I’m from Indonesia, mine is 2004 version. 166k kms, it was my father’s from new, now he pass it on to me. here are my review:
- the shifter actually ergonomic but you have to use the driver armrest, put your arm on the armrest and you you can reach your shifter easily.
- mine has a VSA (Vehicle Stability Assist) and AFS (Adaptive FrontLight System), the headlight will move according the direction of the steering wheel and has an automatic folding backseat but doesn’t come with built in Monitor and GPS.
after almost 15 years, major service were
- the automatic transmission, have it repaired around 140k kms
- Accelerator Pedal Position APP Sensor, just have to replace the sensor under the accelerator pedal on 130k kms.
- radiator, have it changed on 120k kms
- suspension, have it replaced on 120k kms
overall, the car is very reliable both engine and electrical, futuristic design, even compared with current car model, fast (200ps Absolute 5speed ver., don’t take the 160ps CVT ver.), sporty and agile driving experience, feels just like driving a sedan.

I got a JDM replacement engine for a Acura TSX / Accord Euro I was working on. After seeing that top engine cover, now i know what it came out of. It's the same engine but a lot to switch over to make it work correctly.
That's one great car. That's why I love this channel. You get to know these cars you never heared about. Down side, yet another car I would love to have 😅

i have a 2003n.american and it has column shifter and doesnt have tgha center screen...
The engine is k24a2, a potential beast. The design is pretty unique too. I think this is the best Honda odyssey. The new one is a pure family car, kind of a boring car.
2nd gen is better imho, and j30a is much much suitable for such cars than k24a2. Difference in fuel cust is very low (11-12L of 96 vs 14-16L of 91) per 100km. Its like $4-5 difference per 100km. But j30 gives far better driving experience (270 n/m vs 230 if I'm not mistaken)

The front end looks like my 2012 honda civic. japan always gets the newer designs language first, Like YEARS before.

hey @PacificCoastAuto i think I may have the answer for you regarding the third row. The rear third row area has mismatching side compartments due to the side that people would normally get in through. Being on the right people tend to lay their hands down on the hump where the side compartments are, due to this there was a risk of the sliding door design to break. IM not sure if honda had the sliding doors on both sides originally but im thinking they did and through testing entry and exits they found it to be one less thing to break/have to repair.
also maybe the subwoofer created unwanted vibration

This is such a beautifull car! Very well made, very futuristic design and super reliable.
It is one of my most favourite cars. Such a shame that at that time they didn't sell it on the European market.
I wonder what the price is for this car and how much it costs in total to bring this car to Europe and to put it on the road here.

The Altezza Gita is much smaller so they aren't super comparable. I would say the Altezza gets better highway and the Odyssey gets better city mileage.

So sad that they cut j30 v6 gfr this generation. I drive 2nd generation ra-8. This k24 is not fuel efficient. The compressoin ratio does not allow you to fuel 91 petrol, only 96
If you want it drive dynamic enough, you will round this engine till 3,5-4k, and it will eat 11-12 of 96 petrol per 100km. J30 gives you much much better driving experience and you usually keep it below 3k even when want to be faster than others on the road. It eats 14-15, maybe 16L of 91 petrol per 100km. The difference is $4 per 100km, $2 a day. But its totally another car with much better driving experience. They killed Odysseys on this generetion with stupid cvt (if not absolute) and 4 stroke overcharged engine. Very sad (

Yes these are awesome, i cant wait to see one in person, the only issue i have with these and alot of other 2002 and newer cars from japan is that the navi, climate control etc is all integrated, which is cool in japan but once its imported to Canada, you cant do much with it, cant remove it, and cant really use it. so you loose the ability to have a nice stereo, or etc.
fraservalleyimports I imported a late 2002 accord CM2 wagon with the integrated navi. I removed the dvdRom from its slot behind the door under the navi, and put an aftermarket head unit in its location. Unfortunately, I still needed to have the dvd hooked up in order for the backup camera to work through the original navi screen. Took some work to squirrel it away behind the dash, but end result was a decent aftermarket stereo hidden behind a stock access door, full use of the original display for climate and camera, just no gps.
There's no way thats a 2003 lol I'd say a 2010-2012 maybe if it is than I think Hondas future is going to be very bright

I brought a Honda Odyssey absolute m type 2004 silver metallic
8 years ago i almost get this RB1 Odyssey Absolute , same deep purple colour, lovely stock wheels, red dashboard , 200 horsepower (attractive for a minivan). but finally decided to get a Toyota Wish Z, quite good. I think 3rd & 4th gen (RB) Odyssey are the most sporty look. 2013 fifth gen body height is tall plus the sliding doors.
