the crowd is- great respect for the artists. Great reaction yet again- I'm still with you on your journey. Kanami has a thing for Saiki.
The fact that they can split the band into 2 completely separate groups that still create equally beautiful music is such a testament to their incredible talent as a band.
That's Kanami, she is the adorable master at playing guitar and making me smile.
I think it would be great if you reacted to Puzzle from their Studio Coast show. It is AWESOME and you can see the interesting way they converted it to the acoustic version.

This is the song I fell in love with Sai-chan's singing😍
They were in their regular maid outfits because this acoustic performance was a part of their normal live concert.
The other acoustic live video was from their special Christmas show where they were wearing non-maid outfits.

To get the full experience, at some point you might want to check out the full-band version of both songs. They are both extremely powerful and emotional songs, and were brilliantly re-arranged for this Zepp acoustic.

Love these songs and their acoustic are just as amazing as the regular songs. It really shows how beautiful Saiki's voice is and how sweet Kanamincho's voice is as well.

This is Kanami Tōno ("Mincho"), the lead guitarist, with lead singer Saiki Atsumi (Saichan).
Miku Kobato (rhythm guitar/main lyricist) is the pigeon.
Kobato = small pigeon. "ko" (small) + "hato" (pigeon or dove).
You should check out the regular version of these songs as well. There is a pro shot live version of Puzzle from 2017(?) that is a fan favorite that would be perfect.
Also, I'm sure everyone has already left comments, but the two in this video were not in the other acoustic performance you watched before. This one has the lead guitarist and song writer Kanami, and the lead singer Saiki. The singer from the previous video was Miku who does rhythm guitar, backing vocals, and writes the majority of the lyrics. Miku has a few solo songs where she takes the lead though like the one you watched.

You should see Kanami in a live concert video on UA-cam. The live video is titled "Moratorium Kanami solo". It took place in Berlin. It's like Kanami channeled a dead rock guitar star. She absolutely went crazy.
This concert was just a few months, (6 possibly 7) after Saiki had, had vocal surgery to remove nodules from her vocal cords. After the surgery she started working with a vocal coach to help her gain proper control of her voice/instrument. Over the years her control has just improved, until now today, she is a master at her instrument.
And as other have said, you really need to watch the full one version of Puzzle. While the acoustic version is a lament for a love that can not be held, and must be hidden from her lovers wife, the full on love version is a woman who is angry/furious that she has to hide her love from her lovers wife and cannot be with him.
And I've heard several stories about Anemone, but the general consensus is it is related to the death of someone known to the members of the Band, hence why Saiki takes off suddenly at the end of the song, as in higher quality versions it can be barely made out that her eyes are watering. It could just be sitting under the lights, or it could be the emotion of the song. There is a fan made video for the studio version of Anemone, which is very good. Using clips from a Japanese movie which I think match the emotions of the song. It is available on YT if you look for it. I'd post a link, but YT has been removing my comments when I post links.

Edited. The song, "Puzzle," is a song sung by a woman who has fallen completely in love with a cheating husband who will never leave his wife for her. She knows this love will destroy her, that she will never be happy again, but she can't stop loving him.
The electric version is sung with anger, bitterness about her situation. The acoustic version is full of sadness, regret, longing, desperation. It's heartbreaking and heartbreakingly beautiful. Even not understanding the words by the end you just want to comfort Saiki and tell her you'll do anything to make her feel better.

If you want more you should check out the acoustic version of 'Smile' It's unusual to see a reactor hear these songs first as we would normally be telling you about them after several other reactions. Once you have seen the live version of 'Domination' you will have been completely won over by these ladies. Truly they are rock legends in the making. Enjoy !!!
Loved this. Kamai and Saiki doing acoustic togethet is wonderful. Kanami's backing vocal is so ethereal. I get a strange mix of emotions watching and listenin to this, happy, sad and melancholic at the same time. Bye the way I just love trheirhard rocking instrumental From now On

I truely love how Saiki still allows Kanami's fawning on her and has played up it during the US tour..It's so adorable..melts my heart!🥰
Adding a little perspective for Joel. Kanami worships Saiki. She thinks she's the coolest. They all make a running joke about Kanami wanting to marry Saiki. The fan asked if Kanami was happy to be working alone with Saiki. Saiki didn't understand at first.

So, you should do the rock version of Puzzle. You'll have to find it on Bilibili. This performance features Saiki (lead singer) and Kanami (lead guitar). They weren't part of the acoustic song you reacted to before All these songs are written by Kanami. She has a sweet voice but doesn't usually sing. She prefers to focus on the lead guitar part. Kanami and Miku (rhythm guitar/second vocal and the 800 year old pigeon), are the core of the band. Kanami writes/develops the songs and directs the band through the creative process. Miku is the leader, up front in promotions and on the stage, and writes the lyrics). The other three are just monsters (as you saw with Saiki's vocals in this version of Puzzle).
In the regular version of the songs Co singer Miku is doing the backing vocals. Here guitarist Kanami's sweet soft voice fits the acoustic version just right. (Oooh Baby 🎶) This performance is from 2018. The other acoustic set up was recent and the only time they performed not wearing maid outfits. In between songs Kanami going on and on thanking everyone for selling out the show then singer Saiki is telling her that they don't have all night lol. BTW.. Did you degrade the video quality of this performance or is my old VCR calling for its 240p video back?? Lol
If you do another acoustic song may I recommend "smile". All members are playing live and is also a beautiful song..

If you come to a point where you can't find MV's as such for some BAND-MAID tracks...Check out "P in D²" 's channel...He has some rather nice picture collages to go with those tracks...So you can still enjoy seeing the ladies while listening to the tracks...Because..why wouldn't you want to!?🥰..His also matches up the pictures with whats going in in the track if he can..Which is cool!.
repeating the obvious, but this isn't the same singer (here, Saiki, Lead vocalist) as in Sayonakidori (Miku, rhythm guitar, 2nd vocals except on a few songs where she takes the lead). Saiki's voice and stage presence has gotten even better since this was recorded by the way :) The guitarist here (Kanami, lead guitarist) is also the main composer of most of their songs ... and apparently also "Japanese Hentai", according to Miku in one of their last gigs last week ;)

Classic BM! I think I'd be hyperventilating within 30 seconds. Our Mincho forgot to give poor Sai-chan anyplace to breathe. But she kind of does that a lot - I think that's why she spends so much time sucking up to the queen. (KIDDING!! - don't kill me)
