Buy what makes your heart sing, " what a wonderful words , from now on this my guidance Thank you Fleur for all the 8 years of beauty and joy you put into my life ❤️❤️❤️
I really admire and appreciate the effort you put into being more sustainable and switching your content! At some point last year or two I got so fed up with the sea of meaningless hauls all over UA-cam and started to unsubscribe channels, but you successfully transitioned your content into something that I still enjoy watching and take inspiration from ! Thanks Fleur 😉
you look absolutely gorgeous Fleur! Thanks for sharing this new interesting journey with us. I'm loving this new sustainable approach to your content! Looking forward to all your future vids xx
I stop watching for the same reason. I known that I don't need all that expensive stuff but I kinda feel bad about myself after Fleur videos. I don't have money for all that fancy stuff. It was too much for me. Everyone says that you need stop following people whom makes you feel bad, so I stopped. After 2 years her channel popped out on my youtube.
I bought my first thing of clothing this year. Lovely pair of jeans, immaculate condition, £1.00 from a charity shop. I wasn't looking to buy as I decided to really cut down on all shopping as that is the only way to become sustainable. Buying much less, and using it for much, much longer. But that is my approach, we all do it in our own way.
I’ve been unfollowing a lot of influencer channels lately because I just don’t relate anymore. But I feel like you’ve allowed the content of this channel to mature and grow with you and your audience and I love it!!
My new year's resolution for 2020 was to only buy second hand clothes (with the exception of undergarments) and shoes. So far, I have found so many unique and lovely finds in perfect condition and I'm stoked to save money and give them extra life. I think this will be one resolution I keep all year long!
Going through and rewatching some of your videos for a little normalcy right now. Love the new content this past year for sustainability and increased consciousness!
Great video Fleur! Loving your hair in this! OMG the boots!!! I remember when you talked about them in your Christmas gift guide way back! so glad that you made that splurge now especially after ahving imitations of thems for so long!
I love this video and that you are promoting sustainability! Your hair looks beautiful :) On a side note I need to have a non-fleur-related rant (sorry this is on your video). Is anyone else sick of being told that I need to 'invest' in pieces that are always so expensive?! Like... I don't make a lot of money (I chose a career path that wasn't money focused so that is my choice, I understand) but I am a firm believer that your clothes can last as long as you want as long as you take care of them - and that includes cheaper options. I have had a blazer from M&S (I know, i'm so cool) that has lasted me for 8 years. It has taken me through interviews and nights out and drinks and I have always taken good care of it. I think maybe I had to sew a button back on once? haha, but that blazer cost me £40 and wasn't Balmain or anything that would be deemed as an 'investment' blazer. Sustainable and investment are buzzwords all over the internet but they don't have to mean expensive.
Sometimes you can find good things, yes. But on a whole, cheaper things are produced in a way that they aren't meant to last. They're literally sown in ways where they don't suit people's bodies except the absolute norm (which is like 2% of the population). There's a designer that did a video on this last year or the year before. Cheap brands create pieces made to be replaced because they either break apart in ways that are hard to fix or lose their fit so much people don't feel comfortable in them. That's a big part of how fast fashion thrives. It costs little so when it breaks or looses it shape, which it most likely will... you CAN buy something to replace it because it's not expensive. Some things are also... too cheap for me to feel comfortable with. Materials have a cost, labor has a cost, shipping, rent, expenses etc... THAT is the main reason we should invest in better clothing (and also demand transparency). Also, and with all due respect because I so agree with your bottom line, there is a stop between M&S and Balmain. It doesn't have to be either or. The main points about sustainability is to buy LESS, to buy BETTER and to buy MINDFULLY. And what investment means within that thought process is up to each person and what kind of financial situation they're in. I live on a tight budget and have to save up for the few things I buy a year. I don't buy "designer" at all. It's just not... fast fashion if I can help it. I look at the materials and hopefully can find a company with a good ethos, and I'll make it a goal to save up and buy from there. That is still investment because to me that's taking a large percentage of my money, and putting it into something that will last me longer than the alternative did or would. What investment means really does differ depending on your situation. For some people, H&M would be an investment if their alternative is being given clothes for free because they can't afford it. For others, it's Balmain because their alternative is Zara. The important thing is that we start thinking when we buy. That we have some patience. That we don't shop twice (once when purchasing the items and then a second time when we forget what we've got because it didn't have much thought attached to it.) Hope my feelings made sense :) I agree with your bottom line, truly, but I also don't feel it's that black or white.
I agree. If you're knowledgeable about fabrics and stitching and pay attention to the tags on clothes, you can get good quality fabrics at quite affordable prices.
''Investment'' is subjective. A 20$ thrifted item can be an investment for someone on a very low budget. Now ''sustainable'' is definitely less subjective. Buying into fast fashion is not, cannot be sustainable when you consider the whole production chain that led to it. I'm a student so I cannot ''invest'' in designer gear. I can however avoid fast fashion by shopping almost exclusively from thrift stores.
theroomstops yes I agree with you. This was a very well explained and articulated argument. I think that what it comes down to is doing your research. I just meant that equally, buying expensive pieces doesn’t mean that they will last much longer just because you paid more. You could perhaps say there is a correlation there, but on the whole, it’s about researching what you buy. You don’t need to purchase designed brands in order to be someone that has “invested” and I very much feel that this is what social media is teaching people.
so happy to know farfetch exists!! this is one of my favorite videos from you. totally dig the direction you've taken. love your style and sense of fashion...it definitely inspires me!
Fleur please do a video on how you style your hair and exactly what tools to use to get those nice loose curls! You look gorgeous 💕💕 also, I have the original Falabella and I love that bag so much!!!
I’ve loved your channel for the past 8 years, but I think this is the best haul you’ve ever made! Loved every single piece. So happy you finally got the Givenchy boots! Keep up the great work!!
The jumper and the green dress are gorgeous! Omg miss your hauls. Your style is right up my alley. Happy to see you’re being more sustainable with your purchases too. Amazing video Fleur!
How cool to see you talking about thinking more sustainably Fleur, myself these past months I have been trying to make better decisions regarding what I buy or don't buy.
I was influenced by you for the ASOS version of the Givenchy boots. 3 years later, I still wear them and take care of them and they are in great condition. Comes to say, we can do the sustainable thing with less pricey items as well. Also, thank you for that recommendation, these still are my favorite shoes I have ever owned 🤍
Hi Fleur, wow I love everything you have in this haul. The green dress is just gorgeous, I would wear that for every holiday and summer, it looks beautiful on you, as do all the other things. The Stella McCartney bag is different from what I’ve seen in the past, and it’s lovely, but the boots, omgosh they are absolutely stunning, I remember you wearing boots like these so often, I’m happy you now have the genuine boots that will last year after year. A great haul video, thanks for sharing xxx
Such beautiful pieces in this haul and really appreciate your change in attitude to shopping for considerably and sustainably. You look so lovely in everything especially that gorgeous rixo dress🤗xx
Yay you got the boots finally! I absolutely adore everything you purchased. Nice classic styles. You have really made me think before I purchase fast fashion now, thank you Fleur!
I've only watched for a minute but I *REALLY* appreciate that you have made this change. I have loved your channel and since we are the same age ;) I have spent my 20's watching you're content and taking advice you offer on products ; loving the little me time that I get from watching your videos. I appreciate that you have made changes as a person of influence to influence in a positive/sustainable means. I have been changing out my wardrobe in the same way this year and want to offer up a really great business for you to look at. The company is called NotPerfectLinen and is based on Etsy but honestly their clothing and the materials are really timeless linen staples. Check them out here: www.etsy.com/shop/notPERFECTLINEN?ref=pr2018_faveshops and again, thank you for making these efforts in your own life and as an online presence.
I knew you were going to present those boots, it's good though to buy a copy version and see how much you wear them first. They look great on you, very you! And love the green dress too! x 😊
Props to me (I guessed right!) I love Farfetch so much. If something you desperately want has sold out everywhere, you can pretty much always rely on Farfetch to have it in stock. Brilliant website.
Hey Fleur! Really pretty purchases! Excited to hear that you are in my country, hope that you had a wonderful experience and tell us more about your time here 🇿🇦
😂😂 the heavy breathing when holding the boots haha 😍 they are amazing! i’d personally rather spend more on accessories you can wear a lot more than clothes and mix and match with more. The boots and the bag are stunning :) as are the rest of the haul!
Congratulations on the boots!!! I've been buying imitations as well and they are so gorgeous. Also I love that farfetch was cool with you including another brand outside them in here. Made me like them more
You look lovely in everything, but WOW the green short dress is fabulous on you, so pretty & flattering, also hair goals in this vid, feel better soon 💚💋👌🧡
I love that green dress but at over £200 its way out of what most people can afford. I want to be more sustainable but at those costs its just not viable.x
Lois Luisa totally, but have a look on eBay for similar styles, there are so many amazing things on there like & other stories, anine bing, rixo. If there’s something I’m looking for I save a search on there and it might take a couple of months, but I usually find what I’m looking for. Buying second hand is v. sustainable and way cheaper x
Hi Fleur could you please explain to us how these pieces of clothing/brands are sustainable? Just because a website puts them under a section called "sustainable" doesn't justify the sustainable tag. All I see is new fabric and clothing, fast fashion and international shipping. I can't see how any of this is "sustainable". This is not a criticism of you but this so called "progressive movement", just like "clean beauty". Yes we do need to be making more concious choices in regards to the clothing we buy or not buy, but I feel like brands are calling themselves sustainable or say they use recycled plastic but are they really?.... 😕
I loved this, the pieces are all so beautiful and even if I've always loved your hauls I enjoy seeing you focus on sustainability so much😊 but the star of this video is your hair, I couldn't stop looking at it because it's sooo beautiful and shiney and healthy 😘😊
Love this!! I am doing a no fast fashion year and so happy with my decision 😊 I have just made a spring 2020 trends video using only old clothes from my closet to prove that we don’t have to buy into the trends. Quality over quantity ❤️ happy to see bigger influencers support this! Andra x
✨Thank you for the discount code ❤️ I love shopping on Farfetch! I found the Stella McCartney vegan leather trousers on sale there a few months back and they are such a staple in my wardrobe 🙌🏼✨ Glad you are feeling better 🌟
Loving this new direction yourself and the channel has taken! We all need to be a bit more conscious of our carbon footprint and impact on the environment. Lovely video. x
I really want to believe those boots will last you more than the high street version. But in reality leather wears, stitches break. Sole need re doing. The longes I’ve made boots last £100 black leather high street is 2 years and had them re sole 5 times.
Leather will always wear better than plastic, which is what faux leather is made out of. Plus, it is better for the environment to use natural materials that will eventually degrade (unlike plastic) when you do finally give them a toss.
I'm sorry, but a website full of overpriced designer labels isn't sustainable in any way, shape or form. Just buy and enjoy expensive designer labels if you can and want, don't try to dress it up in fashionable buzzwords. If you want a truer sustainability, buy them second hand.
apricotmuffins couldn’t have put it better myself. We can’t all spend £160 on a bikini top and £160 on bottoms. That’s insane! There’s nothing sustainable about that... by all means enjoy fashion if you can afford designer brands but don’t use the word ‘sustainable’ when you mean ‘over priced’!
Or just don't even buy clothes at all. Unless you run out of them and you don't have anything to wear anymore, then it's ok. But when there is for example like 20 t-shirts in your closet you are good and you don't need more :)
@@victoriamather2267 yes, there is something to be said about being more selective in your clothing purchases, but items that are £1000s are not at all necessary to be more sustainable. It's like the whole minimalist trend telling you you need to buy expensive minimalist furniture, to be aesthetically minimalist under the guise of being free of belongings. It's a farce.
That is true. I am a minimalist so I only buy what I absolutely love and use which means I don’t buy a lot. But when I do, I can now put more money into them. I wonder if Fleur was trying to do that but buying those price tags are not justifiable.
I love your style. In fact, seeing those boots at the end I realized you have shaped me from my teen years to like similar styles :P Those boots are gorgeous.
OMG Fleur your hair looks absolutely gorgeous in this video ! Can you please do a video on how you styled it? xx :
It makes me so happy to see you talking about sustainability. I wish more youtubers would follow suit! Thank you Fleur.
I can’t believe that I remember the boots 😂 Like how?! That’s 4years, o my! 🤭

Hi Fleur! What nail polish are you wearing?
Why say the boots were a splurge when they were gifted? 🤔
I don't think they were gifted. She got paid for the video but she bought the goods by herself I think..

Long time viewer here. Been watching from day 1! I totally guessed those black Givenchy buckle boots!! 😍😍😍
I would love some of those pieces, but they’re wayyyy out of my price range. I do agree with purchasing staples and classics over trendy pieces!
Welcome to South Africa! I hope you have a wonderful time❣️

Buying less but better/expensive is sustainable because you buy less in the long run and less in general.
Beautiful haul they all look amazing on you . ( Hope your feeling beter )
You look radiant in this video!
You should get some rubber soles put on the boots by a cobbler they will last so much longer, the rain here ruins leather soles.
I think we all remember those boots 🤣 i believe you got a dupe for them years ago?
I love your style. In fact, seeing those boots at the end I realized you have shaped me from my teen years to like similar styles :P Those boots are gorgeous.
Loved the vid:) & those boots too lol ^^
