Im new to the smoking game just got a chargriller smoker with the firebox got to season it then its ready to rock about how long total time for legs and thighs I like doing mine like you did on a charcoal grill an you said put on chicken at 275 correct im ready to do em in the smoker
I'm hesitant to tell you a specific time but at 275 I would go from 1-1.5 hrs., I would much rather see you go by the internal temperature of the meat and see you take it to 170-175*f. If you want to get serious about smoking meats you should get yourself a probe type digital thermometer, something like this should work fine. www.ebay.com/itm/Instant-Read-Digital-Meat-Thermometer-Waterproof-BBQ-Kitchen-with-Bottle-Opener/173691674814?hash=item2870d4a0be:g:iCMAAOSw1jpcFBUG
Love the part where the guy is "washing" the chicken. LLLLLL. Like that pit you got.........that has a few miles on it. What brand is that? Nice color on them!
Thanks man! It's a Brinkmann smoker, they used to make several different styles a lot of people got started using the small Brinkmann upright with the water pan in it similar to the Weber Smoky Mountain. This one is the perfect size for family sized meals, a single brisket, maybe two porkbutts, three max. I came up with that color scheme when I was trying to put letters over flames and other backgrounds in my early videos the two tone colors almost give it a neon effect and if one color gets washed out in the background the second does not. I'm glad you enjoyed the video.
Do what you do, but I recommend you read this. www.fsis.usda.gov/wps/portal/fsis/topics/food-safety-education/get-answers/food-safety-fact-sheets/safe-food-handling/washing-food-does-it-promote-food-safety/washing-food
