Being in the research stage and deciding exactly what we want in a boat your episode was right on the mark. Thank you so much for sharing with us. As we get closer to the day of purchase we certainly will get your buying a boat guide. Until our adventures cross, fair winds and full sails. Jack and Billie
Love your tips. We bought a 420 in Greece last august and sailed it to the Netherlands . An owners version which we're happy with. It has diesel engines but was a hybrid before and still has the 17kW generator :-)
Hola andrea y alejo , Alejo buene explicacion y andrea tambien , ( pero parece muy anciosa y habla muy rapida andrea mas tranquila) que la vida no te corre gracias y sigan a si abrazo
Hi Chris, That is a great idea we will add it to our list on to make videos. Yea we did a lot of research we will be releasing a guide on our website in case you’re interested
@@LivingHakuna Awesome! I am very interested in your guide. I will keep watching for it. If you do a video on boat choice please include your thoughts on engine choice. Most folks don't seem to care but you seemed to have strong opinions and I would love to know why.
Hello I would like to add one thing, on Facebook is a world group people from the U.S and other countries, talking about all kinds of stuff, U can ask a question or post whatever and someone on the planet will respond, just like the page " All Things Sailing " and ur hooked up! Check it out.
Surveyors are pretty much like home inspectors. The only difference is, a boat surveyor just wants his money, where a home inspector will tell you up front that an old furnace is cracked. Most brokers are worse than used car salesman... show me the money, but I won't show you the complete condition or history of the boat. I love that you both had a little negative experience so that you can help others not experience the same. True care and compassion for others. I love this about you much more than others who worry about editing, etc...
We are under contract for a 2007 Lagoon 420. We would love to wait for the video but we frankly don’t have the time as we are supposed to have the haulout/survey done by 1/14 and close by 1/24. Any way you could pre-release some info (we would really like insurance companies/cost as well as info on a documentarian).
Hi Jason, Lagoon 420’s are awesome! Are you getting an owner's version or 4 cabins? Send me an email and we can try to help you with any question you might have hello@Livinghakuna.com
"Make your money when you buy the boat" is probably the worst advice given that buying a boat is a horrible financial decision in any case. You're not going to make money buying a boat. More like "Try not to hemorrhage as much money when you buy the boat".
Hi Lydia, we are glad you liked the video and found it helpful. We will be releasing a guide on our website in case you’re interested. Best of luck with the purchase of you’re boat!
So, I'm in the process of buying a boat much like yours as we speak. You make several AMAZING points in this video that I'd like to really thank you for. 1) Know your boat and the faults that particular boat has and point them out to the Surveyor. HUGE!!! 2) Do your research. If you think you've done enough research, do about 20 hours more! Goes back to #1...Know your boat. 3) Know that every boat has a fault, whether it be in design or previous use. Even brand new boats have serious defects. 4) Know just how much money a boat has and set a reasonable budget for yourself that takes into account just how much time, effort and money that particular boat requires. I've had very experiences friends make this mistake only to have to sell their boat b/c they mistook what it takes to keep it up. EVERYTHING breaks on a boat and that is part of the fun, in a way. Just know that. Accept it. Have the $$ to pay for it. HA! I've saved this vid and will watch it again to remind me of all of this. Thanks, guys! You've got a new subscriber! Good luck and if I see you at the Miami Boat Show in Feb. I'll make a point of saying hi! Keep up the good work.
Thank you so much for all this information, we wish we had some one to talk to about this boat buying process, we are about to start our own journey and are researching so much, but no one to talk to. you two have been great in actually producing this vid. thanks for being honest and forthcoming
Calm down Scorsessi... They are young and still learning. They take advice well, just don't be a dick about it. They improve with time. Since you are such a professional, use honey instead of vinegar and offer solid advice 🤦🏻♂️
The reason we decided not on hybrid is because the model that the lagoon 420 hybrids weren’t very efficient so you have to run the generator to be able to run the engines so we preferred Diesel engines
I know that making videos is hard but I feel like you’re yelling at me through this whole video and it stresses me out. Please dial down the volume if you can.

How much did you have to put down? Percentage. And what are your monthly cost for the boat? Getting ready...

Es una pena que no esté traducido al Español
Hola Daniel! Ya lo acabamos de traducir para que lo puedas ver. Esperamos que te guste, saludos! :)
I am curious why you said no hybrids.
Cheers
