I love the fact that Mastros has a bone-in filet mignon. It is so delicious!! I dont know if you have been to Musso and Franks in Hollywood. It is another old school style restaurant! Good ambiance and food!
You gotta try Steak 48. They were the original owners of mastros. When they sold the restaurant to the current owners, they had to sign a non compete and weren’t allowed to open a steakhouse for 20 years( not exactly sure of the years). Their non compete ended and they finally opened steak 48
Mastros went downhill when Landry’s bought them. Landry’s now owns a ton of chain steakhouses, including Morton’s, The Palm, Del Friscos and others. The quality of the meat seems to have gone downhill after they acquired these once great steakhouses. As others have commented, the Mastro family has opened new steakhouses such as Steak 48 and Ocean 48 that are top notch and use much better quality meat. Those are definitely worth checking out.

You NEED to try Eddie V’s! The truffle mac n cheese, lobster mashed potatoes, crab cakes , omg everything! Their steak also melts like butter in your mouth, their drinks and desserts are also 🔥

Houston’s in Pasadena has delicious steaks, I get the Hawaiian with a loaded baked potato. They also have good ribs and their artichoke dip appetizer is good too! 👌🏾

Beverly Hills location is the best one but Maestro's is usually good, just like Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. The Cowboy Ribeye and the gnocchi is my favorite. People usually go for the lobster mac and cheese and the spinach.

Never had so many shells in my crab cakes in all of my life. My stuffed lobster was way over cooked and they cracked my crème brûlée by putting a cookie in it 🤦🏾♀️ and for that I paid $321. I know all about it, he was fine sticking to the mom and pops and neighborhood restaurants.

I’ve been to almost all of the “top notch” steakhouses and I swear none of them taste better than the ones my wife and I make at home. There’s never any seasoning or marinating. It’s like ur just eating straight up meat. Not our cup of tea
