- Hi everyone! Thanks so much for joining! If you're anything like me, then you're constantly looking for ways to combine hobbies and fit more of them into your day - that's why I love to read and knit at the same time, and enjoy both hobbies at once. Over the last year or two, I've been working on and testing my favourite set ups for doing this, and as many of you have seen and asked for more information, I thought I'd make a video to show you all my favourite hacks!

Now I just need you to teach me how to be able to knit without looking at my work 😅 maybe someday! Love your channel!❤
I don’t think I can knit and read at the same time, but these are great ideas! Thank you for sharing 🥰
I stopped reading my kindle and knitting at the same time so that I could watch your video and knit at the same time - enjoyed every moment :)
The cookbook stand is great, but I want it for when I'm cooking. Now all I need to work out is how to knit when I'm cooking...... Great video, thank you ❤
Foot clicking is brilliant!! I need a remote clicker
using the remote as a foot pedal is so clever!! i fear i have been influenced 🙃
I'm listening to Quicksilver while knitting my jumper 😊 Thanks for the tips! I didn't know Libby was available in the UK and have just downloaded it.
Thank you for this video. I have a ikea book stand for my kobo. I am reading from blood and ash and try to read and knit at the same time. I never tryed that before😅
Very useful tips, thank a lot 🤍
My unhinged knitting and reading set up is using my phone as a paper weight to hold the book open whilst I read 😂 It’s not very efficient, so I may need to check out a cook book stand!
This is exactly why the paper books I borrow from the library get read very slowly! I haven't yet mastered (or even tried) the art of reading while crafting. Knitting would probably be the best candidate craft for trying.. and embroidery the worst:'D Well, at least I have audiobooks and UA-cam:)
I knit and listen to audio books all the time. Just recently got a page turner for my kindle. This is brilliant. Will be trying it with my foot soon 😊
I have a ring that works like the clicker. So I can be knitting I don’t have to touch the kindle or pick up the clicker. I just tap on my finger. Works great. For physical books I have something called the book seat. It’s like a pillow on your lap that holds the book in place. I do have to stop to turn the pages and stuff, but it also works pretty good. For audio I usually listen driving. Or I put on earphones and Listen away. You had some great ideas. I am reading The Fifth Season by N.K Jemisin, When Women were Dragons by Kelly Barnhill and Mindfullness and the Art of drawing by Wendy Greenhalgh . I too have a pile of physical books to get through. Great podcast. ❤
@@katespin99 oh wow! I didn’t know about the ring!!! Maybe I need an update! My partner just finished the fifth season trilogy and he keeps telling me to read it!
i normally would be knitting and watching your video but my cat is using me as cat bed so i’m reading and listening to your video 😊
Love this!
I love this! I have a floor stand tablet holder, but I like the versatility you have with your cushion one, definitely adding it to my wish list.
That’s what I do too! Page turner on the floor! Before I got a newer kindle (my old one was not compatible with turners being 12 years old) I bought a music page turner.
For reading physical books I would use binder or chip clips to hold the pages propped on a pillow. I love a good floppy paperback.
@@thetoastyhen ah I’m so glad I’m not the only one! 🤣 my family always laugh!
i love Libby! i get most of my books through the library and its so helpful and economic! :) thanks for sharing all of your tips! i largely read audiobooks as i’m dyslexic but i love digital books like manga and graphic novels!
My algorithm knows me so well 😂
I'd love to be able to read and knit but I'm having to listen to audio books I'd rather read myself but I can't seem to look away from my knitting yet I'm hoping I'll get better at knitting without looking do u have any tips or tricks that would help with that 😂
You say unhinged but I say genius. I'm currently reading The Flame of the North (Lilith Saintcrow), my ebook is Poison Study (Maria V Snyder) & my audiobook is Cybele's Secret (Juliet Marillier). I've not been able to move past st st, I'll have to give ribbing a try next.
I have tried this, but alas i cannot do fiber arts and read at once, so audio books and and tv, and also gaming because i play a lot of games with long cut scenes haha 😅
Audiobooks (Libby) while walking and knitting (only above 40F….colder damages my fingers)
@@ldaly817 oh I do love to walk and knit at the same time! It’s so peaceful!!
