+Jennifer hello! The product used is actually gold leaf that comes in sheets and not gold foil. You can get it online or from a craft/art shop near your location.

Yes, you could use a laser printer. Testing would be recommend first though as the finished quality would depend on the type of laser printer and what settings are used.
