I was at their farewell Toronto concert in February 2018 and had a spot on the floor about 15’ away from Ian. Absolutely mind-blowing. Saga is grossly underrated as is Ian. I’ll never forget that show.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Great interview! Ian Crichton one of my favorite guitar players. So unique and innovative. I love the classical "galloping" style with or without the keyboard accompaniment. Being self taught proves why he is such a "grass roots" uniquely styled guitar player. Bravo Ian!!
The man is ridiculously talented! Canadian guitarists are so under rated but can really play! Kim Mitchell, Rik Emmett, Ian Chrichton, Alex Lifeson, Jack Semple, David Gogo, Tony D, Michel Cusson, the list is longer than this!
Always one of my favourite guitarplayers ever. So distinguishable amongst so many others. Always inspiring, always original. Way to go ,Ian! And thanks for all the wonderful music! 😘
I met the crichton brothers, michael sadler and the keyboard player of saga at a meet and greet in 2006 at rock of ages festival, a few hours later saga gave a fantastic show as the headliners of the second day of the fest. i saw saga live once more at sweden rock festival at 2014, saga is a great band in the studio and even better as a live band, ian crichton is a great guitar player, it's beyond my understanding why ian crichton doesn't appear on the lists of the best guitar players of all times.
World's apart and heads or tales are ABSOLUTE MASTERPIECES by Saga. Ian's playing and tone are matchless on these albums. I like music from Pure Prairie League to Megadeth and Saga is special.
I first saw this band live at a local bar in St.Catharines many many years ago.I didn't know who they were i just ended up at this bar often lol.The sound just blew me away, they sounded so like a professional band instead of always up and coming bands even though these guys would have still be up n coming at that time. That sound stuck with me for a long time,i had to find out who they were and loved them ever since.
They are a fantastic band! Perfect blend of progressive meets Rock and Pop... really enjoy their catchy melodies and songs.., always killer atmospheric parts too. Simply Unique !
Saw Saga last Friday in Montreal, I confirm he was using the BluGuitar Amp1. I noticed he was switching from rhythm to lead without touching any pedal. Finding now he's not using any effect, maybe some from FOH only. Sounded great, tight and very melodic.
Hey Peanut it’s Lorie Willies high school love. How are you doing still listen to your amazing guitar. Remember the nights with you John and Bill in the Wilson’s basement ❤
@@BluGuitar I am pondering getting this unit, as I love a full up Plexi, not sure if this measures up. However the portability is undeniable. I got to where any modern hi preamp gain amp doesnt work for me... Is this capable of mimic ing the output tube distortion?
I saw Saga as an opening act for Toto...Lukather asked for an applause for Ian, both of them play for the song...and been with their band since day one.
One of the most underrated guitarists just sublime
I AM GOING TO SAY IT RIGHT HERE. Majority of the BEST Rock bands ever , came from our brothers and sister in Canada !
I met Ian in 1988, I was in a band called Kashmir, we opened for Saga, great guitarrist, great person.
Lucky he's my guitar hero!
Hey! I went to that concert in el poliedro de Caracas, kashmir rock a that day too!

First time I've heard Ian speak! He's awesome! Thanks for posting!
Incredible tone and timing. Definitely one of the top underrated guitar players.
yep...completely under-rated...(they picked a great solo for this video in, "Tired World" live...)...
Ian has the MONSTER TONE. Such a great player. Just got done watching the SAGA in Munich 30th Anniversary show. Holy shit that guy can play!
Yes!!! One of my heroes too!

Ian Chrichton and Steve Rothery: my two favorite guitarist that are virtually unknown.

Amazing guitarist 🤩
I’m his fan too!!! Greetings 🖖 Thomas
"12 provinces". Now that's surprising boo boo for a Canadian. Good thing I love the band!
US Maryland Fan - Ian is AWESOME ! Love his style. Stanley Jordan and Steve Howe are my other favs.
He plays an Ernie ball silhouette, these guitars are so underrated, best neck I have ever tried
It started to hit me how we are seeing the inventor of the amplifier telling us his details- that is very cool- SAGA !!!!!!
World's apart and heads or tales are ABSOLUTE MASTERPIECES by Saga. Ian's playing and tone are matchless on these albums. I like music from Pure Prairie League to Megadeth and Saga is special.
I totally agree!!!! Ian’s works are exceptional and outstanding still to this day. I’m a fan! Greetings, Thomas
Thomas is a great gentleman.
Ian Crichton, Tyrion Lannister's unknown brother!!

this rox!
Ian is a killer player !!!
He shreds it like no other!! Mark Hamill' (Star Wars) Bro?
If the great IC can use this, it means it’s a great amp 👍

IAN!!!
Legend!!!

Ian Chrichton plays in my opinion on the same level like Steve Lukather fromToto. Why couldnt this guys start a project and play together?
Good question... maybe they are busy with their bands... but I could imagine what these 2 guys could do, too....;-)
I saw Saga as an opening act for Toto...Lukather asked for an applause for Ian, both of them play for the song...and been with their band since day one.
@@juanocasio3758 On which opening concert did you see both guys?
Great vibrato.
Ian is a monster player!
