- Beautiful tribute to Rika. Easily my favourite song off the entire album. "This next song is for the love of my life; and for the person who really truly saved me, and helped this album actually come into existence."
Sad that this is one of the more unpopular songs. This was beautifully written with raw emotions that you don't see a lot these days. As a musician, I greatly respect and appreciate Porter for who he is and what he makes.
This is my favourite song on the album for sure.

This song instantly reminded me of my grandmother who recently passed away after her year long fight with cancer and coincidentally I was looking at older pictures while the song was playing in the background. The feels man!

This song immediately made me think of my girlfriend and I and it hit me like a truck, never has a song made me cry and it made me cry so much I had to replay it. It's probably the most beautiful song I've ever heard personally and one of my absolute favorite porter songs ever. Nurture is a beautiful album from beginning to end

I have cried about 15 times over this rendition, I can't help it. The very last part where he just breathes out the last bit, it breaks my heart every time.

Pay attention closely to the end of the studio version next time you listen to it, you can hear him 'gasp breathing' because he's trying to not cry as he sings the last verse.

I always felt this to be a breakup song. but idk why everyone is saying this is for his wife/girlfriend. when I listen to this, it always reminds me of my first love whom I dumped(yes I know) and I always cry
@@zhihanpeng7033Porter himself said it's for his wife(girlfriend at the time). It's about loving her so much that he's struggling with mortality, and her bringing him out of that fear. I see it as sort of a thematic sequel to Sweet Time
yeah I get that. and of course Porter can't make a song about a breakup with another person and put it in his album even if he really had one. I didn't know anything about Porter and the first time I listened to it the lyrics fit so well with my broken heart, especially the "so at last, goodbye, I'll be happy just to have known you" part, I always cry because that's something that I know I will have to say but don't dare say until all hopes for being back to where we were are gone. and I thought it's someone saying goodbye to someone they used to love, I didn't know it meant death, and I always carry my own understanding for it despite everyone else saying it's for his girlfriend because this song hits so hard with my personal feelings it's the only place I can cry and feel someone is with me on my feelings. I just can't let it go T_T
