How about using a snap in the 4 corners of the windows, female on the cloth and male on the frame side, use a small metal center self tapping screw and sew in the curtain side via tight slit and heavy stitches around the edges ?? But very good job, love it
Great job. I’m renovation a cadet camper and truly appreciate those hard work you put into your camper and your review. Love that your off camping. ⛺️ like to say, “Don’t wait until its perfect…just do it (and have fun). 🇨🇦
My advice on the window magnets is, use steel screws that the magnets can stick to so the curtains can stick to the magnets. or adhere the magnets to the curtains permanently (sew them in) and place screws where they meet the window.
I had a Boler. I don't remember what year, but probably a later model year. Mine had a larger entry door window. It was very easy to pull and maneuver. I towed it with a '98 VW Jetta. The turning diameter of the Jetta was the same as the combination with the trailer. I could do U-turns in the middle of two lane roads. But, the best part was the interior room. Almost everyone that came into my Boler were surprised by how spacious it was, compared to its exterior appearance. I joked that they were actually inside The Tardis (Dr. Who reference), which is also amazingly spacious on the inside. I took it on a 2,000 mile road trip. I discovered some age related problems with the trailer on that trip; it was "tired". Anyway, my Boler had the entry door problem, which requires removing the body to properly fix the frame. This was more than I want to do. I got a good deal on it, and I knew I could sell it for more than what I paid, so that's what it did. But, I wish I would have kept it and fixed it up.😮💨
In regards to heating, you have two good choices and a fair one. Using a propane RV furnace, a newer version of what the Boler came with originally, has similar downsides to the diesel heater, it is noisy and bulky. However, both of those install inside cabinets, so they are out of the way. The propane takes about the same amount of time to start up, but no high electric draw, the fan is the only power draw and that is similar to the diesel heater. The propane tank would easily mount to the trailer tongue. Some gas stations will fill the tank while it's mounted, but others are strict about their policy that you remove the tank from the trailer and set it on the ground before they fill it. Which is a pain. The diesel heater is safer in an accident, because diesel does not ignite easily. Propane is quick to start a fire if there is any small leak. Where the diesel heater shines for a lot of camper nomads, is when they are driving a diesel powered van. They tap into the vehicle's diesel tank, so they do not need a fuel tank for the heater. Both propane and diesel heaters exhaust their combustion gases outside, which reduces the chances of carbon monoxide poisoning. Propane does produce CO gas, but the diesel heater don't if it's properly running, but either way it's going outside rather than in your camper. That said, having a CO detector a good idea. The third option, a propane "catalytic" heater. There are true catalytic heaters that are in the $500 price range, and the camping models that are $80-$120. The true catalytics are safer and more efficient. Both do not produce carbon monoxide when properly functioning. However, since their exhaust is going into your living space and malfunctions are crucial to discover. So having a CO detector or two is vitally important. Just as they exhaust into your living space, they also use oxygen that you need to breate, so you must crack a couple windows open when using them. Another big drawback to these is that they increase the humidity a lot. So when with the windows open slightly, you will get condensation inside your camper, which will increase chance of mold, especially aroud windows.
Hi Ellie, disc sanders are for quick removal of material and ARE used on an angle. Get yourself a good finishing sander for smoothing and work through the grits to desired smoothness.
The glue you want for adhering magnets to aluminum window frames is 100% silicone. Use it sparingly, and hold the magnet in place with blue painter's tape for a day until the silicone cures completely. And clean both the magnet and frame with either acetone, lacquer thinner, or as a last resort isopropyl alcohol before gluing. This is guaranteed to work.
Hi Ellie. I was considering either the Dickinson Newport Propane Stove that vents to the outside see Slim Potatohead UA-cam channel for his install and then his update video. Or I was thinking of installing the Camco Olympian Wave 6 catalytic propane heater. It doesn’t vent to the outside but it throws more heat and is totally not dependent on electricity. I won’t need a heater until next winter, so I still have time to decide. Perhaps E6000 glue in transparent would solve your curtain hanging issues. The glue takes forever to dry, but once it does it Please could you start filming some of your camping adventures? I know I would enjoy living vicariously through you until my Casita is finished. Thanks.
Hey thanks! And yeeeeahh it was challenging to install, I have used it a few times since filming this episode and I do love how well it heats, but gosh it's loud and takes up space. I don't think that I'm swearing off these heaters in the future, I just think that there's a time and a place and in a tiny camper. It's not really the best option since it's so cumbersome and sound has nowhere to hide in a little egg 🫠

oh i didnt consider a snap! great idea, i will pin this so it can be useful to other viewers thank you!
Just found your videos, working through them slowly, you are so multi talented, filming is first class
I watched all your videos. I really admire you attitude when you fail. It didn't stop you. You thought of a way to solve the problem
I rather look at as not a failure, but learning how NOT to do something
thank you William !
Great what you are doing keep it up

oooh okay this is a great tip, we live and we learn 😅.. thanks Robert!
Great tips!

It is all 20/20 you did a great job !!!
Great job!!! Looking forward to the next restoration. 👍
Thank you!! 😚
Very good tips. Thank you. As for heat, the dickinson marine heater sips propane and battery power. Very economical. Works for me.
ooh okay thank you so much, im going to check this out for my next project!
Nice job. Video was entertaining, informative and well presented. Can't wait to see more installments on your projects
thank you Dave!
OMG! You are perfectly sublime... And quite handy as well..:)

Good job
Much better without the sunglasses. Boler sits high. Good for bushwhacking. 👍👍
Try installing those magnets into the wooden frame??
Hi Ellie. Great job it looks good stay safe and enjoy 🫶👍🇬🇧(PS looking forward to the next one)
I watched all the videos, Overall I thought you did a great job.I would never install a diesel heater again, bad memories lol.

A propane furnace is best. I use one in my camper. Also add a carbon monoxide detector. Just stick it to your cabinet.
+1 for the CO detector
i have one installed, you can see it as we enter the boler under the fridge.. thanks so much for watching :)
@@OnlyCampers We must've been distracted by your beauty
your video,s are so beuatiful and te boler and you looking olso beuatiful
Thank you so much 😀
@@OnlyCampersi watch from te begin when start building whit the boler
