That was a great instruction on how to make your pack smell good again. Yes I know that issue... Tim had a running shirt that had this issue. Good information here.

@@NicoleHikesalot I like the Hyperlite Windrider a lot, especially the light weight. One issue I had was the dynema developed small creases across the padded area where it sat on my back. It was very comfortable for me on my thru hike except for about a week when the creases created a sore on my back which really hurt. It was a minor crease but since the pack sits on your back it caused the sore. I kept putting my sit pad between the pack and my back witch helped. After a week, I think the spot toughened and I did not have any more issues and still use the pack today without any more issues. I would buy it again.

Osprey is a great pack for the trail👍! A little heavier than the Hyperlite but probably more comfortable.
I was really laughing at the pictures in the beginning and your description of the smell is spot on. It's kind of like an ammonia smell the likes of which you have never smelled before!!! Of all the videos I've watched, I can't recall any showing this method. Thank you! John (OSAT) from MI
