Cold War had so much potential. the no flinch snipers and slightly wonky movement caused some issues. but refine those 2 things and some others and its a banger.
The thing that killed it for me was the progression and unlock speed being *glacial* compared to MW2019 for much fewer guns.
Took so much of the enjoyment away from me. Played it for maybe 2-3 weeks.

@@junoperberry While I was playing on launch, I was top frag every game, played like 4-5 hours daily. Took about at least a week per gun to max them out, compared to maybe a day or two with MW2019.
Trust me, my performance was *not* the issue at the time. That said, they might've adjusted the values since then, since it's been 2-3 years.
EDIT: An immediate example was the amount of attachments that didn't immediately incur much noticeable benefit, and the max weapon level, AND how attachments were rewarded. For example for the Pellington (The best sniper in the game at the time for quick scoping), the along for weapon ADS speed and draw time was the most coveted, but also the absolute *last* attachment in line. Meanwhile, most attachments along the way didn't fundamentally change the weapon, they were attachments that it tended not to benefit from at all, despite 10 attachment slots instead of 5. Finally, it took much longer to level, as stated previously. It wasn't unusual in MW2019 to level up multiple times in a match, unlocking 2-3 attachments, and finishing the weapon within the day. Cold War took a literal week, and that's with exclusively using the gun. Inexcusable, and sluggish.

I think my biggest issue with this game honestly, was audio, the sound effects personally were lacking to me, especially coming from MW 2019, everything in that game sounded so good to me. It was a hard adjustment for me.

@@kalebross8795 Besides the graphics it had more rememberable guns, maps, and overall quicker matches. Vanguard is just gross, mw2 fails in every category except the graphics and even then they arent nothing to be proud of. Ive had less bugs and so forth with coldwar so the QOL factor is a bit better then the next two.

I'll be the first to say it. Despite how god awfully slow they are, I think the ZRG and the M82 are really fun guns. Yeah you can't exactly quickscope with the ZRG and the M82 is just too slow for how little damage it does anywhere on the body that isn't the upper chest or head, but when you get on a roll with both of them and you hear the enemies disbelief. It's just one of the best feelings.

I absolutely loved Cold War during its life cycle. The snipers most definitely were op and during that time I played hard-core. Shit was really fun. Getting called a hacker in free for all was hilarious. Predicting the spawns on this game was really easy
Lmao this just happened to me the other day. My 2nd game on after not playing CW for years and i get called a hacker in hardcore FFA because i joined late and still won 1st place and had some nasty flicks.

Cold War movement just felt weird to me. I loved mw2 kind of movement and while I didn’t dislike Cold War, I wasn’t a huge fan of the movement
I prefer cold war movement rather than modern warfare movement because it feels faster
I really wish Treyarch would get to use their classic engine for their next title, but sadly it'll just be another Modern Warfare game. The classic feel is what separates Cold War

This game is delightful, best fun i've had in years. The re-spawn game modes are the best COD experience since BO2. The SnD playlist is second only to MW2019, but the rest of that game sucked! Did I mention Zombies?
