As soon as I saw it was a Sheraton I thought the same thing.
Someday! Man that song brings back some good memories... You made me remember some good times Mark, thank you.
So glad they brought these back!!!
HE PLAYED THE STROKES!!!!! MORE PLZ, AND MAYBE SOME RADIOHEAD THATS NOT CREEP!!
Maybe my favorite guitar of the day tracklist so far! Killer Sheraton too, love the Epiphone love the show has been showing lately!
I can dig it.

Hey guys, love Guitar of the Day. The Firebird was sweet. Nice use of Blind Faith. And I can so relate to broken headstocks on them. My "Bicentennial" model (gold hardware, dot inlays, stop tailpiece) broke not once but twice. The second time required a rebuild. The fix was fantastic though and I eventually got the original headstock autographed by Certified Guitar Player, Tommy Emmanuel. He almost shed a tear when he signed it. Peace.
I love my Epiphones and that one would fit right in with mine. Thanks for showing it
Wow I’m actually impressed with the sound of those mini humbuckers. #unexpected
Love those PAF mini-humbuckers.
Thanks Mark and Jen.
Byeeeee!!!
Excellent playing great player Mark !!!!!!Agnesti!
Mark, as always.....great videos and sweet playing. Look forward to seeing these each day. Any chance you could provide a ball park value on some of these great guitars?
cat793c2008 I go on reverb and ball park it off what people sell them for on there. Seems to work pretty well
Beautiful colors!!!
Hands up for the people who comes here just to watch Mark playing?
Marco Lima ✋
Excellent selection of songs today!
Thanks for sharing your excellent musical talents.
Mark, great video as always! My 18th birthday is next Wednesday! By chance could you play a bit of John Mayer?
1.The Strokes"Someday" 2.Oasis "Don't Look Back In Anger" 3.Spinal Tap "Gimme Some Money" or The Stones etc..I'd let this guitar be my friend:-)..Wood won't usually let you down...
Bodyknowledge 77 yes, or BOOM BOOM BOOM John Lee Hooker 🔥
Mike M ah yes indeed!
No 3 is John Lee Hooker's Boom, Boom, Boom - which was played on a Sheriton of the same vintage.
I knew the first one was by the strokes😂 it has their vibe
YOU DID ONE YES MARK THANK YOUUUUUUUUU
Always cool Mr. AgneI , I can only imagine how many songs you have stored up in that bucket , anyway another entertaining and informative GOD , love the epiphone stuff as that makes up a large portion of my collection , keep on rockin. Hi Jen.
God damn...Mark can play some blues. Im impressed
#ALLCAPSFORCARLOS
Always love a little John Lee Hooker. Great job Mark, keep doing what you're doing. A new surprise every day. HYEEE Jen!! 😎🎶🎸
Eppi makes a fine guitar I know I love mine !
But "don't look back in anger", I heard you say. Thanks for doing some Oasis!
I have a lot of sixties fender and Gibson’s. Best guitar I own is a 70s epi Japanese Sheraton. If you see one, grab it. Beats any of my 335s.
Awesome love that split inlay wew. Keep em coming
the hook! THERE YOU HAVE IT!!!
Love me some wednESday guitars. That one would do it for me. Nice strummin’ Mark!
That was sick mark
I'm not a fanatic on ES guitars but that guitar is beautiful, nicer than a Gibson I think, more rare. Rock on!
I was thinking the same thing. It sounds as good as it looks.
the strokes hell yeaahh
Thunderstruck Thursdays! We don't need no stinkin' basses!
Gotta lay down son John Lee on that thang!! Thanks Mark and Jen!! Lo e you, love the show!!
Lovely stuff. Fist time I got all three songs!
🌲 of LIFE !
love the strokes tune man
That Telecaster from yesterday? That was awesome.
Ooh this thing is a janglepuss. I love it.
Yeah Oasis finally !!!
That's the 1997 Noel Gallagher guitar yea
Tovas Stalin Isn't Noel's a Sheraton II?
Matt Infante I don't know what's the difference between the original and II, so maybe ur right 🤔
But they look similar tho😂
Tovas Stalin MADFERRITTTTT
Never mind. I think he has an original along with his signature Sheraton
Matt Infante he had 2 Nashville reissues made in the Gibson factory in 1994 I believe
Shwing! Is it another installment of TV Thursday?!?
Love these videos.!
some Credence Clearwater Revival or maybe some Johnny cash.
Man that Sheraton sounds GREAT! Love the nasal growl in those mini PAFs. Must be that PAF magic! To me, sounds as good as a lot of full sized humbuckers.
YEEEAHHHH no Thumpin' Thursday!!!! LP Thursday!
Oh wow. The neck pickup sounds amazing
Brilliant Boom playing there
How much do I need to get this bad boy? I've got a '93 Korean Sheraton and I thought that that one is cool. This one here is just out of the park !!
Did Jen get the transmission help she needed?
From a panoramic point of you, Gibson learned everything they know about F hole guitars from Epiphone.
It’s killer that Mark broke into John Lee Hooker. Didn’t Howlin’ Wolf use an ES-355?
Transmission?? Just buy a new a car Jen. 😂 Epiphone sure has a fine line up. Keep em coming Mark. Great Demo. 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🍻🍻🍻
Sorry to get pedagogical/pedantic. (But that's our goal here, isn't it? ;) But those aren't "coils". They're not magnets either (there's a bar magnet under them on the bottom of the pickup). They're "pole pieces". Some pickups, like Fender Strat/Tele etc, have pole pieces that are magnets as well. But PAFs, etc, have steel poles that carry and shape the field up from a bar magnet that they contact.
Carry on! :D
Oh! And no, string length (or angle) behind the bridge saddles or nut, contrary to popular belief, does not change the tension of the string. (If it changed the tension it would change the pitch. And then you'd tune it right back to the tension it was before.)
What does happen is extra unplayable string length provides more string to stretch which, counter-intuitively, makes you have to bend the string *farther* horizontally to get the same change in pitch/tension. That's why we can feel the difference between right/left handed Strat/Tele style headstocks in our playing, and why the reverse way is arguably better (as the strings you're going to bend the most, the treble ones, have the least extra string to reel out from behind nut/saddle and work against your bending).
Make sense?
Well i learned something today, thanks man!
I learn so much from this channel! But when the topic veers into physics I suddenly get an advantage over the historians. ;) (I'm not a half bad historian at this point myself but mostly just for classic Fenders. Mark has taught me tons about all the other brands and models though. This is the only YT channel I watch religiously 5 days a week!)
Admiral Quality you only watch this channel 5 days a week? Which day do you skip, Freakin' Straturday? Thumpin' Thursday?? 😂
Gibsunday and... Mosrite Mondays? :P
god this thing is beautiful
Ah yes. My favorite spinal tap song. 🎼Gimme some moneyyyy🎼 💰 🎸 🔥🎸
Hey Mark this is Jersey JukeboxJim , I know this is before your time (Haha) But what about the Bicentennial Guitars? 1776 -1976
FUCK YEAH THE STROKES
Superb!
Wasn't the bridge pickup song "Gimme Some Money" by Spinal Tap?
These mini humbuckers are so loud and full sounding
I'm a little puzzled with Mark's awkward style & manner of playing bar-chords up/down the neck, for example @ 5:21 while playing on the couch. Where did he learn that unorthodox grip, with the thumb wrapped around the neck? Maybe he played baseball in high school?? Because that's how batters are trained to hold a baseball bat when they choose to "bunt" at the pitch.
Thanks for playing The Strokes! Please do Epiphone Wilshire 65'!!!
Gotta do that Maton man! You gotta do that Maton!
I was wondering their Mark. If you guys ever did an acoustic bass guitar on thumping Thursdays or flat top Fridays?? Would be awesome if or when you guys do!!
Joseph Small-Alexander unless they somehow get an Earthwood there aren't any ABGs in the same range of price or collectability as what they feature on this channel.
m.ua-cam.com/video/SFhoIhe8OC8/v-deo.html They did an Earthwood couple of years ago, but not GOTD.
mark always says how good he is at selling these guitars. If someone can really be talked into spending these vintage-guitar amounts of money that didn't already walk into the store knowing they were gonna buy it, then i have some snake oil to sell those people
They definitely sell themselves.
Yeah he sure loves bragging!
You're outta your ever lovin' mind if you don't recognize how these virtual test drives that Mark & Jen take us on contribute to the sale of these beauties. Additionally, you're fooling yourself if you don't acknowledge that they've opened your eyes to guitars that you didn't even know existed. Be real pal, give credit where credit is due. Peace.
johnny, false.
Darrien Day i would never fly to California and buy a guitar from these guys. I'm sure their "prices" aren't any better than some people on reverb or eBay who are selling modern Epiphones or Squiers or even Fenders and Gibsons from merely five years ago. Also from the other videos I've seen on this channel, Mark doesn't seem like the nicest guy. Also why does he fuck up the back of every guitar he touches with a jacket? Does norm not give a shit? I guess he doesnt
Happy WednESday everyone!
"Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom!"
Matthew Paluch I
Perimeter burst looks wonderful. I prefer it to tear drop burst.
7:55 Sooooooooooooooooo Sally can't wait
Mark, You gotta do one of those solid body 335's that gibson did! it could be a wierdass wednesday and a cant spell wednesdat with out es all in one guitar!!!
Guitar sounds great
Keep the jacket comments coming. Also, vintage MUSA BC Rich Mockingbird for a Weird-Ass Wednesday would be cool.
Hey Mark, my 18th birthday is next Friday, do you think you could play some Blink or Beastie Boys next week?
So good. Wish I had that kind of money
Long time watcher just asking again, my son's first birthday, and my 29th, is March 1st. We'd love a shout out. Possibly some pearl jam.
Not bad for a used guitar. How much longer till we see a vox or some weird guitar.
Used old stuff is supposed to be cheaper. What’s going on here?
you would think they would tell you what they want for it.
jackie ford
It's really just a cool infomercial selling guirars
Why is the binding on the neck so white, and the rest of the binding so yellowed? I notice this on other older guitars. Way awesome Epi.
skimmer521 lacquer as probably worn off the edges of the neck and it isn't normally put in top of a fretboard at all, it ageing is what makes it go yellow
Man that thing is sweet! I want to be friends with it!
The john lee hooker guitar , i saw him on my 21st bday at the Moore theater in Seattle in 93' if you weren't there in grunge town you missed out on one of rock's last big breakouts ahh the past
thats so funny. i was watching a fleet foxes performance today and this is the guitar that robin uses for some of the tracks
man The Strokes !!!! awesome
Love it.
would be cool to see a super early charvel
This guitar sounds more like the old records and TV performances from early 60s then any other
great lis t as always

So this isn't the e-112 with the mini humbuckers and carved spruce top? Or did he just unsale me from buying a $15k guitar? (as if I had the dough to spend)
