there doesnt seem to be any real zombie threat in dayz SA, most of the towns, which were ripe with undead in the mod version, are practically deserted with only one zombie occasionally stumbling upon you.
How do you encounter so many people? I rarely see anyone at all, especially with good gear like a M4.

I was looking on steam and it shows dayZ as a solo game now do you need arma still or can you just buy dayZ off of steam and play without arma?
This one is the Standalone so you can play it without arma. The Standalone is its own game not the mod, but it is in Alpha so be aware of that.

max it out .. i have same specs and get 20fps in big towns so it doesn't matter the game hasn't been optimized yet .. 64fps looking at the sea max settings on everything
Why so much ram dude? For a game it does not do much unless you are video editing. 8 gb ram is way more than enough for any game.
