Would be great to string some wins together. Some chances this week to get straightened out. Still tough though with all the injuries. Thanks for the comment and LGI.
Good 🌄, Gil, how are you? The Islanders not only won, but they held a lead, and they made St. Louis 🎶 the blues. They gave up PP goal, and everybody was nervous as 🐈. Ilya Sorokin put on a show for the next 6 to 7 minutes. Kyle Palmieri scored 2 empty net goals, including the empty net goal, and Maxim Tsyplakov set him up on one of them. I feel they can do this if they set their minds to it. They won most of their face-offs. Ilya Sorokin won his 100th career game, and Brock Nelson passes Bob Bourne, and ties him with John Tonelli.. Hero, Scott Mayfield with 10 block shots, Ilya Sorokin with 24 saves, and Brock Nelson who had a hand in all 3 goals. Saturday night was hockey Fights Cancer Night. 🐐, the PK. They're hosting the Red Wings tonight. The Wings lost to Boston last 🌙, and when it comes to putting the puck in the net, they're just as bad as the Islanders, so the Isles need to get it together, AND STAY OUT OF THE JOINT. HAPPY 🎂, JEFF NORTON, a member of The 1988 US Olympic Team. Hear from you later, Gil, but before I go, I must answer your question about where I got that clip about the 1977 game which the Blackhawks were the 🏡 team. I got it from Islander Pride on UA-cam; however, also on UA-cam, you can listen to the with game. It features a 📸 of the back of the Daily News. Also, I was 👀 the 1980 Finals that was originally on Classic Sports Network, and I have to tell you, the Islanders get 🚬 in game 2, but of course, they 🚬 the Flyers in games 3 and 4. Also in game 5, even though they lost, Trots proved that nobody was immune to his monster checks, NOT EVEN BOBBY CLARKE. Now, LET'S GO ISLANDERS.
Hope the Isles can keep it going tonight vs Detroit. Hard to imagine Brock Nelson is in great company with Bourne and Tonelli. Thanks for the update on where you found the game. Always good to hear from you and hear your memories from the good old days. LGI.
Kudos to Sorokin and Nelson for reaching these milestones! Great Story on Brocks goal for young Henry. Praying for a full recovery and long fruitful life. LGI
Good morning team! Gil, Sorokin gets this win for sure. Yes, we managed to bring the play to the Blues, but getting only 2 goals is not the kind of production I'm comfortable with offensively. The 3rd goal being an empty netter is sweet to see. The empty net goal is supposed to happen. How it has been elusive for the Islanders is beyond my imagination. Another PK disappointment, when Sorokin deserved the shutout. The team still has a long way to go before I feel comfortable about having a lead in the 3rd period. Hopefully they feel good about this win. Time to start stringing them together. Thanks again for what you do, Gil. Everyone, have a great day! See you all again tomorrow. Until then.. Let's Go Islanders!!
Tony, they need to take baby steps all things considered. Yeah, the offensive production isn't where it needs to be, that's been a problem for this team for a long time. Thanks for the comment, Tony. LGI.
These are the kind of games that they SHOULD win. If they can hang in there for a few more weeks until Barzal, Duclair, and Pelech back, a .500 record won't be too terrible. But, kudos to the Nelson line for the game they had. I can't wait until Tsyplakov catches fire and reveals why he was 4th in scoring in the KHL.
Agreed Daniel. These are games they should win, but in the past, they didn't always win them. They need to hang on until they get healthy. Then, ideally, they need to add some more talent but that's a different issue. Tsyplakov will catch fire but it will take a little time for him to get used to the NHL. He's already been an upgrade. Thanks for the comment, Daniel. LGI
Gm Gil. While I was glad to see the Isles win, they are still 5 games below 500 at 8 and 13. Their penalty kill surrendered a call less than a min into the kill and scored on the pp. A long way to go to be competitive with the better teams.
For sure, Eric. The team needs to win the games they are capable of winning. All the injuries make it tougher but let's face it, even with everybody healthy, this team isn't an elite contender. Thanks for the comment and LGI.
About time this team pressed and didn't sit back. That's how and why they scored the empty netter. They used to be, and must continue to be a hard forechecking team. I've said it before on here, and I'll say it again... If they pressed on the PK instead of just sitting back, they would be much better off.
Gil, were you watching the same game?! The Blues had the Isles pinned in their own end for minutes upon minutes! At times it felt like the Blues were on a 5v5 Power Play and ... geez .. guess what .. our PK let in another goal ... let's not gloss over that! If it wasn't for Ilya, this game would have been yet another loss. Yes, they won ... but the bleeding is far from being stopped. ... btw ... Brock's goal was on the PP, not at full strength with his linemates.
I know the Isles didn't dominate this game. I guess I have low expectations most of the time with all the injuries. Sorokin did bail them out, that's for sure. And the PK was terrible as I explained. But this team needs to find ways to accumulate points with all these injuries and stay close until they get healthy. Bottom line: this team needs to be better and it won't happen until changes are made. Thanks for the comment, gallegorider149. LGI.
Its a typical isle w. Not dominating but a w simply because 30 was better than other goalie-again. Isles outshot and get only 2 g with e n both from same line. pk gives up only g-again. Not much else to say. Just a boring w from an unexciting team. At least isles avenged earlier 3-0 L to blows forcing blows to make a coaching change. Now wings again, 0-2 vs. detroit.
Hope they can find a way to beat Detroit. This is how the Isles win. It isn't pretty, it relies heavily on the goalie to overcome the team's other shortcomings. Thanks for the comment, Steven. LGI.
It wasn't pretty, but I'll take it. This team needs wins and style points matter less with all these injuries. Sorokin is the reason they won for sure. Without him, this is a lottery level team. Thanks for the comment, 2tellthetruth-is2um. LGI
Hahaha our excitement is now watching the islanders leading a game late in the 3rd period and just waiting to see if they can lose the game in 30 seconds left, I would rather see the team tank and grab a early pick, Realistically if they make the playoffs where are they going ??? Leave!!! Go!!! Please find something else to do than keep destroying my team Lou Lamarillo please go away thanks Gil ☝️
who are isles gonna pass to make playoffs? nj, rags, canes, caps, fla, tb, laffs? all better so no way. can't even reach for third this time. b's will get it going. much tuffer this season. I hope louzer leaves and doesn't let the door hit him on the way out.
Lou should step down if he's not willing to retool this roster, I agree Raymond. As for seeing the team tank, it probably would help the team in the long run IF they had a new direction. Thanks for the comment and LGI.
All hail sorokin
Here, here, he was the biggest reason for their success. Thanks for the comment, Cory. LGI
The team is hanging in there. Better days ahead. Hopefully beat wings tonight 😉

Hi Gil, hopefully the islanders will string a few wins 🎉 good job Gil and happy thanksgiving 🦃 let’s go islanders 🎉
Thanks, Frank. Wishing you and your family a Happy Thanksgiving as well. A few wins would be very welcomed. Thanks for the comment and LGI.

Thanks for the comment, Darrell. I hope your prayers for Henry are answered. LGI

Spot on about pressing more on the PK. They are too passive and it makes things too easy for the opponent. Thanks for the comment, mrjghoward. LGI.
Lyon already had two wins against the Islanders this season....no need to guess who will be in net tonight.😊
And he is indeed in net against Varly. Thanks for the comment, pyrielrising4338. LGI

When are the big guns back?
Still another 2-4 weeks according to the original timetable. Thanks for the comment, lipscantelon9144. LGI
Yes they won but it wasn't convincing by any stretch of the imagination. Sorokin is why they won otherwise they came close to giving up another one.
Win is a win even if ugly😩
@thormanism I agree all I am saying is they got lucky playing the same game as always

At most I see one spot, Steven, that could open up. This team needs to retool, and everybody not named Lou knows it. Thanks for the comment and LGI.
