@@datbuild Hard top 1.9 tdi Got a steal. It’s 03 and only done 112k miles (110 when I bought it) It has winter pack so A/C, heated seats. Have a look on my channel I’ve a few vids of it Take care bro 🤙🏽🤙🏽
I hear you. I'll be doing a future video, showing the absurdity of living with coilovers on the roads I face. Already unbearable, with factory sports suspension on my daily.
One question, i have also uses these type of suspensions and my rims size 8x18 and tyre touches each other. So no space in between... How worked that for you out?
Still presently on the car. Wont be staying on there. Did them to see what coilovers were like, and to see what ride height I was happy to live with; long term. Will be going back to conventional suspension in the future. The roads where I live do not work well with the very stiff ride. On smooth ground, they're nice. On the roads I daily, not so much.
When I was doing the install, and was measuring against the oem height shock absorbers, there was about 1.25" less travel/ less height. Given the bumps are designed for full height, and I was going to lower it, the damper cut was required. Any notable compression would have easily resulted in fouling as there was barely any exposed piston.
Cheer up, you’ll fix it and be back to loving it asap.
Yeah. Definitely will. Frustrating none the less. Stupid mistakes.
Live and learn.
Yellow bug owner here 👍🏼🇬🇧
Haha, nice! Definitely taken a shine to the yellows! Hard top or convertible?

@@datbuild Thank you
Getting a nice yellow one is on my bucket list.
Also have coilovers on my yellow 03 vw.
I need to put them up a notch or 2. The streets where I live, especially during the winter, or not very kind.

I'm on factory sized wheels and tyres. So no real clearance issues, once i wound up the suspension a bit.
@datbuild oh I see,do you still ride this suspensions? Aren't they too hard for longer journeys?

Why cut the damper ,how you know how much to cut ?

G'day mate
Hey Murphy. Hope you're well.
@@datbuild I am mate thanks. How are you and the family going
Well enough, all things considered. Thanks.
@@datbuild Mate I love your videos
Thanks Murphy. Appreciate it. I welcome all input, and feedback on improving the channel also!
Every video skips how to fasten to the top with the black rubber piece
Which piece? Do you mean securing the strut to the vehicle?
You wrecked it didn't you??
😅 Not completely. It's all back to as it was now.
