I remember when the Olympics considered entering men in women's sports was called cheating and got severe penalties for that nation which tried it.

Now the damages the criminal were deemed to pay the victim were not allowed to be withdrawn from this amount, and the person were not extradited because of a risk of the person having to do military training in his home country. Instead he just took the money and claimed that he had spent it all.

In cases of DSD or intersex, there are chromosomal abnormalities and need to be identified as male or female, depending on the potential for a certain male or female reproduction system (ova or testes). So it’s not as cut and dry as chromosomes, unfortunately. There are people with XXY chromosomes, for example, who are males with klienfelters syndrome.

Welcome to Finland. We have had actual legislation for well over a year at this point that allows a person to change their official sex from man to woman and woman to man without any need for altering your anatomy or hormones.

Hello, dear friend, I want to tell you something about Lin Yu Ting, I was her classmate in the middle high school.
I'm glad to see my classmate here, but it's a pity to see her with such wrong rumors. I feel very heart breaking.
First all, I can proof, she is a female, 100%, and she has been a female since birth. We even when to the female toilet together when we were in the school (before she started to been a boxer).
If she and her family had Lin Yuting's gender reassignment when she was a little kid for cheat the female gold medal, then I'm convinced the rumors.
I remember Yu Ting was a cute and gentle girl, no doubt.
So let us see, how did this ridiculous rumor spread to what it is today?
The organization that smeared her which was IBA who is a Russian-funded and Chinese-funded boxing organization. In order to suppress Taiwan and democracy.
In these year, they used a lot of different languages to make fake news to trick people for their goals, sadly a lot of people believe it.
French boxer contestant Emilie Sonvico has mentioned that the IBA is definitely an unprofessional organization. She was suddenly asked to take off her pants without being informed in advance. She believed that this was not a test at all, but a humiliation of women. As for chromosome testing, she mentioned that there is no such test, at least didn't happen for her.
The IBA was disqualified from organizing the Olympics in 2019 due to multiple corruption and fraud incidents. Therefore, this incident is also the IBA's revenge on the Olympics in a way.
This time, the IBA spread the rumor that Lin Yu Ting was a male with the "report" even didn't exist, for creating Olympic chaos. They fabricated the report that Lin Yuting had XY chromosomes and many untrue experimental terms to deceive people who do not know much about medicine, but they have never made public the reports and results they claimed, they have always just "claimed" with a lot of "news".
A few days ago, a lot of official reporters from all over the world came to IBA for a press conference and asked them to explain their report claiming that Lin Yuting was a male. They were unable to submit it and kept emphasizing that "Taiwan belongs to China, Taiwan belongs to China" which is very funny. You can search for related official videos.
And sadly J. K. Rowling she didn't check the fact of the fake news, just try to show her unproven political correctness on twitter, posted a wrong post, she has great influence doesn't matter in wrong way or correct way, and unfortunately most media and UA-camrs just want traffic and don’t care about the truth, so then you see the situation has become as worse as today.
Anyway, Yu Ting is completely 100% a female. Many her middle schools Classmates, teachers, relatives, doctors, and friends have all verify that she is a woman since she birth, has menstruation and a female birth certificate. Videos and photos of her childhood have been exposed. She was a gentle little girl. (If it is said that she changed gender in order to deceive the Olympic gold medal, so she has been transgender since she was a baby, then I will accept it)
She has great strength because she practices for more than 8 hours every day for more than 10 years,
And her desire to protect her mother because her father always abused her mother when she was a kid, she has good skills and strength not because she is a man or a transgender, that's because of her strong faith and consistent training.

Imagine this, if during the Olympics, Lin Yuting wastes her precious training time because of false lies and keeps her busy applying for reports to prove an obvious lie and then loses the competition, then she has hit the trap of IBA. She never produced an extra gender report when she entered the Olympics competition because she was busy competing and had no time to go to a hospital to get a cumbersome tested to disproof this ridiculous rumor. Most hospital tests appointments take a lot of days, weeks or months.
And just imagine, if you have been a woman in your whole life, how did you know that to participate in the competition, you have to double prove that you are a woman?
You must think that a general physical examination report and a passport are enough? No other contestant has such a thing as extra gender proof, not just her. All contestants will be judged as girls based on their country-issued passports and physical examination reports. So when people said she didn't show a proof for proof she is a real woman, that is so ridiculous and female humiliation.
Even the Olympic Organizing Association also helped her prove that she is 100% a woman on an official press conference.
But people didn’t believe it. What exactly you want?
Imagine today you are 100% a woman, if an organization does not want you to win, so it spreads rumors that you are a male. How do you prove that you are a woman?
When you are busy participating in the competition, I believe you must need to spend immeasurable energy and time, right? So you can only silently Can you tolerate the bullying of rumors and quietly hold it until the end of the competition, so now you can have some empathy for her?

I don’t blame people who believe the rumors. I think most people are kind-hearted. I can understand that most people want justice and fairness. 1. The gender test held by IBA ( international boxing Association) was not about chromosome test. She was confirmed with Testosterone anomaly but NOT with XY chromosome.
2. Taiwan is wayyyyyy less woke than America. We still view gender with binary form and primary consider biological facts first.
In Taiwan citizen’s ID number, the second digital shows your biological sex (1 is male and 2 is female) . The number was given soon after birth from the government with a birth certificate given by the hospital. Taiwan is NOT woke that hospital “assigns” a child’s gender. It is common sense that they just look at a child’s organ (penis/vagina)
3. Her name Lin Yu-Ting (林郁婷）. The word Ting (婷） has a female radical character “女”. We can tell the person’s gender by the name in characters (same like Mary/John…)
I want to say I am completely against gender ideology too and view biological sex as legitimate first. We can argue about the testosterone level in female body for sport qualification but I can guarantee Lin is a biological female.
In fact, I am really glad that when Taiwanese are discussing this issue and voicing for Lin, we can easily distinguish between transgender and non-transgender. I feel like quite a few commenters don't understand the situation. Imane was born with female body parts and male chromosomes. Therefore he's not trans, he's intersex, but predominantly male, as this is determined by chromosomes. This means he's still not fit to compete against someone with XX chromosomes.

One would hope, but I think that can be changed. In canada, you can assume a name (add a new name without removing your past records of your birth name - many married people do this) or change your name - which changes your birth certificate (ex. Erasing your maiden name).

From my POV. It was probably overlooked by Algeria. The country where the person was born and grew up.
Rubber stamped her as a female at birth and no one questioned otherwise. Until the last couple of years because being a competitive athlete , testing undercovered something (perhaps a form of DSD like some are saying)
Problem is that it's such a grey area in most sports. Hopefully it triggers some updating to the rules and regulations so there is some standardize benchmark to follow.
Where it gets muddy though is where do you draw the line? Should all athletes take a gender test? Or just the ones that standout due to abnormal performances? Did The William sisters ever take a test ? I am not implying they're intersex but they do seem to have a genetic advantage over others in the sport.

@Fatalz81 my point is that in those countries it may have also been easy. I don't know each country's law. I assume it's easy in the USA. It would seem that Imane Khelif recently discovered he is a male with what is basically a developmental disorder of his physiology (its hard to say if it is even an "intersex condition," since he is clearly male with male chromosomes and testosterone - I believe "intersex" usually refers to chromosomal disorders of X and Y chromosomes but I'm not sure), and had a female birth certificate and passport, however, knowing he is man (he found out before this match), he should not have competed against Carini. I would have had deep sympathy for him had he . . . manned up and forfeited the match and Olympics. Instead, Carini was forced to apologize, which is extremely unfair, as she got beaten up (punched in the face) and this is recorded on TV for all to see :(

The IBA published that stuff about being intersex without any proper citing or scientific backing. The main argument for this being unfair is that she may have failed that test even though she has female organs, was assigned female at birth, has female on her passport and lives in a country where it's illegal to be trans. Even if she was intersex and has xy chromosomes, people with this condition have given birth and I'm pretty sure men don't give birth. So much misinformation going around SMH.

I don't want men competing against women, I support people's rights to have cosmetic surgery if they want but it doesn't actually change your gender, you are what you are. And in this case, IK is a biological woman, she has the female body parts and has the right to compete in the female category in her weight class. Now I don't watch the Olympics or boxing and I don't know all the rules but I do believe they are split up by weight and gender and as they should be, a 150kg woman would stomp a 50kg woman. But this is different, she has the parts, is the weight and is a woman, she should be allowed to compete. If were going to hyper fixate on "oh no injuries are bad" we should outright ban the dangerous sports, injuries happen between female athletes as well, particularly in fighting sports, gods forbid something like american football. I'm very much of the opinion "don't overthink it and don't focus too much on every little detail" that's how you lose the big picture. Its the same way people water down words and make them meaningless. Remember when trigger warnings actually held some weight? When PTSD was called shellshock? We do this a lot but at some point we have to stop or let some things go. For me this is one of those times. I'm hard against trans competing against biological genders but I support intersex people competing in their assigned gender like IK who was deemed woman at birth.

Lin Yu ting was born as a female. She also got a XX test before the competition. Nobody knows what exactly IBA was testing and they didn't release the method in public.
Also many evidence have shown Lin Yu ting is a real woman and not even a intersex or trans gender person, you cannot define a male or female just on their appearance, but you rather trust a IBA blackbox XY test?

Taiwanese here, lin is not Transgender!!!! She high testosterone levels and XY chromosome, but she's just born with it. I do think it needs to be discussed about whether or not they could attend the event, but although Taiwan is a left-leaning country, we're not the kind to send males in females sport.

I actually agree with this. Intersex is something that is still very under the radar in many places, even in sports. As someone who is POSSIBLY intersex themselves, born and looked the way I was supposed to as I grew up, etc. But physical, hormonally and other things were all out of whack. I have a lot of physical problems and such that keep getting worse that I need to see a doctor, It can seriously change how someone performs if they have some of these conditions.
The boxing association is setting standards for fairness in the sport- the IOC is basically imposing their politics ahead of minimum expected standards for fairness.
