Can you imagine if someone went to the BBC with an idea for a programme like this now? "Right guys, we get boys to ride motorbikes over big obstacles, jumping ditches and there's a chance that they might break a leg. Can we show this on Saturday morning tv?"
SixEightySeven I liked it too but it wouldn't be allowed on TV these days due to new health & safety laws, plus this no socks tight trousers pussy generation would no doubt be offended by it.
Those kids were all born Circa 1970. Making them in their early/mid forties today. Almost certainly with their own kids, possibly about this age. I wonder what the fathers are doing these days, and what their kids get up to? It would be interesting to find out. Maybe a one-off TV show?
I fucking loved this programme but it always presented a sense of incongruity in my mind - on one hand, Kick Start riders always seemed quite respectable, but around where we lived the only kids I knew with motorbikes like this were rough as fuck and lived in caravans. And I never saw any of them wear a helmet.
Hello mate, funny thing but, you have a chunk of the Movie fright on UA-cam. Sorry to ask this but, is it that film with the viaduct and also the merry go round "?
Ok mate, I saw a film many years ago where Dennis Waterman went off a viaduct, and the scene is amazing because of the height they fall, but it seems it's not this one. Sorry to bother ya.

Peter Purves's commentary is harsh and brutally honest (but fair). Thanks for the upload.
No helmets and a bike that stalled at the start. Classic british half term tv!
Great to see Kickstart again. I haven't seen it since about 1986...
I need to see more of this, its amazing...
Elf and safety would have a field day with that program now.
todays version is being filmed in london. theyve added stabbings to the game
wow, so remember this, remember Jeremy Cragg from Rochdale on it, fancied him lol
Don't be so blue, Peter!
Oh my days!!!! Awsome upload. What the hell has happened to British television????
I think they don't count penalties between obstacles. He just made it out of the obstacle before touching his feet down.

Phil S No, pal, it's a movie about a babysitter who's terrorised by an escaped psycho.

+mistofoles The American didn't have a north eastern accent so he isn't a yank. He sounds more mid western to me :).
