As a fan of Jackie Chan since I've seen "Die Schlange im Schatten des Adlers" (Snake in the Eagle's Shadow) about 30 years ago, I was a bit sceptic, that someone tries to make a Jackie Chan-Style fight scene. Also, the one you have taken as reference is quite an iconic one. So, in my eyes, the stakes were very high. I was very suprised to see, that the result was that good. I loved it! The entire sequence was bad-ass! First of all, a children's playground is perfect for the style of fight, with swings and bars and slides, etc. to use. I loved the speed, the resourcefulness, even the sand in the face kick! (which is a classic unwritten rule of playground etiquette). And you also faked out someone into turning and hurting themselves (always a bonus). And I also liked how there were a couple of moments where you actually made me think the hero was beaten, but then he was able to resurrect himself. There was something so satisfying about the choreography and humor of the scene, and it was so well done that it didn't matter if I didn't know who the actors are; it didn't take away from the enjoyment. Your team is amazing. Highest compliments. I can't imagine the amount of talent, time, effort, and dedication it takes to master the skills you guys have.

All of you are clearly talented and, let's be honest, having way too much fun at work! This was very entertaining and that's all that counts in the end. Thank you so much.
I completely agree! Even since making this video I’ve already learned more about timing, pacing, etc and can’t wait to apply it to my next project! 🙌🏻 Thank you so much though!!
Yeeeeaaahhh! I've been watching Jackie since the early 80's, he's even the first person I looked up on the internet. The style, humor, speed and physicality are all there, a clear tribute to Jackie and his stunt team. Great job, it brought a smile to my face knowing Jackie is being admired and emulated even now!
I'm watching this for the second time now. Honestly this is really the best anyone could do with that level of experience that you had when making this. Now I realize that.
Jackie's trickery from a position of vulnerability was always more elaborate and entertaining than what we see here. The part with the swingset at 1:23 would've seen Jackie avoiding a series of strikes from this position, and bewildering his attackers. Also, Jackie's scenes usually show him acting single-mindedly towards a purpose. I think it would've been more true to Jackie's style to play the scene that way. If his goal is to keep/get the suitcase, he *will absolutely not stop* chasing the suitcase when it's taken from him. His encounter with the "final boss" character should've featured Jackie retreating across the playground, actively chasing the (now scared) man with the suitcase, while fending off and flabbergasting his fantastic opponent.
Extremely impressive! One of the details that always makes a huge difference to me is when you never see the "bad guys" waiting for their turn to strike. There's always movement and no obvious hesitation by anyone.
That's awesome. I've been a fan of Jackie Chan for as long as I can remember. Got a whole box set of all his pre-Hollywood stuff on VHS still. This feels very much like it. I didn't think it could be done but you did it or at least came pretty damn close.

Spot on. This is classic Jackie Chan. Loved all the comedic relief (purple design socks were a hilarious touch), timing and pace was BEAUTIFUL! Plus the kid watching in the background at 1:40 added a nice touch, 😆 🤣
You guys nailed it 100%!!! Timing, creative choreography, physical performance, camera work & editing (including the Sound editing and Foley - many people underestimate that value). As some others mentioned: You deserve WAY MORE views! Well done! Chapeau to a true Jewel!
This is just phenomenal, the Webster kick to the stomach was definitely my favorite part because it shows such an insane amount of Ariel control to pull that off
this is soo great! dont even know why youtube suggested this 2 years later! i genuinely hope, that jackie chan has seen this. he would be proud! as far as i know, jackie and his stunt team use the grunts for coordination (what direction and whether its a punch, kick or whatever). i cant even figure, if this method was applied or not. and if you did, then this is damn good!
Very Jackie Chan like. When the girl flew back into the slide was great. Also good lighting and bright clothing so the audience can see the great action.
this fight scene is better than anything from hollywood by a long long way. however, jackie chan scenes are bit more organic. you guys have so much skill. good job.
This was very impressive! Doing Jackie Chan style fight scenes isn't easy, he is a true legend. However, I do believe even he would have been impressed at how good you guys did with this.
I loved every second! I grew up watching Jackie, Chuck, Bruce, and Brandon. Jackie has always been special because of his comedic talent and acrobatics. My favorite part of each of his films is the outtakes at the end. Thank you for continuing the tradition. 🎉❤🎉❤🎉
I think this is hands down better than 95% of Hollywood production these days. Have you considered making a kickstarter campaing to fund your own movie? Because I would 100% back it. Job well done guys. This was really entertaining and a good homage to Jackie Chan. Thank you.
this is pretty cool and fun to watch. i like how you guys use one technique that makes Hong Kong action films so much more enjoyable than Hollywood ones: you don't do any excessive editing in the fight scenes and that really sells the impact. nothing like those movies where the camera cuts to another angle every time someone makes contact, those are a chore to sit through. not this, this feels really organic.
Wow thank you so much for the great compliment! We are working hard on the next video in this series, "Fight Like Shang-Chi" which is proving to be an even greater challenge!
I agree with all others, you hit the beats really, really well. Great Jackie Chan homage! Only thing I wish is that at the end, the "hero" pulls something silly out of the bag and all that fighting was over ... a candy bar, or something.
Ok, you pretty much got the idea, the sock thing was accurate and so were other jokes throughout the scene. At 0:47, Jackie wouldn't yell and initiate. Also, in a late stage of the 1v1, you might have pulled a Drunken Master bit, making him more aggressive because he gets more and more concussions. The last "hello" was great, but the big finish being such a small leap doesn't feel right, and you didn't get the principle of "showing it twice, the audience will see it as a bigger hit". You have to cut mid shot, zoom in, and start mid momentum, but before the second at which you cut.
Pretty darn close to Jackie Chan's feel and fun to it. Great job. Hope he himself has seen your attempt and work. I feel he'd be proud of how you all did.
UA-cam recommended finally showing some good content. This was amazingly put together. As a former Jackie Chan fan i felt the nostalgia hit me and would love to see part 2 :D
This was awesome ! From the scaring the girl, to the swing scene - so super! One suggestion , keep the flat portions ( non fighting ones/ comedy) a bit crisper. Jackie Chan’s fights were a pleasure to watch again and again as you cannot process everything on the first watch.
Sweet video .. I love the nod to the final fight in Drunken Master 2. Ken Lo had to learn how to kick and fight like he did in the movie in three months time. Which is crazy because he looked amazing doing the work, and was Jackie Chan's body guard on top of it all...

The swings fight scene was super duper Jackie fight comedy. Could not have though anything better.
This is criminally underrated
We will take the compliment! Thank you so much!
Grew up watching Jackie Chan films, this rocks. Good work all
You really pulled it off~
You even put the famous "BTS + NG Shots End Credits"
I feel like watching City Hunter (Jackie Chan ver.) again.
My favourite hit is 0:37 because the bounce off the slide behind adds extra motions and a sense of impact.
Spot on. This is classic Jackie Chan. Loved all the comedic relief (purple design socks were a hilarious touch), timing and pace was BEAUTIFUL! Plus the kid watching in the background at 1:40 added a nice touch, 😆 🤣
This is so good! 🤩
of course the NG scenes at the end! perfect!
You guys nailed it 100%!!! Timing, creative choreography, physical performance, camera work & editing (including the Sound editing and Foley - many people underestimate that value).
As some others mentioned: You deserve WAY MORE views!
Well done! Chapeau to a true Jewel!
This is just phenomenal, the Webster kick to the stomach was definitely my favorite part because it shows such an insane amount of Ariel control to pull that off
Thank you so much! I'm just happy that Brett trusted me enough to do it to him! He told the Stunt so well! 🙌🏻
Yeah guys! This was awesome... VERY VERY WELL DONE!!! The feel is there.... the speed.. Sweet!!!
I love it! It was nail-biting, entertaining, and just the right amount of goofy. Well done, everyone!
This was pretty dope, great use of the playground. The swingset sequence was fire!
that was amazing, i usually hate fighting scene, but this style ones are so enjoyable to watch xD
That's such great feedback! Thank you for the awesome support!
Nailed it.
this is soo great! dont even know why youtube suggested this 2 years later! i genuinely hope, that jackie chan has seen this. he would be proud! as far as i know, jackie and his stunt team use the grunts for coordination (what direction and whether its a punch, kick or whatever). i cant even figure, if this method was applied or not. and if you did, then this is damn good!
Thank you so much!! So glad it eventually found you! One of my favorite projects to this day! 4 days filming craziness on that playground! :)
Impressive !
Thank you so much! So glad you enjoyed our playground shenanigans!
crazy good expressions and fighting, super fun sequence.
Very Jackie Chan like. When the girl flew back into the slide was great. Also good lighting and bright clothing so the audience can see the great action.
The storytelling of the guy losing his shoes in the fight with the stomp payoff is so Jackie.
Im glad I bump into this. You guys really captured the spirit of a Jackie Chan fight scene. You just got yourself a new fan.
this fight scene is better than anything from hollywood by a long long way. however, jackie chan scenes are bit more organic. you guys have so much skill. good job.
Thank you for the amazing compliment!! Wow! Truly blown away! So glad you enjoy it!
A+++++++++++++++++++++++++++, this was every bit a Jackie Chan style sequence it all it's perfect glory
I think this is hands down better than 95% of Hollywood production these days. Have you considered making a kickstarter campaing to fund your own movie? Because I would 100% back it.
Job well done guys. This was really entertaining and a good homage to Jackie Chan. Thank you.
Amazing job. Holywood stuntmen are on another level
this is pretty cool and fun to watch. i like how you guys use one technique that makes Hong Kong action films so much more enjoyable than Hollywood ones: you don't do any excessive editing in the fight scenes and that really sells the impact. nothing like those movies where the camera cuts to another angle every time someone makes contact, those are a chore to sit through. not this, this feels really organic.
Ahh that was so great, the different stunts, gags, the fight moving around the enviroment, amazing vid!
Loved it! Now, if only we had more fights like this in actual H'wood films...
Thank you for the awesome support!! It definitely is difficult to find Hollywood action movies with great action scenes but they DO exist!
30 times better than any contemporary hollywood fight scene
Thank you so much! I'm honored by your kind words!
Jackie's outtakes are just as entertaining as the movie. Thx for keeping urs!
Wow ! This is so perfect ! The Jackie chan vibe !!
Well choreographed. Very close. 95%, give or take, the speed of Jackie's scenes.
Thank you so much! This was such a fantastic learning experience for all of us to try to recreate the famous Jackie Chan style action!
1:39 I love it when the kids were just casually playing in the background when a bunch of duds were punching and kicking each other.
Oh my gosh that was so funny! I'm so glad that nobody asked us to stop haha. The kids and the parents were enjoying the show
this is better than anything I've seen in Hollywood in two decades
That is such an honor 🙇♂ Thank you so much!
2:46 is my favorite scene
The movements are reaally look alike with "Who Am I?" when Jackie Chan fought with 2 guys at the rooftop
Good job, dude!
don't know why this doesn't have more views this is amazing
Thanks for the awesome support!! It was a great project to do and learn from with my friends!
dude, this is as cool as an actual fight in Jackie Chan movies. Thanks youtube for show me this video. You can see the love and the respect super cool fight
Wow thank you so much! I'm so glad you enjoyed it! This was a really great challenge to work on with my friends. We're currently working on a Fight Like Shang-Chi video 🙌🏻 And that's definitely proving to be very difficult haha
@@OmarZaki can´t wait to see it! i'm sure is going to be awesome, you have lot of talent
liked how you broke it all down first to show what makes these fight scenes special, and then incorporated it into your fight scene. Great job!!
Thank you! I'm so glad you enjoyed it Mike! It was a great challenge to take on with my friends! Definitely more on the way!
0:57 Love the show time kick its just perfect!
