Mixed Media Canvas Tutorial - Collage with Watercolor Flower

🌞 I have a mixed media canvas video for you today. I used a watercolor flower painted on old book paper as a focal image. I made it pop combining it with black gesso, acrylics, oil pastels and Stabilo Woodys

I enjoyed this so much. Just a question. What would be the result if you used black acrylic paint rather than black gesso? Is the gesso easier to wipe back?

I believe there is no big difference. Gesso is usually a bit less glossy in comparison to acrylic paint. Both can be wiped back as long at it is wet. Happy you enjoyed the video.

Susanne I love your canvas! I wonder if Burnt Umber would also look great as a background color, wiping it on and then off again to give it a very vintage look! 🥀

I use wax paper in between the pages so they don't stick or transfer to the next page
