That pause after mentioning the single break disk...
Man I can feel it
A 3.1 gallon tank too.... Like wtf 😑.
But I have to say I love the powerful engine idea on a sportster
So even heavier bikes in the Harley lineup have single disk brakes. This is the lightest thing they have and it's a brembo monoblock. How bad could it be?
@@maximus9401 buell sport bikes had single brakes they did fine
@@jeepstertj556 the rotor was much larger due to the exterior rim mounting points and there were 6 piston calipers. Kinda an apples and oranges comparison, but, yes, the Buell brakes worked perfectly.
I've been a hater for several years, but this bike is the first which is offering something which I'm potentially interested in. The power figures from the engine are serious, and HD looks to have upped its game.
The price isn't outrageous either. I'm not going to trade in my bike anytime soon, but I can respect the direction HD is going in.
I might even have to change my prejudice against HD!
I’m with ya, and I’m a Harley owner!
Would be cool to see a iron sportser s 883 or even an upgrade on their street line. Especially since they didn’t make emission requirements as per the video
Same, but after going 10mm bigger on my front tire, I have realized I could never ride a “fat bike” too sluggish. But this bike with normal tires would be a good ride.
same here, this is more of a retro style bike, which im more into. never been a fan of the typical harley, but this one would make me wanna try it
@@Soshi12005 I think the Street line is on the way out, in favor of some smaller displacement RevMax Sportsters down the line
HD: “We need to broaden our market reach to younger riders”
Also HD: “Let’s price it at $15,000 starting”
HD executives are either retarded or too arrogant to admit the fact - Majority of the young folks will not be able to afford to pay 17000 for their first bike~~~~~
All those mandatory extra goodies aren't Free.
@@Sean-yk2cf here in India we spent that much on car purchase. For starter bike it's ridiculously expensive.
My thoughts exactly.
I went
Wow this looks amazing, I'd be down to buy one!
Checks price
So how about that speed twin?
Younger riders. Not poorer riders. Harley is still a premium brand.
It's like you're laughing all the way through. Different style, but diggin it.
I think I've done too many straight down the line specs voiceovers... 😅
@@motobob Nothing wrong with that... got you to 160k subs... Now you've gone full time, only natural that you relax into it and become the motorcycle journalist you were clearly destined to become. Big up yourself! ahem.
@@motobob Actually as a subscriber and fan that watches all your videos I heard the slight hesitation when you mentioned the single disc on a 220 Kg bike. And a small giggle in places that I would have laughed out loud.
2 into 1 exhaust, side mount for the license plate...mid controls ..this bike gonna be 🔥
A Bronx with the full fat 150 BHP would be very tasty.
yes but it's 975cc with a 116 PS of power, however, we don't know if it's coming !
@@chirag4 There were rumours of a 1250 Bronx as well. But whether we will get to see them is anyone's guess.
I think harley are onto a winner. Finally catching up with everyone else.
20 years later 🤣
At last! But the price...in Australia it's nearly 27K. Considering a Ducati XDiavel is around 31K I fear they have priced themselves out of the market again...
V-rodd/night rodd was pretty epic. I cant stand slow and vib2rarong cruisers but when I tried a v-rodd in 2013 I had a smile from ear to ear and that was on a technical b-road where the org Triumph Bobber felt like a crap bike.
@@huntychunks 27!!! are y’all using monopoly money down there
@@mauricedavis2905 Better late than never. Also gets the competition to worry about yet another worthy rival.
remember when HD killed off Buell... pepperidge farm remembers.
I understood that reference
Tegridy Farms remembers as well.
Buell wanted to use a non HD engine. I can't blame them for letting him go.
@@TattooedHoodlum translation: a better engine 🙂 HD went in hard with enforcing the non-compete, and we lost one of the most innovative brands in the industry... Haven't gone back to a HD product since. I also love how HD fanboys rip on companies like Indian for copying...... Then rip the digital dash right from Indian 😂
I guess younger riders nowadays are all rich given the price of this one.
Wonder how Harley define ‘younger’?
@@Dreddingbath not drawing a pension.
It can be done. I feed a family of 6 on one income (not six figures), and we have a mortgage. Two trucks and a Road King all paid off. You just have to budget, and stay out of debt. Debt interest will eat up your paychecks.
@@usmcvet0313 that wouldn't be a problem but then you realize a lot of today's youth are paying off student debt that costs more than a lot of mortgages.
@@adamnagel7436 don't take out school loans, unless it's for a specific career that will allow you to pay off that debt quickly. School debt is still debt, stay away from it except for very specific circumstances.
Edit: Also for the sake of transparency, we did everything I said in my previous comment, while paying off my wife's school debt.
My new favorite reviewer and motorcycle news channel because you're direct and to the point.
Why not just use 10% shorter final gear ratio for extra torque and keep the 150hp? I think it's just nerfed to be able to sell even more expensive bikes with full power motors in near future.
Honda detuned their Africa twin 1100 engine when it went into the Rebel 1100. I find it hard to believe that off road adventure bikes are high RPM screamers. They always say "We changed the engine to move the power band down low." Just leave the engine in its higher output configuration

Good to see you here!
@@TheOverisel i dont see Sportser S beeing an adventure bike. And what comes to Harleys owners, their main hobby is to tune up them.
@@madsbuhris Im not saying the Sportster S is an Adventure bike. But the Sportser S engine is DIRECTLY from the Pan America Adventure Bike. This 1250 engine in the Pan America makes 150 plus horsepower. Harley detuned it by 20 HP for placement in the Sporster S. Im saying leave the engine in all of its 150 hp glory. No detuning.
I can see this vid was made with a good mood, gladly to say it was ton of fun.
Like the new style and keep the creativity man, greatly done!
I grew up around big v-twins... my dad rode one for a long time...and I have ridden his.
This bike, looks like a Harley that I would possibly buy and ride. Nice to see HD trying some new things in recent years.
19 in front tire and round headlight duell disc s up front. Then it would be a 15 k bike all day they need to build the cafe bike. And the 975 to look like a 883 iron..
I noticed the Buell-looking disc too. Very cool.
The tank capacity at 11.8 L and ground clearance at 96mm are the only two issues with the Sportster S IMO. Cant wait for your first ride!!
I just picked up mine today and it is better than I thought. First, it’s totally redesigned and it is very maneuverable. I highly recommend the Rain Mode because it really helps in getting used to the bike. I tried the Sport Mode and that bike PULLS you LOL…So far so good and I’m happy so far with it
It's the first offering for the new Sportster line. They stated in the promotion that more traditional bikes are coming down the line.
Dang! I had two harleys! A 48 and a 2018 fatbob and left them behind with no regrets! This bike might bring me back to harley! I dig it
I’m with you on that sigh at 5’07” ... think that sais it all.
Great editing as always, and some new fresh punchy details, that catch the eye and ear of your most loyal and attentive viewers (ME) 😂😜😋🙌🏼✊🏼👌🏼✌🏼🇵🇹
Not an HD fan but the fat bob 114 and this is nice. I would own either one
Very interesting approach to a stock, badass performer. Would love to park one next to my Road King!
This one looks really good and I'm sure performs better. However, the one I had from 2004 had a rear seat, backrest, and luggage rack. I didnt carry pillion very often but sure was nice to carry luggage: 30 pack of beer, 20 dollars groceries, food for potluck, overnight bag, etc. The small leather backpack I kept strapped to the backrest i remember being esp handy.
At first glance I thought it was a new Indian Scout Bobber !
Harley is doing something The MoCo hasn't done in a long time...generating excitement 💥 And even more freaky, is that its done by building bikes that are actually competitive against other bikes in the market segments, not by just riding coat-tails of what HD did in the past.
Would need to hear the exhaust sound. Can’t wait for you to road test.
I LOVE how this thing looks 😱
Great looking bike with great spec’s for sure! It’s exactly the type of bike that would have fit my riding style when I was in my 20s and 30s. Unfortunately, I am now well into my 70s.
If you can still ride, in fit condition, why not? If so, age is just a number. Harrison Ford is still looking GREAT doing it.
Call it whatever you want, I love it.
Wish I had a Motobob style channel to get a chance to ride all these bikes 😉🤔.
Man, your videos are always the best to get the complete news!
Appreciate that CR! Your support is always a big help 🙏
This looks great and specs are good. Looking forward to the road review.
This is the bike that lured me into Harley. And I am loving it. Celebrating our 1 year anniversary soon ❤️
How does this channel only have 160k subs? Narration is top notch 👌
Great video, loved the content! Keep up the good work!
At 120 hp it ought to be quite sporting indeed😎 I should like taller bars myself though…and I’m sure the accessories catalog will have some!
The sportster S looks cool, but I'm happy with my 2019 1200 Iron, but I'm a more particular motorcyclist, I love the minimalist style. All I need is just something to tell me how fast I'm going and when I need gas. But everyone is different and this bike is honestly great. It's realistically more of a sporty power cruiser. I imagine it will be super popular when it catches on.
Harley coming up to speed with the times, I think it looks powerful and mean , a bit pricey but that’s expected for such a premium bike, looking forward to your test ride and review, 👊
Really nice-looking motorcycle. Will be interested to see how you compare it to the others in its class! Looking fwd to seeing that video!
Got to admire the effort
Makes the previous sportsters look hopelessly dated... Yet, I still like them. And Harley might well drop their prices, gonna be patient and snap a sportsters 1200 up, on the cheap.
Holy shit, I actually like it
You’re just great motobob, just great. 👍
Love the TFT and Unique led headlight
750 street rod like ...with the same problem ..fix focus on the exhaust that will keep you warm when you don't want it !
Notice nearly every shot taken of the bike is from the exhaust side? The exhaust side I think looks pretty cool but soon as you walk over to the other side I think its pretty awful IMO...and I hope this thing sounds drastically better with an aftermarket exhaust cause the stock sound is pretty unappealing...
Every bike sounds unappealing w/ the factory exhaust.. at least IMO. Aftermarket pipes are a must for anything performance oriented with wheels!
@@cowmath77 Yea, the other side just doesnt do it for me. Its like they designed the Right side and then strictly left it to the engineering team of the Left. Guess Im just used to my Triumphs that look just as good on either side...
@@brettlarson912 My Triumph Twins sound quite nice and clean with their stock exhaust... Im sure the Harley engine needs some more "work" to keep the sound down and emissions seeing it is a more powerful engine.
Having rode the Pan Am, I can't wait for this. And I am not an HD fanboy.
This looks more like direct competition to Indian’s FTR than the scout bobber. I like the look of the new Sportster with the exception of the exhaust. I know that goes out anyways but still. Also to those concerned wit a fat front tire. I think younger guys like the look better. I personally like the fat tire in my scout twenty. I used to ride a 2007 zx6r and a fat front tire is what a power cruiser bike needs. It helps with stability, and riding comfort. Turning a fatter tire is no different than a skinny tire because you are using your weight to turn. A fat tire might also help keeping you safe on the road as you have more tire on the road.
It looks alright specs are good , tech well integrated, they might have a winner here , customizing market is going to go wild with it .
Great preview …. Looks like Harley is finally trying to enter the “new millennium” all be it 21 years late. Owned a 2009 Fat Bob for a while, but went back to Hondas after spending too much on repair and parts …. Keep up excellent work 👍
Yes!! A pillion seat option!💯💯
That loooks bonkers 🤯
Great video as always👍 I am not normally a Harley fan at all but I have to admit this looks great, really fresh and badass. Not convinced about forward controls, so it’s good there is an option on this, although as with all options it will push the price even higher than it already is. Look forward to your review as soon as you can get hold of one👍
Cheers LG. Yeah I can't wait to try it - I think it'll be somewhere in between the Indian Scout and FTR
Well the sporster sounds like any other Japanese motorbikes now.
And still not as fast!!
Stability control with IMu standard/3 modes vs only optional ABS with old version.
Nice to see Harley getting their act in gear.
Great review👍🏻
Bike looks fantastic. Now I would love to see something in this style but BIGGER from Harley (aka SoftTail line)😎😁
Harley's coming back stronger than before
That's a home run for HD@!
I can’t wait to test ride this bike.
120hp, engine is a stressed member of the chassis, stubby muscular looks. So they basically built a Vmax with FI and rider aids. Good job Harley!
Engines being a stress component is nothing new at all. H-D had a model this way around the 1910s... And that makes me remember that by those years, if not around the 1920s, had a model with four valves per cylinder. Just dig into it. You may be surprised that Japanese bikes aren't that technology setters at all.
I’ll never walk into a HD showroom again !! Ive been ignored (was wearing a shirt and tie after work) in both dealerships in my city. Never again !!
Just go and speak to someone who works there and stop being a precious cry baby. If you were actually interested in a Harley at all you would of sought someone out. I can only go by my local dealership who are more than happy to have a chat and get you a coffee without being pushy.
It’s true, most guys working in Harley shops don’t have time for you unless your tatted out with full sleeves. Which is to bad because Harley’s are awesome.
@@HamRidez Not a precious cry baby! I DID ask lots of questions, prices, availability, upgrade prices, best cash deal etc, only to be met with arrogant and ignorant sales people who pre judged me just like you have!! I wasn’t offered a test ride and told not to move any of the bikes as they were packed in close together. Short story: went to Indian dealer and within 30 mins was riding a Springfield which I later got a great deal on!! I even went back and bought my Ducati also.. so kiss my ass HD !!
@@darylclifford Do you want to buy a bike or get some attention? If I wanna get something no sell-dude (so-called manager) will stop me or break my mood to do it. If you want "some bike" then I got your point.
@Laffkin I had no particular bike in mind except a budget of $40k to find something I liked..
Being a younger rider, THIS is a Harley I can see myself buying
I like the Forward Pegs or better yet, Floorboards. I like to see a Full Rear Fender.
The 21 sportster s makes me want another bike.. badly. HD did a fantastic job of modernizing a classic design. The fat, meaty tires, wheel design, bar end mirrors, bronze accents, and an aftermarket style rear fender for the license plate from the factory help this bike look aggressive and attractive. I actually quite like the headlight too, which has been a turnoff for some. Now I just have to decide if I sell my ‘20 Mustang GT to be able to pick one of these up sooner.
I think it looks fantastic and the performance is impressive. Not a fan of forward controls though, wish they were mid as standard.
Would you choose one over a Triumph speed master or even the H-D Street Bob? Both similar priced 🤔
If you like to ride hard, then this will be infinitely better than either of those options.
I thought the concept looked a little better, specifically the exhaust, but this I'd amazing. That being said my thought process went like this -
Sees this bike
Epic I want one
Checks the price
I want a triumph!
I want one holy crap this bike is amazing
I never knew WHY Harleys were/are SO heavy. My old Buell XB12-R (using a HD sportster 1200cc engine) weighed in at 179kg dry. The donor bike 240kgs (dry). What are they making them out of LEAD? I'm not a fan of this new bike personally but I can see it selling for HD though.
I was totally against it (I really wanted the Bronx) until hearing more about it. Now I want to hear the ride reviews.
Is that rear fender enough to keep you from getting splattered? It almost looks too short. I also wonder how far you will get on only 3 gallons
i would love to hear the engine sound of this bike..
I liker this new model. "and there's a kit for that" should be on a T-shirt.
I started to Get a tad excited then remembered the Indian FTR1200 wallops it in every area.
Mid controls are available
Finally a good harley! Not over the top, just plain good
They did a great job with the bike. The 15k (USD) tag seems excessive. HD needs a sportster under 10k. Im skeptical they can pull this off with the top end version starting at 15k.
Looks fantastic, might be my first HD!?
Ha was looking for this yesterday!!!!
Looks pretty nice...can't believe they even sold the previous model by comparison
I agree, that single disc Brembo in the front better be enough stopping power! Why not just include 2 disc on bikes this powerful? Boggles the mind! Other than that, I like it and will definitely one of the bikes to consider when I want to trade up. Hopefully HD listens and changes that front brake set up.
Probably never going to buy a cruiser, but I must say this is by far the best looking Harley I've ever seen. That engine sounds like it's going to be fantastic as well. And it's not $20k+ either, so who knows... maybe Harley isn't dead after all.
Is the Revolution S derived from the V-ROD Revolution engine?
I still think the classic sportster look is way better, but that's just me
But we have nothing to do with the fact that aircooled engine is not an option anymore. It's a pity but mark my word in 20 years we will be discussing Sportster E-Volution.
would this bike gone the same way as Night rod or street750...
🤔🤔🤔
Finally! A proper bike from Harley
Alliteration on point in this one Bob 😉
Sometimes it just flows 🤘 and Harley's PR gave me a helping hand with the tuning for tremendous torque.
What I think..??
The undertail exhaust pipes should have been one on both sides. That way, it would have looked a lot BETTER, because that bodywork covering the exhaust looks good and even that would have looked BETTER if it was on both sides. Quite Balanced.
Tuned for Tremendous Torque,
but they De-tuned it from 150 PS of Pan-America's engine to 121 PS in Sportster S
for more Low-RPM grunt ? . . . or to stop on the Single Front Disc Brake ?
why not have full 150 PS ! even though it's lighter than PanAmerica, and will be equally quick.
Also equipped with a 6 speed gear box
I am a triumph fan. But I like the looks and the numbers on this bike. Not enough to buy one but it is a step in the right direction.
Finally something for us younger riders.
I really wish the headlight had a fairing around it like the fat bob does i think that looks loads better
It's cool but they still should make a classic air cooled Sporty
Give me some mids, another disc up front and different head lamp. Otherwise I'm loving what Harley is doing with these engines.
I'm love with this bike
Thx for the 6 secs showing the left side of that so-called best bike ever.
But how is the test Ride?
2:57 man this bike is beautiful!
It looks ok. Don't like the high pipes and letterbox light though. Round light and lower pipes that look less plasticy would be good. So would a slightly lighter weight, cheaper price and having max torque at 5k. Hope they make a smaller engined one....
Great looking bike. I’d have concerns about seat comfort and the size, or lack thereof, of the tank.
Sportsters are for short, "look how cool I am" rides
@@therealunclevanya and why this that a problem?
@@artagain8977 not at all, nor is having a small tank as it isn't a touring bike
I'm hoping this new bike drops the value of the Sportster 1200s. I would like to get a 1200T.
