- A stranded cable car on the way to the top of Schilthorn in the Swiss Alps is evacuated by helicopter. No deaths or injuries. Good, clean fun. Well, except for that business about 3 minutes in.
"please send picture to me!" "Bye!" lol Bravo to the rescue team and operators. they did an amazing job keeping the people calm!
Considering that this is a terrifying situation to be held up in a box over 2200m above sea level, everyone seems to be in good spirits. Kudos to the rescue team!
Really great, excellent cable car rescue operation, congratulations to all rescue workers 🙏
Hats off to the Swiss and their superb training and organisation. Defining moment @ 4:39, humour in the face of adversity.
I was at the base with my dad when this happened. We saw it all happen from the ground. We would have been on that exact one if I hadn’t stopped to get a snack first! Really cool to see what happened inside, even though I’m only seeing this 6 years after.
I've been on that cable and planning to go again in January. Some people would pay good money for that helicopter ride. But some other people would be terrified. Good to see how smooth the evacuation was.
Oh hell no. I would need about four Xanax to manage this. Heights are not my friend and dangling on a helicopter cable is terrifying. I cannot believe nobody freaked out completely by the prospect of this. I was mortified riding a hot air balloon once. It is a long way down.
at 5:52 theres an unconscious person. i wonder if it was the fear that made them pass out or if they did have to be sedated
Wow, what a fun experience and all for FREE!
We rode this in October 2014. Glad I did not see this video beforehand
One of the more cooler things I've seen lately.
Was on Peak-to-Peak at Whistler today, wondering how they'd evacuate us if we got stuck. Now I Know. Thanks for the video!
The ride of a lifetime right there!
We were also stuck on the mountain that day but decided to walk down from Birg. We saw the evacuation from the ground it looked scary. The walk was also scary being almost a vertical drop in places. An adventure all the same.
Susan Thompson338 the walk from Birg Is not that steep, but yes it is an adventure hiking down! :)
OMG. Thank God I didn't go through this when I went to Schiltorn.
That looked like SO MUCH FUN!!
Good job Rescue Team
Fantastic effort of the team. Feel safer now, seeing their dedication to rescue.
Brilliant camera work. Excellent watch. 👍
Kudos to the well trained Swiss crews who rescued these people. Consider yourself lucky. There was a cable car 🚡 in another country where the outcome was not good. The car separated from the machinery and plummeted to the ground.
You don't get stuck in a cable car and need to be helicoptered out of there on a piece of string and "consider yourself lucky" just because it was worse elsewhere. If you have toothache, do you "consider yourself lucky" because someone somewhere is worse off?
It looks like great fun
Can't believe this only has 77k views so far. Holy moly that looks scary af to endure.
I ones was evacuated from a chairlift. That was nothing over 10 meters. This is far more spectacular!!
The helicopter just drops you at the front door to the lawyers office…
lucky people had the ride of their life! wish I was there
If there’s any place you want this to happen, it’s Switzerland…
Oofff that looks scary. Although rather there than a rescue from the Stechelberg. That’s one daunting cable car when it’s working ok 😳
Respect😄
Shoutout to those rescue personnel and the pilots.
I would think they would charge extra for an adventure like that.
Props for shooting in landscape mode, a rare find.
It’s like hitting 2 birds in one shot you pay for cable car plus a extreme ride...
Prifessionall team rescue,best..👍
Oh my word. Me next.
Helo rescue is not a walk in the park. It's down right dangerous for everyone involved.
Please, can I pay for an experience like that? lol
I once got stuck like this on the Vitosha Mountain chairlift -- it happened during the descent somewhere between Goly Verkh (Treeline) and Bay Kristo, the lift just stopped in midair (I was over a deep valley at the time, maybe a few hundred feet AGL) and it was maybe the better part of an hour before it started moving again! TBH, it wasn't very scary, just boring to sit there and wait!
Been there, done that :D But it was less than an hour.
@@mgenovski Also on Mount Vitosha?
@@agentorange153 Yes, I live in Sofia :)
@@mgenovski I've been there once -- beautiful city, but too many bugs in summer, just like here in California (but not as hot as here) ;-) I hope you don't see the giant peacock moth (Saturnia pyri) where you live, do you?
@@agentorange153 I don't think I have ever seen this thing. :D It looks disgusting :D
Watch that first step! Brilliant clip, and thanks for sharing it.
I'm in there!!!!
I would be on the floor curled in a ball...
I would be cool as a cucumber and telling everyone to stay calm and don't freak out -- at least at first (but probably after an hour or so, I'd be more like "Oh come on, when will they get that clunker fixed at last?")
3:09 hopefully no hikers down there
Everything breaks down !
Awesome!! 👍🏼😊
Great video ;-)
nice job Sami!
I would have had a heart attack!!!
👍
NICE
Wild!
😊 happy end
*Bộ phim hay*
They should have charged you extra for the experience , not giving refunds LoL
I would be so scared to ever go on one of those things people just think it’s like not even scary it’s just normal I’d be so scared
I’d be shitting myself
Not free by any means
How do people like it scared on these types of things I am so scared of heights I couldn’t work on a crane I couldn’t go on one of those things I couldn’t do any of that nope
Poor suckers! Haahahahahahahahahaa...curses! Curses!
WHY IS A MAN GOING FIRST??? WHY ARE THE CHILDREN ALL NOT REMOVED FIRST??? WTF??? Any man that got off the Titanic make me sick.
Children are afraid to go without ab adult they trust. Prolly that's why
@@estarat ‘PROBABLY,’ not ‘PROLLY.’ There’s no such word! 🤦♂️
equality?
you'd have thought the dumb passengers may have been a tad concerned instead of laughing joking and messing about as if they're on the ground...pity the cables didn't start unravelling.....that would have concentrated their minds.
Felix s Your comment is unduly harsh, and unfair to everyone on that car. Even had we thought our situation was likely fatal, we would still have been calm and considerate of each other. I'm not sure what you expected. Screams, perhaps, or weeping. Sorry to disappoint you.
@@vtfollett - sorry 'bout that - I was on Heroin.
Looks like a bit more adventure than they bargained for 🫣
