Hey Simon, I don't know if you'll read this comment, but I just want to say that you represent the gold standard in investigative journalism. Where is ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX or CNN while these events are unfolding in the Ukraine? That's the fundamental difference, funding is a total different ball game.
Most honest reporting? Where did vice even gave a counterpoint, I really used to like them but now i see they are as biased as any other media there, they are focusing on the negative parts of the side they disagree, they didn't even consider that the other side might have a right to have that land they live on and to chose to join it to other country, why isn't vice reporting on what things Yulia timoshenko said about the Russians("Nuke Then[Russians in Ukraine]"), why didn't vice report on the rampant Ukrainian nationalism and the laws that ignore the wast Russian population in Ukraine and especially in Crimea, Ukraine has not allowed Russian language to be thought in schools, they do not give a f***that kids have to learn this language while in the midst of beginning to learn Russian, can you imagine US banning black American slang? And only allowing for "Normal English" Ukraine dose not give a F*** that the war veterans only speak Russian in Crimea and have to learn a new language, and the wast majority of people as Besides why didn't they admit that Crimea is a Russian land, that was given away by a politician, why is it so hard to understand that thous people want there land to belong to there nation. ITS THERE RIGHT! If London or LA was given away to the french would the people there become french? NO ofcorce not, and if Russian have to leave the Crimea because it belonged to Ukrainians some long time ago THEN ALL AMERICANS SHOULD PACK THERE STUFF AND LEAVE AMERICA TO NATIVE AMERICANS! So either put up or STFU!
***** A bit west biased? The title of this series is: "Russian Roulette: The Invasion of Ukraine" They have made up there minds up that Russians are the bad guys who INVADE the innocent Ukraine before they went there! If there wore really reporting on events as the are they should have made the context clear first of all! Which is that Crimea is a Russian majority region and it is for a long time. Russians wore there as long as American settlers wore in America. Curiously no Americans today calls that an INVASION and demands that they leave, a bit hypocritical maybe? If you do not provide a proper context the rest is misrepresenting the events already and not honest reporting. And if they wore reporting fairly they would not show the bad side of only one group, why don't they show the blunders of the Ukrainian side but rather focus on the struggling people who just want the people of there region to be heard, and have a vote to decide there destiny if that is not democracy then i do not know what is. Its what the America war for independence was all about, "no taxation without representation", the Russian population is being taxed yet it is ignored by the Ukrainian government that is mostly Ukrainian not to mention nationalistic Ukrainian. And i realize its not black and white, i hate Putin for his anti-gay laws, i think its a step back to the middle ages for Russia.
@tigerclaw1000 Instead of Vice News thus channel should be called Biased News, it's totally anti russian and they use the cancel culture method to show one sided view of the conflict.
Knights2theEnd Quartars* And if it is the worst weapon for the job to store in doors, then they wouldn't use it as a weapon of choice, common sense. Also most of these men say they are Afghan-Soviet war veterans, if that is true an AK-74 would feel more natural than anything else to them.
1:34 "Donbas is Russia. It always has been Russia." That is a seriously Orwellian statement. In fact, Donbas has been part of Ukraine for more than 20 years. This is simply more Russian soldiers occupying another Ukrainian city ahead of a hostile take-over.
They are NOT Russian soldiers. Is there any proof of this? Why has there not been a single Russian among the more than 70 separatists that were taken prisoner by the government? Why were there no Russians among all the other protesters who were taken prisoner, like the leader of the local protests in Odessa, who has been shipped off to prison in Kiew?
***** How is that proof? They put the flag there because they are pro-Russian and maybe ethnic Russians, but they still have a Ukrainian passport, making them Ukrainians. Unless you want to tell me that everyone who does not belong to the majority ethnic group is not a citizen of a country, which would mean that e.g hispanic US-Americans would not be US-Americans....
JackTheCarver Are you serious? They said they were former Russian military! I ask you: how many Afghan veterans are in their 20's and 30's and wear brand new Russian camo uniforms like the ones seen in Crimea?
No, I know that. It's just funny that all the other times he has been asked, the answer is Vice news. Very quick thinking. He knew what needed to be said to get past the barrier and he did so without lying.
I am citizen of Luhansk, my paretns have their roots in Luhanks region. We are Ukraine and these lands were always Ukrainian. In this video you can see the shame of my province. People by SBU were never bothered to learn history, they were grown as Soviet people and always sure that Moscow is their capital, even young people learnt on monther's knees. They want Russian language as official, cause they are lazy to write some official application sometimes in Ukrainian, but they even can't speak in Russian correctly. They are mostly drunk and rude.. Please, dont think that we want to Russia. Most of local people are afraid to go out and show they are Ukrainians, that is also a shame for me.
Token Black On her channel you can see that she was in Moscow 2 years after her comment in which she told that she hates Moscow and whole Russia. It's funny actually.
Yet another great video... Don't know what people consider "biased" about the reporting as it consistently shows different points of view and completely conflicting ones.
The situation is very dangerous. if Ukrainian government attack it will most likely lose the eastern provinces fast. if they don't they will lose them slowly and perhaps all the coastline from Russia to Moldavia. Whatever they chose in the end they will be dragged in a trap to attack. and that's better for Russia and gives them a reason to act.
8 years later and you have guessed 100% correct. The Ukraine Government did attack ! But 8 years later , it's reported as though the locals are invaders, attacking the "defenders" , from Kiev . It's totally loony, that people are falling for this obvious and ridiculous mischaracterization of the facts .
That’s exactly what happened. Hello, 9 years later, and Ukraine is trapped in a never ending conflict. And now, the people are exhausted. They’ve seen what Russia is doing.
Thank you so much for giving me good indepth news. I really have an informed view of the crisis in the Ukrain thanks to these brave men. It feels im informed about a crisis for the first time. Being an European these type of coverage are so essential. Thank you.

don't forget also that S1 E1 jumped right to the Russians 'invasion'. I wish it started with how Americans interfered in maidan. But it's good to see these old videos. He is certainly doing a risky job. I hope Ukrainians will get rid of the fascists soon
I grew up in Odesa and been to Donbas and Crimea countless times it’s pro Russian and if the wanna be independent of Ukraine let them .. zelensky is an idiot for trying to force them to stay
NEws are real but the title he out wrong! There is no "INVASION" like he says. I live in DOnetsk and I know what is going on. If this guy appears one more time< he will never come back again because what he does. THis is serious. This video is downloaded and his face will be recognized.. THey say in one voice that "there are russians troops, but he stiil out "invasion". HE will be judged for this.
@BouncyStickman This is not close to invasion ,invasion is more likely when the full force army is being deployed , if we being realistic that this is INVASION , the Russian army should get into Kiev in this span of 8 years or maybe all of Ukraine will be invaded in no time
"A Russian warplane made several close-range passes by an American warship in the Black Sea over the weekend, in what the Pentagon is calling a "provocative" move amid escalating tensions in the region. The jet, a Russian Su-24, made numerous low-altitude passes on Saturday over the USS Donald Cook, a guided-missile Navy destroyer in the western Black Sea, the Pentagon confirmed. According to officials, the jet made a total of 12 passes over the course of 90 minutes. It did not once respond to multiple contacts and warnings from the USS Donald Cook, despite the fact that the U.S. Navy ship was able to reach the cockpit directly." -CNN -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Seems like Russia is looking for a fight. Soon they may just end up biting off more than they can chew.
***** where there is one US Warship, there are many others nearby. There is in fact a Carrier Battlegroup in the Mediterranean right now. One US Naval Destroyer is worth 3 Russian Naval ships.
***** I am an American. Flying a jet like this in a provocative manner is dangerous. The US Navy could take out the Russian Navy easily. Sure we would lose some ships, but we have 10 aircraft carrier battlegroups and hundreds of ships and submarines and bases all over the world. How many Aircraft carriers does Russia have? Dont forget that an Attack on the US, any US ship, is an attack on NATO. China....lol. DOnt try and scare us with China.
***** Russia is a regional power, not a world power. US Military has every right to be in the black sea. The black sea is international waters. a country only controls the waters on the ocean out to about 12 miles off the coast. Oh, and BTW, the corvette would never come close enough to the Carrier. It would be sunk before it got into firing range.
***** To remember it means to have mind. And its not about maydan-supporters. They only have emotions and screams. But no way arguments, facts and simple logic...
***** Really! Chechnya, Osetia and Abkhazia are absolutely the same as Yugoslvia, Iraq and Libya! The former parts of Soviet Union and the current part of Russian Federation are absolutely the same as the independent countries with their own governments, constitutions and etc. It is the best example of the leakness of simple logic. And by the way - havent you heard about ethnic conflicts in Abkhazia and Osetia? And what at all you know about Chechnya to compare the counter-terroristic operation in it with destruction of a sovereign state of Iraq?
***** You had no choice? FUCK YOU. Fucking killer nation. You provided guns for Syria, Libya and maybe even Yugoslavia, Iraq.. You are the reason no russian will be able to live a normal life in western civilisation, we won't let that. Then you'll have to sit in your fucking useless country and maybe only then you'll understand what a good thing is peace.

this is why the people in the USA NEED to support the 2nd amendment, this is why we have it, its not for hunting or recreation its to protect our country from anyone including our own Gov if they become to strong and try to take over. i would expect they would ask the UN to send troops here before they send the coast guard, they would claim martial law and say the troops are (peaceful, just like the Russian troops in Ukraine) we NEED our guns, it is the ONLY thing that guarantees all other rights. never give up any right, no matter what the Gov or whomever claims, the Gov will claim they can protect you at only the cost of liberty, liberty is only guaranteed with guns, The Gov can NEVER fully protect you no matter what. only you are with you at all times.
SoulAssassin militia is not a single person, it is a group of people mostly not trained in military tactics, but most of us hunt game, which is the next best thing especially when defending you land, in fact the militia that one the revolutionary war were just hunters and farmers, they took down an army that was trained to kill people and had better weapons and tactics and cannons even cavalry using only guerrilla warfare, the militia actually out numbered the American military. it doesnt take much to take on troops in you own land, the USA learned that the hard way in Vietnam and Russia learned that when they invaded Afghanistan, and their militias barely knew how to use their weapons. even to this day guerrilla warfare is the best tactic to defend your homeland, you can train someone how to use a rifle and they can be effective with it, thats why whenever you watch videos of soldiers in iraq or afganastan fighting while using cameras on them, they never really see the enemy no matter how hard they get hit, you just ambush hard and flee, the enemy has no time to counter attack and all your guys make it out alive. there is no way in 1000 years any army will take over the USA with troops and no nuclear weapons, ever, and im proud my forefathers were smart enough to right that so clearly in my constitution.
***** well the other amendments in the bill of rights are useless without the 2nd, that is the only thing that protects and insures we have the rest, not to mention some of the other rights are being violated in some way, the 1st, 4th, 5th, and 6th are being violated mostly by federal law all the time, people dont know it either. the 4th is being violated mostly in Arizona and states with immigration check points. the 2nd amendment keeps the government from becoming a complete tyrant and walking in your house taking your property for redistribution or whatever they want. people forget we have been in an illegal war for 12 years, they dont even care.
zzyzx0788 it is illegal for the gov to fly armed drones over the states and for them to kill any american without trial unless they are a direct threat, but tell that to the people at Waco or Ruby ridge who where murdered by the government, they didnt have a chance and the government covered it up, or at least tried to, and you seen those farmers in Nevada? the Gov agents were about to walk over them until the people showed up armed, in fact they out armed the agents which ended in the Gov leaving... so you were saying??
KennyKyle Because there is no armed conflict with another country, no invading army, which shoots or kills anyone. It's much more like civil war. So, it's not true. BTW, you stated "It's true" so bluntly (with no arguments or evidence ^^), it's almost like you are CNN reporter...
KennyKyle There's no invasion going on. When Crimea seceded and then joined Russia, the title sort of made sense, but now it's more like "The Ukranian Civil War", although luckily we aren't quite at that stage yet.
The majority of the people of eastern Ukraine support these "demands".What is democracy ?Isn't it people fighting for their voices to be heard and the right of self determination which means the votes of the majority of people are what determines their fate.Isn't that what they are fighting for here?Do i really have to break down all the details for you to understand?
Are you for real? TheRisenPeopleEire I've had this conversation many times with Putin apologists. First, I am not for most of the policies of the US and many Western nations, BUT just because I do not agree with the US or the West, I am not going to throw my support to what is perceived as the counter balance of China or Russia. Both are totalitarian states and Russia being a counterintelligence state run by an ultra-nationalist fascist named Putin. The enemy of your enemy may still be your enemy.
TheRisenPeopleEire There is no such thing as unbiased news. It's just to the degree, i.e. RT and Fox News being the extremes of bias. Propaganda is waged by all governments, religions, hell, even the Boy Scouts. Simon like all humans is definitely biased, but at least he tries to show multiple sides of the story. And no matter what, my oriingal post had to do with Simon's balls, not his journalistic integrity.
Simon, I hope you read this. You really need to know that your reporting there is unparalleled mostly because of your crews ability to be in crucial places at crucial times. You are excellent at asking excellent questions and you are brave. And the style is groundbreaking because you are almost, so close to being impartial. I know it is difficult to see the Russians in a good light since they are the aggressors, and you clearly have strong ties to the west. But if you try and reduce that as much as you can by showing the Russians in a slightly better light it would improve your credibility by exponential degrees. I'm not saying to change the bias, just to inject a bit of the pro-Russian Ukrainian story because it is impossible that all pro-Russian Ukrainians are hostile. Know'm saying?
"If I wake up in Russia one day I'm emigrating back to Ukraine" Ha! My grandpa would have loved this guy. He was Moldovan and refused to live there under russian occupation.
For retired military, they sure have some pretty modern uniforms and equipment. Oh wait, those are just the Russian Military that have been waiting on the border for over a month now. Putin is one sneaky guy.
And you're one uninformed guy. Those uniforms are not anything rare, the people at the Maidan were also in military uniforms, you can get those pretty much anywhere, especially German Tarnfleck. And the equipment comes from police stations and army depots that were taken over as well as from police and army units that defected to the protesters. This was in the news. Apart from that: 1) It would be unbelievably retarded for Russia to equip these guys with Russian equipment. If they sent them there, it would be much smarter to have them equiped with other gear. I'm reasonably certain the FSB could do that... 2) More importantly, over 70 of the armed separatists were taken prisoner a few days ago when one of those buildings was taken back. There was not a single Russian among them.
10:11 or maybe he got KO'd because he said he wasn't pro-Ukraine? I mean really, since he didn't say either way and those guys didn't say what side they were on either.
***** Are you saying it wasn't Russian agents shooting the demonstrators in Kiev or do you believe it was fellow Ukraine demonstrators shooting themselves?
Cory Beatbox Neither, I would not be able to say it any better than this guy: scgnews.com/the-ukraine-crisis-what-youre-not-being-told The snipers that opened fire could have been of any race, skin color, religion, but it is a fact that they were mercenaries paid off by the West to incite a coup. Had that not occurred, Crimea very well might have remained part of Ukraine.
Забавно это смотреть, спустя много лет. Когда Крым развивается , ДНР и ЛНР стоят , а на Украине теперь президент -комик , но мало кто смеётся и Украина пробивает дно за дном.
Yet another really intimate video of what's going on in Ukraine. Not sure what people find so biased as Ostrovaky manages to present a lot of different views and even quite conflicting ones. I guess people aren't seeing the point of view presented that they would prefer...
Totally agree with you, I like when he talked to the masses as you actually get to see what people there think. He behaves himself in a professional manner and makes very logical deductions.
The people on this site are ignorant bitches who feel that no one outside America and its allies can ever do anything wrong. China is always right, Russia is always right, North Korea is always right, etc.
It should be clear to everyone at this point that Russians want Eastern Ukraine too, and if West or Ukrainians show anymore weakness (like they have done so far) Russians are going to take Western Ukraine.
Great reporting! Be careful. Request to Vice News to send a reporter to the Bundy ranch in Bunkerville,NV and report on the situation for the World. It's not over.
Because the Maiden actually had the power of the people behind them, these guys are poor people payed by the FSB to demonstrate, and even then most people of the Donbas want to be Ukrainian.
ImpGuardsman yes sure, according the "Fuck-the-EU"-Nulan the USA have paid 5 billion DOllars in the "democratic" movement. But can you remind on the "orange" revolution with Timoschenko? Nothing had changed. At Maidan were lot of nationalists and right extremists, which everybody could see. It is a scandal to back them and to restist the legal right for eastern urkaine.
Here's what I find Hypocritical beyond comprehension: So Russia supports Regions in another sovereign country to have referendums to leave the country without support from their government. However, when the same thing happens in Russia, not only is it not allowed, but they will send in the military & destroy everything in the Region trying to secede. I.E. Chechnya, Dagestan, etc. How is that fair?
the west is quite similar, and there are comparisons to the west being able to "rightfully" interfere in conflicts like in Kosovo and make them succeed from another nation, but if Russia uses the same argument it becomes illegal also America has invaded many countries in the past and no-one sanctions them for it, or condemns them, but if anyone else does it they get sanctioned and condemned because its against UN charter
@@kobikraft24 Yeah, but America has not invaded other countries and then snatch up territory to expand its borders. America has not bombed its own civilians and killed hundreds of thousands of its own citizens, because a State wanted to declare independence. Look, I don't like what America does in many foreign countries with their military either. However, it is Ludacris to compare what America does vs what Russia is doing in Ukraine right now.
Yeah, believe it or not, a lot of people were better off under the USSR than they are now, at least in countries like Ukraine where people are very poor now.
"We just want to become a federal that's PART OF THIS COUNTRY" - well probably they should stop flying the Russian flags since it sends all the wrong messages. A federal system is probably better for Ukraine though.
I don't particulary agree with everithing the reporter do ( he has a certain bias IMO ) but one have to admit he's courageous enough... With so much ill passion on the ground he could get in real trouble with some of these protesters ( or "separatist" depending on your interpetation ). It's a personal quality I respect.
Николай Тодоров It seemed to be fair minded. I felt it showed both sides well. It's a difficult situation. You have people that identify themselves as Russians, and people that don't. Russia doesn't want Ukraine to break out in a civil war, that goes on for years to come. They have an economic and military interest in the country. To me it seems you will need strong local government that will meet the needs of its specific region. You can see why ethnic Russians are concerned with being discriminated. So far there hasn't been a blood bath. I think this situation requires strong diplomacy. There has to be a "win, win" some where in all of this.
Yes it is a tough one. Still, I do hope there won't be a bloodshed, I mean a real one. A civil war, instigated or not, is a terrible thing as history showed in Yugoslavia, Syria and Iraq.
He has no right to twist and write " invasion" . THey will kill him for this if he appears. This is politics more than war. ANd guys like him just try to play dangerous game with politics which is good for the west.
just think something.... when albanians in Kosovo held a referendum inside an area of the legal government of Serbia for independency (and the referendum was called illegal by the government), the EU and the US backed the albanians and helped them creat a new state by recognizing it in a region that was for centuries serbian. On the other hand here when the pro russians held a referendum which was called illegal by an illegal central government (because of the illegal overthrow of Yanukovich) all the west world was stenchly against it despite the fact that this area was russian for centuries.... how hypocritical can that be? and vice... please don't take that "impartial" and "objective" image off of you...
This reporter can’t seem to understand that people of that part of Ukraine really want to be out . They are determined. It is their choice, one should respect that.
Those opposing were deported and imprisoned by the Russians. There is no real referendum in the hell-hole Russia. In tatars of Crimea were forcibly removed from Crimea reducing their population and instead increasing the population of Russians
Those masks are supposed to protect them from being identified and prosecuted. People who protest often wear masks for that reason, especially if their protest is labelled as illegal.
roygrem so what happens now? Are they getting better treatment? Are they getting equality? Has Putin assured them of jobs and better pay now, a better standard of living compared to how they were living "inside" Ukraine??
in crimea the russian govt allredy dubbled the sallaries and pensions. ukraine is in a big mess financialy, russia has more to offer them. cheaper gas, oil etc
MrPainseeker why you see only money? Thay say in the video that don not want to join russia. They want in these region their rules. They want rules like autonomy so no one will say to them what and how to do. They don't like the government . They think that they are fascist (government). So yes they are separatists cause they want more power to decide what to do in their region. they do not understand how it can be that government acts like fascists in time their fathers died for these land and killed all thous fascist busterds.

@Axios .king any sane person is pro ukraine.
Anyone else feel that this series has been the best, most honest, reporting they've seen?
ukraine is fragmenting it seems however i don't really know unless i go there
besides the title and the reporter yeah it is. they make some good inside videos
And only allowing for "Normal English"
Ukraine dose not give a F*** that the war veterans only speak Russian in Crimea and have to learn a new language, and the wast majority of people as
Besides why didn't they admit that Crimea is a Russian land, that was given away by a politician, why is it so hard to understand that thous people want there land to belong to there nation.
The title of this series is: "Russian Roulette: The Invasion of Ukraine"
They have made up there minds up that Russians are the bad guys who INVADE the innocent Ukraine before they went there!

That is a shitload of guns they "found" inside the building.
Well I doubt they just walked over with a load of military grade AK-74's and took it, they probably did find them in there, it is a security building.
I Know Everything AK's in a tight courters security building? Sounds like the worst weapon for the job. It is very obvious where the weapons came from
Knights2theEnd Quartars*
And if it is the worst weapon for the job to store in doors, then they wouldn't use it as a weapon of choice, common sense. Also most of these men say they are Afghan-Soviet war veterans, if that is true an AK-74 would feel more natural than anything else to them.
Jon Snow You mean AK-47... Sorry, could not resist! ;)
Andy no one uses Ak-47 anymore. Only Ak-74
JackTheCarver There's proof, that guys from russia, put the russians flags on the top of the government building.
JackTheCarver
Are you serious? They said they were former Russian military! I ask you: how many Afghan veterans are in their 20's and 30's and wear brand new Russian camo uniforms like the ones seen in Crimea?
JackTheCarver Dude, they are from Russia, and they have a russian passports, all know that becouse it's verified information
"Moscow bureau"? That was quick thinking.
yeah hahaha : good answer
He probably wasn't lying though since he IS technically supposed to cover anything connected with Russia

Im local of Crimea and I don't want to Ukraine.
Simon (and crew), once again, great reporting. We know the risk you take and are deeply appreciative of the good work you do, thank you.
You guys can't make enough of these videos. Great job, I'm looking forward to the next one.
You show how clear it was then the manipulation Russia was doing over Ukraine and correctly predicted the future.

I'm sadly coming to the last few episodes of these, really enjoyed them! As I was sadly quite igronant to Ukraine,so this has filled me in. I like Simon as a journalist! Love how he speaks up for the little guys!😎
don't forget also that S1 E1 jumped right to the Russians 'invasion'. I wish it started with how Americans interfered in maidan. But it's good to see these old videos. He is certainly doing a risky job.
I hope Ukrainians will get rid of the fascists soon

Navy ship was able to reach the cockpit directly."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Seems like Russia is looking for a fight. Soon they may just end up biting off more than they can chew.
*****
where there is one US Warship, there are many others nearby. There is in fact a Carrier Battlegroup in the Mediterranean right now.
One US Naval Destroyer is worth 3 Russian Naval ships.
*****
I am an American.
***** cmon man you don't honestly believe that right ?
A russian corvette being able to take down an Aircraft carrier ?

Russia is a regional power, not a world power.
US Military has every right to be in the black sea. The black sea is international waters. a country only controls the waters on the ocean out to about 12 miles off the coast.
Oh, and BTW, the corvette would never come close enough to the Carrier. It would be sunk before it got into firing range.
Thank`s Simon! Russia is the last bloody Empire and all world start to understand- who is who and your group is doing good job! God bless!
***** To remember it means to have mind. And its not about maydan-supporters. They only have emotions and screams.
But no way arguments, facts and simple logic...
***** Remember Russia: Chechnya, Ossetia, Transnistria, enough?
***** Really! Chechnya, Osetia and Abkhazia are absolutely the same as Yugoslvia, Iraq and Libya!
The former parts of Soviet Union and the current part of Russian Federation are absolutely the same as the independent countries with their own governments, constitutions and etc.
It is the best example of the leakness of simple logic.
And by the way - havent you heard about ethnic conflicts in Abkhazia and Osetia? And what at all you know about Chechnya to compare the counter-terroristic operation in it with destruction of a sovereign state of Iraq?
Electronikus enough, i forgot about Georgia
***** You had no choice? FUCK YOU. Fucking killer nation. You provided guns for Syria, Libya and maybe even Yugoslavia, Iraq.. His look after he said "that's actually lard with mayonaisse on top" is hilarious! 4:44
Lard with mayo on top sounds disgusting :D
But I guess it is nourishing.
It's a different culture mate. They might think ketchup and greasy burgers and fries are gross. I certainly do.
Blingingz That...wasn't really my point. I like sala (the bacon-y stuff he described as lard, I'm not sure if that's the actual spelling), mayo on top is just a little weird is all.
Blingingz How dare you speak against delicious fries!

It is encouraging that a western journalist can speak Russian and can ask sensible questions.
He's Russian.
As an American and Pro Ukrainian supporter I can say that a lot of news media is not very good when reporting
this is why the people in the USA NEED to support the 2nd amendment, this is why we have it, its not for hunting or recreation its to protect our country from anyone including our own Gov if they become to strong and try to take over. i would expect they would ask the UN to send troops here before they send the coast guard, they would claim martial law and say the troops are (peaceful, just like the Russian troops in Ukraine) we NEED our guns, it is the ONLY thing that guarantees all other rights. never give up any right, no matter what the Gov or whomever claims, the Gov will claim they can protect you at only the cost of liberty, liberty is only guaranteed with guns, The Gov can NEVER fully protect you no matter what. only you are with you at all times.
The one mistake the republicans made in their long game, thankfully.
nuke GG all dead..
Maybe you should stop calling it "The Invasion of Ukraine"???
why, it's true
KennyKyle Because there is no armed conflict with another country, no invading army, which shoots or kills anyone. It's much more like civil war. So, it's not true.
BTW, you stated "It's true" so bluntly (with no arguments or evidence ^^), it's almost like you are CNN reporter...
***** Already invaded by EU and US? What do you mean by that?
KennyKyle There's no invasion going on. When Crimea seceded and then joined Russia, the title sort of made sense, but now it's more like "The Ukranian Civil War", although luckily we aren't quite at that stage yet.
MerlinCorwinoff There are Russian special forces there, so it's invaded by Russia. And also Crimea was invaded by Russian military.
Vice news had balls back in the days wish they did this now adays in ukrane tell both sides stories 🙄😒
"We have demands that need to be meant"
Yeah, sounds SO democratic to me.
2nd amendment ensures democracy
AggieBonfire14 Owning guns ensures that people can vote and that the votes won't be rigged?

TheRisenPeopleEire
I've had this conversation many times with Putin apologists.
He literally interviewed 3 moms on a sidewalk who wanted to join Russia...not sure where you get he claims they are all aggressive
Good luck to everyone out there. I hope that a lawful, peaceful solution can be achieved. I will pray for your people.

the moment of the war in Ukraine.
You stay safe and God bless you.
Apart from that:
1) It would be unbelievably retarded for Russia to equip these guys with Russian equipment. If they sent them there, it would be much smarter to have them equiped with other gear. I'm reasonably certain the FSB could do that...
2) More importantly, over 70 of the armed separatists were taken prisoner a few days ago when one of those buildings was taken back. There was not a single Russian among them.

Because the Maiden actually had the power of the people behind them, these guys are poor people payed by the FSB to demonstrate, and even then most people of the Donbas want to be Ukrainian.

How is that fair?
the west is quite similar, and there are comparisons to the west being able to "rightfully" interfere in conflicts like in Kosovo and make them succeed from another nation, but if Russia uses the same argument it becomes illegal
also America has invaded many countries in the past and no-one sanctions them for it, or condemns them, but if anyone else does it they get sanctioned and condemned because its against UN charter

@@kobikraft24 Yeah, but America has not invaded other countries and then snatch up territory to expand its borders. America has not bombed its own civilians and killed hundreds of thousands of its own citizens, because a State wanted to declare independence.

JackTheCarver yup waiting in the breadlines for hours and being terrified to speak out for fear of being sent to a labor camp was so much better sigh
"We just want to become a federal that's PART OF THIS COUNTRY" - well probably they should stop flying the Russian flags since it sends all the wrong messages. A federal system is probably better for Ukraine though.
LOL That Daniil guy at the end looks like B-Real from cypress hill .
lol, "Moscow"
"ok, then..."
3.19 author was mistaken. It wasn't Alexey Karaykin. It was Valeri Bolotov. Low quality
Did not know that Simon smokes 5:55
Being a Reporter in a Warzone is a stressful job, i can see why he needs something to take the edge off.
Вы че думали Донецк тихо промолчит про беспридел в Киеве? Это ответ Киеву от Донецка за беспридел
Duh, so much spelling errors...Excuse me.
Николай Тодоров
It seemed to be fair minded.
Yeaaaaaa..
And now he's in trouble:
time.com/73522/time-vice-journalists-detained-ukraine/
just think something.... when albanians in Kosovo held a referendum inside an area of the legal government of Serbia for independency (and the referendum was called illegal by the government), the EU and the US backed the albanians and helped them creat a new state by recognizing it in a region that was for centuries serbian.
Московское бюро.... ахахахахаха:)
Where is BORAT!?
This reporter can’t seem to understand that people of that part of Ukraine really want to be out . They are determined. It is their choice, one should respect that.
Those opposing were deported and imprisoned by the Russians. There is no real referendum in the hell-hole Russia.
In tatars of Crimea were forcibly removed from Crimea reducing their population and instead increasing the population of Russians
@@halubalu9546 are you on crack my friend?!
I hope Ostrovsky receives an award for this ongoing report.
Most people in the East are Russian Speaking Ethnic Ukrainians. Its Only Crimea that has Majority Ethnic Russians.
HAHAHA! What are those guy with AK and a black mask talking to camera like Al-quida? lol u serious?
Those masks are supposed to protect them from being identified and prosecuted. People who protest often wear masks for that reason, especially if their protest is labelled as illegal.
If they want to be part of russia why don't they move to russia
Ha! Tell that to Quebec! Why don't they just move to France?
Are you stupid?
No I'm saying how dumb his point is by giving an example of a similar situation in my own country. Tony Zee's stupid though!
How do you imagine that 70% of citizens of Crimea move to Russia?
Great reporting VICE though a bit risky
Anastasia, you liar
Fantastic documentary by the way!
Simon is doing a great job with these videos, but now he is in the belly of the beast. Hope he can avoid the FSB and make it out alive.
Why Simon, your " French " is excellent. 🤣
What do they think will happen if they join Russia? What do they think waits for them on the other side?
already have
roygrem so what happens now? Are they getting better treatment? Are they getting equality? Has Putin assured them of jobs and better pay now, a better standard of living compared to how they were living "inside" Ukraine??
I have no idea.
in crimea the russian govt allredy dubbled the sallaries and pensions. ukraine is in a big mess financialy, russia has more to offer them. cheaper gas, oil etc
Не зря фингал поставили, жму руку тем пацанам!
HIMARS will get rid of those drunken thugs.
