  • The secret to attaining enlightenment in this life is paradoxical because we are required to go beyond awakening itself. The most dangerous spiritual book in the world explains the secret knowledge of transcending samadhi. In this episode of The Sacred Word, I will explain an important verse from the Avadhuta Gita, a text one is ready to assimilate after enlightenment. The Avadhuta Gita is for those who want to absorb themselves in the presence of the Ultimate Reality after awakening.

There is no “higher self” to search for. You are the higher self. Only give up the false ideas you have of yourself.

only when someone has given up false ideas, would it be correct to say they are the higher self.
in the vast majority of human beings, that's not the case.
to truly surrender one's identity as a separate being, an ego, is not an easy task.

Even though a thought identifies as an illusory seperated self, based on grasping to a point of view, this is all happening within the Higher Self.

Greetings - have been meditating (Zen and Raja Yoga) - since 11 - and for about 50 years.
To master the mind, mould the ego - and merge in the heart - while meditating
    - is not so easy - for aspirants. Definitely and wholly worthy though.
Less and less of words, though - feelings real - and transcending, even experience.
    Surrender - into love, methinks.
    Fare thee well.

There is a state of mind we call "consciousness"; and in this state we experience a world as a human personage within. Never do we stop to think "there is no world"; there is only a temporary state of mind that gives rise to a seemingly separate world, a seemingly separate mind. Yet this temporal flux within Mind is not at all the real; but rather the unreal, a momentary fantasy within eternity.

Nirvikalpa samadhi alone is the path to Liberation. Samadhi is not an attainment. It is the revelation that samadhi is already the natural state. Nirvikalpa is temporary, but it is the path to Sahaja samadhi which is permanent, otherwise known as Self Realization.

The problem is that even though I am brahman, I still can't experience it. At the end of the day experience matters, because no matter how well you come to the conclusion through self inquiry it is very hard to maintain it from moment to moment in today's society. Even after 10 years of meditation I still can't get over trying to impress other people or what they think about me. It's so sad that my happiness is still dependent on other peoples views about me.
I have taken so many bad decisions because of that.

Yes I to have attained life changing realizations through a random but incredible one off spiritual experience and thereafter intense meditation many years ago but it hasn't completely removed my addictive mindset created by childhood trauma, but my realizations have very nearly eliminated any addictive traits but only 99%.
Personally I think I need to maintain my practice more each day to bring me back to myself which I have neglected,in order to purge myself 100% from this attachment, which is what it is.

I am not going to argue with anyone on any subject or topic, but as far as Free Speech is concerned I am entitled to my opinion... EACH OF US IS UNIQUE, thus I cannot see through your eyes nor can you see through mine and that is a fact... I know my past life and the period in between as well as this current one... We are proud as human beings that we have Languages and Logic and our brain and our brain and language and logic to us is everything... A little reasoning tells us that a word must have an absolute definition if not that particular word is nonsensical or just nonsense word, or just wind without meaning... An ancient Legend in Ancient Bharat (India) had related long long time ago that as Lord Shiva taped his finger on his Dameru (hour-glass drum) Energies in the form of sounds generated from it were received by Saptarishi ( 7 Rishis) and they called those sounds and energies "Sanskrit" - SANSKRIT vs SANSKRITAM ... : Sanskrit gave birth to human knowledge and wisdom... Not to be confused with Sanskr'tam everyone called Sanskrit ... SANSKRIT IS ALWAYS SOUND ENERGY, not and never be written material... The Master passes the Sanskrit Wisdom to his pupil via the Art of Memory and the Wisdom reveals itself as time passes... We do not know what it is but our heart tells us that at the core of it we should call it "TRUTH" and our heart desires it that it should be absolute above everything... Absoluteness should be it is what it is even it exists beyond our reasoning and imagination for we are all here whether we like it or not...
The Late "Prahlad Jani", one of many many, who had never wasted great Sanskrit Wisdom by speaking or arguing using words, had lived the last 70 years of his life without eating food nor drinking any liquid nor the need to relieve it...
The Human Brain which has invented Language and Mathematics is the servant of "Apasmara" (the little guy who lies underneath Lord Shiva's right foot as he dances the cosmic dance) to keep man as a prisoner within his own head from birth to death by confusing him with system of believes and empty words of deities and religions etc... so that man forget who he really is... Thus, to truly attain one's salvation or spiritual enlightenment to know who one really is one must learn to get to know one's own brain (Ego, Logic, Emotion, Impulses and Memories and Imaginations etc...) and Who "Apasmara" is to know who one really is... NO ONE can embrace the "Great Ocean of Truth", but one can admire her great shores via one's 3rd Eye or Budh (बुध्) or the Pineal Gland (not the brain nor mind)...

I feel like this is over complicated. It’s essentially the out of body state right? Same thing you experience when you leave the body during meditation or a high dose mushroom trip.
I agree that it shouldn’t be your life goal to achieve this state but it’s definitely nice to experience a few times in your life. It’s a reminder of what to expect at the end of your life.

We are not outside the kingdom walls, we are inside them.
How joyfully easy it is to open gates within the kingdoms walls!
We are only "trapped" in our perceptions and beliefs.
      But it's only a dream.
      Forgive the dream.
      For all is one.
Like a wave to the ocean.
      It is all water.
Anger and guilt and fear can only rise from judgement. Judgement is a perception of a ego built among pillars of sand of the 5 senses that frame this narrow scope with a viel of seeking for pleasure and pain.
      It's a messanger of fear.
So of course it attacks the body and what it does.
But there is nothing to fear.
Everything is good for you are in the mind of God.
Your only function is to forgive the illusion.
      And feel the peace
      you
      are not the wave.
      You are the ocean

      you're quite correct.
as long as bliss is being experienced, there is someone experiencing it.
if one is experiencing bliss, it's a sign one hasn't merged completely.
as i understand it, in savikalpa samadhi, one identifies with brahman, but still has some sense of identity, and thoughts may arise, and feelings, including bliss.
going beyond savikalpa, is nirvikapla samadhi, where one loses any sense of a separate self, no thoughts arise, no bliss, it's like completely dissolving into a great ocean, you become the ocean.

    • @notmaya1157
      @notmaya1157 7 місяців тому +1

Become the bliss. When we look at it from the perspective of the atman ( the untouched and unblemished part of our being ) the bliss is being observed by the awareness there is absolutley no person experiencing the bliss whatsoever because mind and matter are illusory and the person we think we are is just a thought process. Bliss is pure energetic. When we merge with the bliss all sense of identity will fall away and we become the ocean of ecstacy which in reality is all that is really happening in the first place and all that is ever happening. Its our attachment to the world that thickens the veil. 🙏 just putting my bit in from my own perspective.

@@antifascist7818 as i understand it, savikalpa samadhi and nirvikapla samadhi are temporary experiences, states of absorption, and one "comes back" from them, usually.
there is also sahaja samadhi, which is like a permanent nirvikalpa samadhi, where the mind is permanently destroyed. destroyed, not in the sense that one becomes a vegetable, but, rather, that no thoughts ever arise again, and all of one's actions and speech arise spontaneously from that point, onwards.

Let go the thought that you are imperfect and unclean, let go all thoughts, all things, thought is like the breath in that it does not need you to make it happen, rest in the living truth of presence, choose one over the many, you are that, that which holds all things is that on which you rest, that which holds all thoughts yet needs keep none, it is at the very centre of you, know it by by unknowing, let go the thought that carries you away, remember you have none, keep none for your own.🙏

You can't attain enlightenment. No one can. You can only realize that you already are.
You can see the body as a bodhi tree and the mind a mirror bright. Each day you wipe and polish it so no more dust will dim its light.
This is known as the lesser truth of enlightenment and "Seekers" often fail into this trap.
But the Greater truth of enlightenment is that There IS NO Bodhi tree(body), or light of a mirror bright (mind). In Truth ALL is void and silent so where can the dust alight. The sixth patriarch said that.
Just sit and know that 'you are' the 'I AM' without words, that is all that is needed. Soon you will arrive at your natural absolute state.
Another thing you can do is close your eyes and imagine yourself meditating under a great old bodhi tree. now also imagine the buddha meditating in the same way beside you.
Now move the buddha slowly until HIS image is superimposed in front of you and your image slowly disappears until all is left is the buddha.
When you've fully integrated the fact that you are a fully awakened supremely enlightened buddha, slowly open your eyes.
Look around the room as a buddha and 'YOU' (the silent witness). Take a walk as a newly enlightened and awakened one. Drink some water as an awakened one.
Observe your body language and mannerisms when you do all these things and notice how they're different from "oh little me" the accountant, homemaker, male/female body 'you'.
Continue to be this way for an hour. And when you decide to go back to the old little you, put on your mask and play the part of little you(John, Jason, Angela, Caitlin, etc..)
OR if you wish, CONTINUE to stay as the REAL YOU (your fully enlightened aligned buddha state) for Another extra hour. Then another then another then another, until everything else aligns and eventually reaches your New TRUE Real supremely enlightened, present moment aware, current NEW enlightened buddha state.
    Thank you. And that's it.
