+Theamc Dead yeah, there is a 1 in 18,446,744,073,709,551,616 chance we will find these planets shown in this video. got the number of planets from the back of a playstation mag. not sure if its the exact amount tbh.
the cool thing is that no one watching this video will see these planets. there are over 18 quintillion planets, everyone will have a different experience. that's pretty amazing.
+RamenFox12 actually it over 18 quintillion lol you can go to each planet for a sec and it well take over a billion years to see them all, now that's amazing
Dear IGN and Hello Games. This game has over 18 Quintilian planets. You can show us 30 minutes of exploring a different planet once every week right up until launch and you still wouldn't spoil not even a grain of sand of this game. Come on, guys, give us some substance!
I just made a comment about this on someone else's thread. You're exactly right. I actually find it a little suspicious that it is still so hush hush even when they must know that the likelihood of spoilers is virtually nonexistent (assuming that the planets are actually properly varied). The only alternative is that they are hiding something.
+MisterBull * Well, it would spoil the extent of of how alien the creatures and plants can actually get and how varied the terrain is. Some people want to find that out themselves.
Joel66 l well yeah, I get that. dont get me wrong, I'm hyped about this game. But the wait is killing me and these short and sparse previews showing nearly the same thing over and over is kind of burning me out. to give you an idea of my hype, I'm subscribed to channels like Cobra TV and Sirian and I've watched their videos almost religiously... But I've seen nothing but the same three planets over and over for the past two months... I feel we need more. :P most followers of this game would agree with me here.
Joel66 l Yes, but things get stranger and more incredible the closer you get to the center of the universe. It's still all very systematic. And it's not like they aren't able to pick and choose the planets (or particular locations on particular planets) that they demonstrate. With how much variation there is (or is marketed to be), they should *most definitely* still be able to show more than two minutes of gameplay per video w/o worrying about spoilers. It's kind of inexcusable for a $60 indie game. P.S. don't get me wrong: I am so excited for this game and have no doubts it will be a day one purchase for me...I just have a few concerns with the way that they are releasing information and I prefer to be well informed over riding hype trains (not saying that's what you're doing, just venting my own concerns).
the center of the galaxy will be a huge planet with cities covering it entirely, and it will be one of the best places to actually meet other players because everyone's aim is to reach it.
I'm kinda glad we're not getting hugely extensive parts of gameplay for NMS just yet. What I've seen here with the desert and radioactive planets is enough to convince me there's a crazy amount of variation in environment, without revealing too much pre-release.
This has me excited. These creatures and worlds are truly fascinating. And do you know what? Even if this game falls short of its vision, the fact that they tried to make a game like this, is still worth something, and means everything.
+Axerveon Did you not see the video titled "21 minutes of new gameplay"? It released a week ago. It goes into depth of what you will actually be doing in this game.
+Timothy Mihocka mate 21 min is long enough to show a speck of the area of a planet and a dinky cruise out in space, have you not forgotten how massive this game is? 21 minutes isn't even coming near the surface
+Jovalin Yeah a pool of WATER will vaporize. Who knows, some element out there could turn to liquid around 700 degrees Celsius. The aliens would probably cool off in that :)
It's nice to see some variety in things, and if I'm not mistaken this is the first time we've seen a hot and toxic planet! Can't wait for this game!!!!
Would be nice if we could make our own space empires and trade/go to war. Kinda like Spore. If this game had cell, creature, tribal, civilization and space colonization modes, this could be the greatest soul successor in gaming history imo. VR is a must too.
+Chrillss_ It's so old and I put so many hours into it. There comes a point in time when enough it enough and you just want a sequel. This is the closest thing I'll get to a Spore sequel so I might as well get it.
+Captain Clutch 2 Well, Sean Murray DID hint at the possibility of building space stations. So player dominance and expansion are a strong possibility, albeit difficult to achieve.
We've got a load of No Man Sky articles on the Galactic Observer website, if anyone is interested. Useful if you're stuck without access to UA-cam as we analyse each video as well as cover other No Man's Sky news.
I go on IGN's channel > I find the latest No Man Sky vid > I get really excited > the video is only less than 3 minutes long :,( Please IGN make longer videos.
i dont know man, i really dont know...... it looks amazing and the promises they made are craaaazy, i wont believe anything until i've seen it on my own tv screen
Shawnawesomeer The thing is it shows the same exact stuff they was showcased in the last couple of videos they did. Yes they finally showed an Alien and some of the language system, but that's not enough to get me invested in the game.
+Alex Alvaradocali yeah I get that. but considering that some people won't rename them/ won't take the effort to even land on them it would be nice to have names that are easily pronounced (not to say I can't come up with my own ways to say their names but id like to have it correct)
I think it's kind of cool, because it makes them sound like really special names than sound, well, alien. It's also cool to see how one would personally prefer to pronounce them. Like the way the guy in the video pronounced "Yzheleuz" is completely different than how I would have (I'd say "eez-hell-ooz" :D)
To anyone wondering this game is going to have from 60 to 120 galaxies! Believe me i've done my math! There is no way in hell you can fit more than 18 quintillion planets into like single galaxy! Lol go figure! Based on common scientific knowledge combined with what we know about this game so far, one galaxy average in size should fit around 300 billion stars in it! One Star System has usually from 5-10 planets orbiting its star! Take an average number of planets each system has (for ex. If you take - 7 you won't be too far off!) and then divide number 300 billions by 7 to find out how many star systems average fits into single galaxy! Even considering the scientific fact that our Galaxy Milky Way is that Average sized galaxy, so that there are bigger Galaxies out there, that mankind discovered it still cannot surpass 300 billions by more than twice, otherwise term "average" would kinda be pointless to describe the size of Milky Way! I also doubt that developers of this game would purposely make average sized galaxy bigger than what is scientifically accurate! Lol because if you think about it whats the point?? In fiction (In our case computer games!), creators have to dumb things down, because of limiting resources are usually! So they can't for ex. create an entire copy of real life city in simulator games like GTA etc...! That is not the case here with this game obviously, hardware they are using to create worlds in this game seems to be allowing scaling things to their realistic and scientifically accurate counterparts! Developers have no reasons as there is no point to make it much bigger than that! To find out how much bigger it is take 18 quintillions and devide that by the average number of star systems an average sized galaxy usually has! I explained above how to do that, but in case people are careless to read just devide 300 billions by 7! 300 billions are all the stars in a Milky Way average sized galaxy, while 7 is an average number of planet each Star Sustem has within this galaxy! When you find out that number go ahead and divide 18 quintillions by that number! When you're finally finished with calculations you should get something among the range of 60-120! This final number is number of the galaxies this game allows to have! Off course there are more galaxies than 120 known to science as of now, but its all what developers could squeeze of the engine by using 64-bit code for their procedural generation, which 18 quintillions and around the half more in itself!...
***** but then that means... not only are there an infinite number of dimensions, but also an infinite number of universes each with its own infinite number of dimensions.
can you really spoil a game thats virtually infinite? However i get the fact that there needs to be balance, and you don't want to over hype the game. Tbh i just want the game now....
1:40 Amazing! The random creature generation doesn't necessarily give all animals arms and legs! I thought it would get a little boring always seeing animals that have limbs, but we might actually see creatures that bounce or crawl around without arms and legs :D
so wait a second...what are the chances of anyone finding these exact planets? peobably non. I just hope that this is not the only type of planets we see.
+charlie gaudino I believe this is a demo build for press and news purposes/showcases. The actual game may be a different version and not even have these planets. The full game will be totally different from this, there's still 2 months and a day left until release.
+charlie gaudino What he said, but you can find the coordinates of that specific planet like the one shown here on IGN and find it in your own game. That is the neat thing about it.
+Mr. President yes I believe they said the server would be wiped and start over again. my point is though, I really hope that this isn't the only level of diversity in planets or it would get old fast.
+charlie gaudino Nah, Sean Murray declared that so far they're only allowing themselves to show things that the player can comprehend... but as you get to the center of the galaxy things become... let's say, rather flamboyantly exotic. I'll quote "Some players will even be underwater without knowing it, it's not gonna be actual water, in fact some planets will be so strange that you won't understand what you're seeing sometimes." So don't worry not all of them will be the typical "Swamp", "Desert", "Jungle", "Snow", "Forest" biomes, that's not how it works. They'll show incredibly exotic planets but not just yet, as they want to keep it as a surprise, said the lead developer.
It would be the worst luck to have if out of all the stars in the galaxy and planets in this game where they said 99% may never even be touched, and you start off on the one with acid rain on land surrounded by an acid lake.
i hope there is more verticality. all the planets or now seem like endless flat terrains. need to see some cliffs and waterfalls. Still a very intriguing game. looking forward to play it
Don't worry about that. Sean Murray has said that there will be some worlds. That will have mountains taller than Everest. I also believe seeing gameplay footage one time which showed a planet that had a mountain extending over the atmosphere. This game I think will be good. :)
+Space Forge but i'm kinda confused. In other gameplay videos when he goes to the galactic map it clearly shows this system should only have two planets. Balari V has a moon called Yavil from what I can make out (not sure though) and the other planet is louil. the other 'planets' in this clip are just moons if that's correct
+Space Forge they're just showing us the least amount of stuff they can, so that when we get to play the game its actually enjoyable because you will see completely different things. and what fun would a game be if you saw most of what there is to offer? just my opinion.
Comment Quoted from the original tour of 5 worlds " Oh look a tour of 5 planets time to get some beer and enjoy. *looks for beer opener* tour over.... "
+BadIrishGamer (B.I.G) The game was never intended to be multiplayer nor was it built on that purpose. Sean has said numerous times that game isn't multiplayer and that we shouldn't go in looking for that experience. Maybe he did lie when saying we can see each other, but the players that tried to see each other and failed, could have been down to many other technical reasons. If you're missing the point of the game (isolation and exploration). Then don't criticize it for that.
"The game was never intended to be multiplayer" is flat out wrong, the game was fully intended to be multiplayer to reproduce that "living, breathing universe" feeling. The fact that Sean tried to cover this up near launch does not mean it was "never intended". MAYBE he did lie what the hell man, how can you defend this sort of conduct it's insane.
1:11 A T-rex with long arms, we're doomed!
Ahhhhh!
+Mikeztarp Oh God no
Nah, he's just waving at us!
HE'S DONE IT, KILLED OR HOPE IN WINNING A FIGHT WITH A T-REX!!!!!!!! HE'S THE CHOSEN ONE!!!!!!
+Mikeztarp oh no... THE RETURN OF THE DINOSAURS HAS BEGUN lol it took me a while to find it.
What do we want?! 30 minute gameplay! What do we get?! 2 minute planet exploration....
still. better than the last video 😂
+cutters butter Yeah at least we got to see some new planets.
+SirThawkz planets none of us will see lol..
Just showing off the ecologies I guess
+VGRD we already got multiple 30 min videos I think you just want to play the game.
Planet Exploration is the gameplay...
NO one will ever land on these planets,.. ever.
+eleven38 theres a tiny chance
+eleven38 EVERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
most likely the whole database will be wiped before release. so none of these planets would exist.
+eleven38
I bet I'll start on Balari V....
+Theamc Dead yeah, there is a 1 in 18,446,744,073,709,551,616 chance we will find these planets shown in this video. got the number of planets from the back of a playstation mag. not sure if its the exact amount tbh.
louil:- North Africa
Yavil:- Germany
Yzheleuz:- Saudi Arabia
Phlek:- China
Balari V:- Canada
accurate af
Balari V:- Russia
Hey , from yzheleuz
Lol
I know why Phlek is China cause there is a smog
the cool thing is that no one watching this video will see these planets. there are over 18 quintillion planets, everyone will have a different experience. that's pretty amazing.
exactly
actually over 8 quadrillion xD
+MightyManotaur22 billion? thats actually a small number
+RamenFox12 actually it over 18 quintillion lol
you can go to each planet for a sec and it well take over a billion years to see them all, now that's amazing

+KingFluffs yeah but what where they doing exactly?
thelittlegreenliar Begging for fried shrimp.
That is correct
"Oh they're showing 5 beautiful planets."*shows Balari V*"again!?!?!? dafuq"
+Mackubex Balari V is the center of the universe.
+Playful Fruit auahsheuehe
+Mackubex They dont want to spoild too much.
Something doesn't need to be new to be beautiful
+Playful Fruit where did you hear that?
I'm trying not to build hype for this game
To late for me save yourself
+Jameel Bassier but it's just so hard...

+Jameel Bassier Same
+Jameel Bassier Im weak boys. I preordered both versions. Im lost. Save yourselves.
OMG those big blob walking fish looking things are AWESOME!
+Jennifer Ryan I can't wait to shoot one and see what's inside.
+popi2971 Nice...
+NMSLetsPlay I don't wanna wait!!
the center of the galaxy will be a huge planet with cities covering it entirely, and it will be one of the best places to actually meet other players because everyone's aim is to reach it.
+YaGottaBeFresh I dunno forreals but I like to dream
+Adrian Penchev I think in the cener of the galaxy there will be a worm hole to more galaxy's.
+Adrian Penchev Coruscant?
+exodore2000 that would be a downer tbh
+Adrian Penchev it's not even possible to go there appernelty
1:50 I see what you did there
+idniilzo I don't...
+idniilzo LOL
+idniilzo what did he do?
+Chris Roger Mate
I'm kinda glad we're not getting hugely extensive parts of gameplay for NMS just yet. What I've seen here with the desert and radioactive planets is enough to convince me there's a crazy amount of variation in environment, without revealing too much pre-release.
"new planets" gimme a break. balari v is the same ice planet we've seen in at least 3 ign vids now.
+Flowey They did show a few new features though!!
tru.
+Flowey howdy! this balari v is from the "press demo" and if you ever land in some planet like this one you can simply fly away lol
+Flowey no where in the title does it say new
+Brendan Forish I guess you don't read the description then... It did say new there.
I want more underwater gameplay!
+Logan Meador This needs way more upvotes.
This has me excited. These creatures and worlds are truly fascinating. And do you know what? Even if this game falls short of its vision, the fact that they tried to make a game like this, is still worth something, and means everything.
TWOOOO MINUTES!!!?????
IKR?
Andrew Qiu what?
I can't wait for this game, I don't care what anyone says I know a good game when I see one. and I am going to play the s*** out of this game.
Amen
amen!
Amen
Amen brother!
REST IN PISS 😬
I guess that's the only time I will see those planets
+Ipie Sweg trust me, you will see a lot more of balari v
A tour of 5 beautiful planets IN TWO BLOODY MINUTES
You gotta admit it was satisfying :)
+ET Go Home it was XD even a little Heroin is good to a starving addict XD
+ET Go Home was it really... was it really satisfying? I want more!!!! more!! more!! why are you doing this to me IGN
I feel like Yavil was the most gorgeous looking planet and I’ve never found anything like it.
Facts
Where are these sand planets now...
+Lord Woffingshire don't forget about the wingmen you are supposed to be able to fly around with or the flying low to the planet the through canyons.
I ate em.
Finally they arrived (quite late)
Roberto Nome what do you mean
krypton kr Check new update (sand planets are not in the changelog, but u can find them now in game).
i'm so hyped for this
We need to start a protest, if you wanna see 30 min to an hour of gameplay like this comment and let's hope they see what we want!
It was a fair 751 degrees outside today on Yzheleuz...
Good luck finding a pool to cool off in that hasn't vaporized
751 Celsius? Pff that's normal in the Caribbean. .-.
Your ship weapon and suit would melt too
+Jovalin Yeah a pool of WATER will vaporize. Who knows, some element out there could turn to liquid around 700 degrees Celsius. The aliens would probably cool off in that :)
These IGN firsts have been getting me so exited for this game! Especially since I've been hyped on this game since 2014
Toxic rain, some shine blue and others feel the pain, toxic rain.
Two new planets. Ok good to see some extreme heat and toxic rain for the first time. Will make you appreciate finding such planets as Yavil
I really want to play this game stoned
exactly
I've tried it before and trust me when i say this...its a buzzkill man :/
This is soooooo awesome . . . Closest thing I'll get to traveling in outer space and not bound by our own solar system is going to be incredible...
It's nice to see some variety in things, and if I'm not mistaken this is the first time we've seen a hot and toxic planet! Can't wait for this game!!!!
We've seen desert planets but never toxic.
I know i'll never find it, but Louil is meh fave
Hopefully they will go more in depth about each of these planets like they did with Belari 5.
it only makes sense to have at least a hand full of planets with growing civilisation in it. not all the wilderness and ruins
No.
+Johnathan Chavez yes
+zalws Well thats a bit out of reach with the technology we have at the moment. How it is explained though is that we are on the frontier basically.
+zalws a handful of planets is diminishingly small tho', you'd almost certainly never find them :P
+MikeymajQ well at least it's realistic? :p
Would be nice if we could make our own space empires and trade/go to war. Kinda like Spore. If this game had cell, creature, tribal, civilization and space colonization modes, this could be the greatest soul successor in gaming history imo. VR is a must too.

Please IGN make longer videos.
+xXx_Bilbo_$waggins_xXx We have made 8 minute videos breaking all these videos down!
+Orbit TV Reported for spam
i dont know man, i really dont know......
it looks amazing and the promises they made are craaaazy, i wont believe anything until i've seen it on my own tv screen
He speaks as if any of us will find it
My thoughts exactly
This video made me happy, this is what I have wanted from preview's a look at some of the planets and what they will spawn. More of this please
11:08 was pretty cool......oh wait ign does 2 min videos on this game instead of 20 min....
boi then recently posted a twenty minute video. actually two I think
+Shawnawesomeer *they
They made a 21 minute video 3 or so days ago...
Shawnawesomeer The thing is it shows the same exact stuff they was showcased in the last couple of videos they did. Yes they finally showed an Alien and some of the language system, but that's not enough to get me invested in the game.
+Alexander Heath they actually showed lots of new stuff
Space marine drop pod? 0:45 This game just got better! :D
Oh, so that's where those blobs I keep seeing on the NMS subreddit are from. I feel dumb now.
The more I see, the more I NEED IT
When you finally reach the center of the universe, you'll find Balari V.
+Chad Daddy xD
Just wow. The creatures, the places... it's all so mind blowing
I think the big thing that i took away from this video is that these planets need to come with a pronunciation guide for their names.
+Jeff Mcfarlane Thats the default names, you get the name the ones you discover.
+Joey Wild I meant 'really special names *that sound alien', 'not than sound alien'
I like how this gameplay preview looked like a vacation ad with the commentary
I WANNA DIG TO THE CENTER OF THE PLANET
+peruface TELL ME WHAT YOU FIND!
My money is on rocks
How does this game generate so much unique planets and names of them including plants and animals

Now THIS is what we want to see. Thank you IGN!
+Dward O Exactly!
hey ign just wanna say nice shirt
+Mister Good same
I've been waiting my whole life for this video game. BEST GAME EVER!!!!!!!
0:59 looks like the planet from Rick and Morty that Rick goes to in the last episode of season two
+Diamond Miner Animaniac The game is a Rick and Morty simulator.
George Hofmann true
***** but then that means... not only are there an infinite number of dimensions, but also an infinite number of universes each with its own infinite number of dimensions.
***** That also means that in one dimension our universe is inside someones car battery
This game is just too beautiful. My hype-scale is over 9000 !!!!!!!! *-*
everything looks beautiful in this game except for ground textures
God... Those leaf things on Yzheleuz give me chills.
I'm gonna end up in the toxic rain am I ?
+Kluivert Bonello Or the volcano planet :D
+Kluivert Bonello some stay dry and others feel the pain....
And no resources :D
this brings a smile to my face cant wait for no mans sky
"All planets will look the same."
+ET Go Home I know, right. All those planets looked exactly the same except for all the differences.
+ET Go Home Et... go home

Not done exploring.
ET... go home before we make planet earth great again
+shaggy214 its hard to see past their spherical nature!
yes!!! they alll look beautiful!! and there all so different from each other!!
Need.. No Man's Sky... 2 month's... so far away.
Yes that's exactly what we need IGN shorter and shorter vids of No Man's Sky..!! Thank you..!!!
why not just make five, 20 minute videos of each planet.....and a nice long space exploration video would be nice...
Yes exactly
+Adam Courtney yeah but I don't think they wanna spoil too much that's the thing
can you really spoil a game thats virtually infinite?
However i get the fact that there needs to be balance, and you don't want to over hype the game.
Tbh i just want the game now....
yeah, a guy can dream though!
1:40 Amazing! The random creature generation doesn't necessarily give all animals arms and legs! I thought it would get a little boring always seeing animals that have limbs, but we might actually see creatures that bounce or crawl around without arms and legs :D
I expect a few will have tentacles, too.
On land?? :O
Observer004053 Probably. It seems like a common enough alien trope that it would have been included.
Ohohoho......can't wait to find those creatures....I'll have to bring a...sacrifice with me :3
You got played
Phlex ie the CS:GO community
The blob things were hilarious! beautiful worlds!
so wait a second...what are the chances of anyone finding these exact planets? peobably non. I just hope that this is not the only type of planets we see.

@1:23 "Toxic raaaaain" **i move away from the mic to breathe in
Its kind of erie knowing you'll NEVER see these planets...
I LOVE NO MAN'S SKY VIDEOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wonder if there's a planet thats flammable. >:D
Hopefully. >: )

I absolutely love Phlek's blob monsters.
I sure hope there are lava planets.
Definitely
+Cinders Games
There are.
+Cinders Games there are no lava planets *he says as he melts into the lava pool and dies*
+Cinders Games From my point of view you have the lava ground !
& Lightsabers. I mean Lightswords. Maybe an axe.
That music in the galaxy view ♥
0:44 literally stolen from warhammer 40K, the resemblance to a drop pod is staggering
+dave epsin Ikr?
+dave epsin lmao this kid replied to himself
+Hunter Barnes what a loser lol
+dave epsin Not necessarily stolen, could have just been a nod to the franchise.
I see what you did there
would be cool if you could tame those creatures and level them
ign review - 4.2/10 .... too many planets
+yajat uppal 2.1/10 - bored after 10 planets
Awesome game. Can't wait for this, not long now though. Congrats hello games, and thanks for the new video IGN.
Add VR support if you want my money

+Antiant IM no
+Antiant IM source?
nvm it's most likely to get VR support
+Ghost
They said that they definitely want to, but since they are a very small team, they can't guarantee that it will happen.
It would be the worst luck to have if out of all the stars in the galaxy and planets in this game where they said 99% may never even be touched, and you start off on the
one with acid rain on land surrounded by an acid lake.
Oh who gives a Phlek? ;)
I loved this video, BUT CAN WE PLEASE GET BACK TO THE 30-9999999999 MINUTE PLAY THROUGH WE'VE COME TO LOVE THE MOST
Did anyone hear "Aww Yeah" from the animal at 1:37 ?
lol i just said the same thing I heard it aswell :O
Lol I heard it to
i hope there is more verticality. all the planets or now seem like endless flat terrains. need to see some cliffs and waterfalls.
they are still in the same system lol, blairi v we are sick of you.
+Space Forge Ikr xD I fricken hate that planet right now
+Space Forge The 'how to survive' video they did put me off it forever, I'm blowing up Balari V if I ever find it...
+Space Forge they're just showing us the least amount of stuff they can, so that when we get to play the game its actually enjoyable because you will see completely different things. and what
fun would a game be if you saw most of what
there is to offer?
just my opinion.
Tim Senna Yeah seriously. If there was proper multiplayer I'd likely gather a bunch of friends just to start a massive war against the sentinels.
This video fueled my hype. I am SO READY for this game.
+ShyPoke 61 days....61 days....
To much foreplay with this game.
+John BDD Gotta play with the foreskin before getting to action ;)
Not the first to notice but I am thrilled by what's lurking in the gloom at 1:09
+Tim Senna (timontheradio) Almost looks like a big t rex :D
Chelsea Roberts With articulated arms :O
Tim Senna omg yes I love how he wiggled his little arm :D
What game is this? It definitely isn't no man's sky
It is now
_Definitely_ is now, NEXT literally looks so much better than this
Comment Quoted from the original tour of 5 worlds " Oh look a tour of 5 planets time to get some beer and enjoy.
*looks for beer opener*
tour over.... "
The desert planet isnt even in the game more lies..
You haven't seen it yet =/= it's not in the game.
Sure thats why. I bet that we just didnt discover multi player yet too right?.
Actually they are it seems steamcommunity.com/app/275850/discussions/0/360672383117040123/
I NEED THIS GAME. AAAH
