I absolutely adore this gentleman who owns these nutmeg trees! If he can ship them to Canada I will buy some from him directly! I’m always wanting to support the hard working people who are hands on with the item I buy! If and when I get them and receive his address l, I would like to send him a few things to help him out starting with a new stainless steel grater! He has so much to offer us! Many thanks and God bless him.

When I was a child in JA, my mother would put nutmeg and sugar in warm milk to put us to sleep. I think the smell also had something to do with it's property to put us to sleep. It smells so good - Aromatherapy.
Edit: As long as I live, I will never understand why people in Jamaica can complain about not having anything to eat.

Nutmeg, undoubtedly is one of the finest spices originating in Asia. It is among the spices found in Jamaica along with vanilla, allspice (pimento) and black pepper. Ice cream, pies, buddings, pones, cookies, milkshakes and a host of deserts just pick your choice and your taste, 90% of the time it is either nutmeg or vanilla unless you are going for your choice fruit flavor.
It is only a pity that the humble gentleman MR. Butcher doesn't know like most people in the islands that he is living on a gold mine, a 1.8 ounce of the standard brand of nutmeg at the grocery store is no less than US$9.00. It is not too late for someone to step forward and help that blessed gentleman earn a decent price for his organic nutmegs.

So true, nut meg cost so much in the USA. The whole nut meg not greated in the shell cost more. The greated ones in that we purchase probably have other products included 🤔🤗, not the real deal. I didn't know that the orange part on the shell could be crushed & also be used in porridge 👍🏽🇯🇲. He is sitting on wealth & needs advice on how to get what its worth. Such a humble man🙏🏽. A friend from another Island brought me nutmeg and I realized that the Jamaican nutmeg had a stronger flavour and aroma than theirs. I even remember once I was reading about Jamaican pimento and scientist says that the pimento is 2 or 3 times stronger than others, which makes me think its because of the soil that's there.

I grew up in Connecticut, in the US. It has the nickname the nutmeg state, though I never knew why. The tree definitely does not grow in Connecticut.
Some say that it is due to the trade we did with those in the Caribbean, but others say that New Englanders from Connecticut were so shrewd, that they would carve a nutmeg out of wood, and sell it to you!
"Don't take any wooden nutmegs!" was a warning not to get taken by a con man😊

Mass Busha I swear you have some resemblance of my dear father. I jokingly had to send out this video to family and friends saying you are my papa's brother. Very, very interesting. I wish I could see and touch the tree and it's fruit in person. If only Jamaicans realize the amount of wealth they are sitting on, they would know that they don't have to tief, rob and destroy.

I admire Mr. Bush for preserving all those precious herbs and spices because most Jamaicans don't even know what some of these trees look like in real life. Thanks for your good job showing how blessed we are in this little country of Jamaica.

Nutmeg is one of my favorite spices, along with allspice, cloves and vanilla.
My mom used to use the mace in her black cake.
I use nutmeg in my oatmeal every morning. I'm aware of the health benefits and being cautious about consuming too much.
I remember gungo peas and that mint makes such good tea.

I remember when growing up in Jamaica we had black pepper tree. Is there any black pepper farm in Jamaica? The government should encourage black pepper farming for local and export markets
