I just learned my favorite song this morning. Thank you so much. Hearing this and being able to recreate it and understand what’s going on blows my mind. Never thought I’d be here
Cool stuff Marty. I'm new to your channel, but I have a request if I may... Can you teach me pendulous skin by Mastodon. It's got a really awesome acoustic intro I'd like to learn.. Please
The best teacher, the coolest presentation, the most practical content, my primary source for getting the coolest sounds with limited time to practice. Thanks for your help over the years.
I can not thank you enough for not only giving me new skills, and adding music to my life, but somehow your awesome attitude makes it a pleasure and not a struggle. Thank you Marty - you truly rock.
I think you're the only guitar teacher on youtube who gathers useful lessons, cool songs, and a really clear way of explaining. I'm french and it's really easy to understand what you're saying. By the way if one day you lacked of inspiration for new videos, you could make some about major pentatonic, minor, blues or others interesting scales. To quickly show 2 or 3 positions and some classic licks to work. I know you've already made something like that about the minor pentatonic. I'd personnaly like to see videos about building a solo where we jump from on scale to an other. Very few videos about that pon youtube. Thanks for your work !
Thanks man, I've watched several lessons on this tune but for some reason you're the only one that covered the " I don't mind chasing mice around" part.
Classic I was just moving a chord down the neck and realised hey that sounds like stray cat strut. So cool to play all the songs from my youth. Thanks Marty.
Shout out to marty for teaching me how to play the guitar and for teaching me 50% of all the songs I know. If it wasn't for you I wouldn't know how to play at all. If you got too many guitars I'm always here 👀 my girlfriend is getting tired of me borrowing her guitar. Thanks a bunch marty!!!
Marty! Man, you are undisputedly the greatest guitar teacher on the web, nearly every song and riff I've learnt I've got it from you. Keep on posting lessons, and I was wondering if you could upload a lesson teaching Sultans of Swing by Dire Straits. I was playing a gig at a restaurant and they all wanted to hear Sultans of Swing, but I couldn't do it so I promised I would play it for them next show. Please reply in the time space of a month possibly, you'd be a great help. Thanks Marty, may the Schwartz be with you.
Thanks a lot Marty! This has to be one of my all time favorites! Do you know what would be cool? A lesson on jazzy blues and a little concept on that augmented chord! ;D
Hi Marty, you're a great teacher I learn a lot from your tutorials, you always do variations in the strummin, so it's much better than tab sites I think!!! also really funny guy you're a friend!!! Saludos from Argentina
Also I'm in collage and I want to be in a band soon while I'm still youngish haha so that's why I'm pretty serious about the everyday practice. The motivations there for me.
Thanks for the great summary of the chords and riffs! At time 3:50 or so, the arpeggio is taken from an Eb Augmented triad (not E natural) which coincides with a G-Augmented triad (with D# note,) resolving nicely to the Cm "home" key chord. In Jazz lingo, the augmented arpeggio chord would be named G7#5 or G7b13. Agreed?
I think this inversion is the best i have ever heard.Well done my top man i just have to build speed now then i may become a cat to.Just one thing as i am a big fan of yours i dont wish to be rude but may i please have that Taylor t shirt i would keep it close to my heart.I dont think you would but hey it would mean so very much to me.Thanks for helping me with this. All the very best and keep up the good work.Love Whittie.
Great Lesson Marty. What I would like to see is a closeup of your RIGHT Hand, as i been watching your videos and trying to get a feel for how you hold that pick! It appears your laying that on your two fingers, with the thumb on top? Sort of like a mini-triangle. Looks like it put your hand in a great position and is great. lol
Great Job! I've been looking for those last 4 notes on that fill!! Can I offer one minor alternative way to play those last 4 jazzy notes? Same notes but instead of playing the g-flat on the 11th of the D string, start on the 6th of the G string. And play the F note on the 6th of the B string. So instead of going 11, 10, 7, 8... its simply 6, 6, 7, 8. It worked better for me. Hopefully it helps someone else play it a little cleaner.
Thanks for all the free videos man. I love the way up teach the guitar! I was wondering if you could do the Stevie Ray Vaughan song, couldn't stand the weather. I love that song.
I just learned my favorite song this morning. Thank you so much. Hearing this and being able to recreate it and understand what’s going on blows my mind. Never thought I’d be here
My favorite band of all time. Often overlooked, very underrated. Great lesson as usual Marty.
Amen.
Only people i could think of that could possibly underrate this band have to be the ones that havent heard them yet... shirley 🤔
@@barrylewis8266 They're not in the RR HOF, they're definitely underrated. At the very least, Setzer should be in it for resurrecting 2 genres
@@rockabillylaker who the fk cares about the hall of fame bollocks anyway its about as credible as the bloody eurovision song debacle lol
really fun lesson!!
Thanks man!love your lessons
Can you please do Ensiferum-Old man ? It is an awesome metal song.
keep this in mind!
Cool stuff Marty. I'm new to your channel, but I have a request if I may... Can you teach me pendulous skin by Mastodon. It's got a really awesome acoustic intro I'd like to learn.. Please

The little tips you give like "my fingers a capo and that's an Em chord" really help me with visualising the fingering. Thanks!

Sei il migliore a spiegare le lezioni dei brani !!!!!
Hilarious introduction to the lesson..."I'm so stupid!" Cracked me up.
on the G chord you could add the Eb on the high e string to make it more altered jazzy
+Rick Danner that kills my fingers but sounds good
Giacomo Bergonzi LOL !!
Great to see someone having fun teaching. Thanks
