I just had a spiritual awakening which revealed these truths to me after 10+ years suffering depression! I unintentionally isolated myself for many years and although very frustrating and painful at times, I used various meditation techniques to unveil my trauma and unlearn the untrue things that were said about me by the prevailing culture. The process for me was little by little peeling off the layers and following the small glimpses of feeling slightly better - like finding rungs on a ladder in the dark. Now that I’ve come through it, I see depression a natural unveiling process to find our true Self vs an illness that needs to be pathologized. Normal is not normal, un normal is normal. When the mirror takes you too far you only believe what is true inside the mirror. Take a step out into the greater reality of universal oneness. Thank you for this beautiful description you laid out so well. 🙏 🧘♀️ 🍄
Powerful testimony my friend. So beautifully described: like finding rungs on a ladder in the dark. Love that and definitely relate. I started a spiritual journey a decade ago in the throes of hell and addiction and it was a slow process of unlearning and observing the many "failures" and slip ups. Eventually, I was conditioned to a new identity where now it feels like those days were a dream. Nothing in my current structure of self resonates with that former identity. My point is, out of our darkest moments arises our brightest light. The Law of Polarity is just that-poverty brings in abundance. Addiction brings in liberation. Depression brings in spiritual ascension. Thanks for sharing your story!
What about love? One thing I can’t get over is how my love for my children could not be severed. I’d come back a million times into jeeva being, just to experience this love. Even as I’m typing this, I’m almost out of my body due to this crazy feeling of expansion from overflowing with love.
Thanks Jason, I am back here in my City after visiting Arunachala. Its true whatever u say and your Video on the Final truth helped me find the courage to seek this spiritual non dual understanding. I have changed a lot and am abundant now. The Ego has subsided and the non dual approach is taken over me.
Jason every time I watch one of your videos there are things that jump out at me because they’re things that I will say to my wife. Just this morning we had an emotional chat about life and I said to her “hurt people, hurt people” Spirit recognizes spirit 🙏🏼
Your environment has a lot to do with who you believe you are. So putting someone in an unknown environment has a direct effect on the behaviour and beliefs. Also more people are brought together through there suffering. Than their happiness. It’s a bit of an unconscious social club. Or suffering club. Maybe this is why so many people aren’t interested in there true nature. Great video🙏
I LOVE your channel! 2 years ago when I was first getting involved with Eastern Spirituality, I couldn't understand you. You were over my head. I still listen to each video several times. I want to remember everything you say. Thank you for your hard work. ❤🎉😊
Jason takes these highly complicated spiritual texts, churns and churns till the essence comes out then he gives us in precise portions. However, its like taking an advance course, which require pre-requisites. By keep listening to these spiritual discourses, the pre-requisites requirements get fulfilled, it will all make sense.
It’s interesting because people tend to grow closer through what we call suffering; and often the fastest way to heal our own suffering is by helping others through similar situations. And since other people are like alternate versions of our Selves/Source, we get healed as well. New Age perspective seems to focus only on learning through suffering and amending karma, but I think life is more than that…it is meant to be enjoyed as well - after all, animals and non-humans don’t have to worry about karma. The soul is indestructible and doesn’t feel any pain/suffering, it is only the body and mind. But it also makes me wonder…if the soul doesn’t suffer, then why are past life traumas/birthmarks etc. passed down to the next life? The soul must still be affected by something to keep wanting to reincarnate. And if we are supposed to break free from the jiva in our lifetime, aren’t we just going through endless loops because our memories and soul missions are erased each time? And how does the soul know who it is after being conditioned thousands of times on Earth/other worlds? I like to try and remind myself that we are only separated by distance and our bodies. No one is separate from anyone…we only feel separate from other people and animals because A. they have different bodies and minds than us and B. we can’t see them in spirit. We’ve probably been in millions of species and we still have hundreds of lifetimes to go. Death, time, suffering, and duality are the greatest illusions of all and it seems only a lucky few are able to realize it.
I saw a video recently of a monk in Vietnam who was to be self immolated, he was doused in petrol while seatin calmly in lotus position and when flames sparked engulfing him whole within a second he didn't even move an inch, after about 30 seconds he just dropped like a piece of burnt wood, I am sure he took himself "away" from that destined suffering by special techniques he had learned in temple previously, it was intense.
Suffering is necessary in the evolution of Humanity. So that people will seek ways to end it by self practice and cultivation. Otherwise it will negate the Buddha Dharma. 😊
Nicely explained jason I do learn a lot about eastern philosophy, non dual reality in particular from your excellent videos, you are a good communicator, even though I disagree with most of what you say. It is good to see another perspective, broadens ones horizons. I feel suffering or our jiva is not an illusion, from personal experience suffering is critical in growing as a compassionate human being, suffering although highly unpleasant and painful has taught me so much about myself and to put my trust in God, peace
There is a Lw of Karma ( = thoughts and actions ) which says your sufferings, happiness, environment, situations are all of self made. A good environment or happiness is created as a. Consequence of good karma and vice versa. The English translation of the law “ every action has an equal and opposite reaction “ is also a narrow version of Karma . Heaven and hell are experienced ( in your mind );while we are alive in this planet and not after death. “Mind “ is the heaven or hell
Suffering has only made me grow hateful towards humanity. There is no god, never has been, never will be. One thing suffering will never do, is make me more caring or compassionate. Quite the fucking opposite and always will. The more I suffer, the more I intend to inflict it upon others. And I will never stop
There is a Law of Karma ( = thoughts and actions ) which says your sufferings, happiness, environment, situations are all of self made. A good environment or happiness is created as a. There is no be who is born and no one who dies. There is no one who suffers and no one who is enlightened. There is no one who oppresses and no one who is oppressed. The soul does not buy into any of the nonsense that there is a “self”. We are of the same eternal Brahma spirit by existing as the Atman- the supreme self.
Happiness is relative, just as everything is relative. What are you relating your happiness with, ask yourself. Now, for there to be an external world, there must be some kind of projection. What does the external world look like to you? It is you projecting it, however it appears to you. Thus, your happiness must be somewhat relative to what you're projecting outside of you. Can you project chaos and still be happy? Yes, you can. :) It depends on how you perceive this seeming chaos.
I get the idea that the body is an illusion, but experiencing pain itself is very real. never hit the thumb rather than the nail with a hammer? I find it hard to ignore and distance myself from it. I bet it can be done though. I am just a beginner.
The body is here but also the sky and the stars and houses and so on and so forth. That which you are is throughout all this. So the illusion is trying to make that which you are separate from everything else. Trying to indulge the idea that you are only a body is suffering. Look closely and understand that the 'i' has never existed, it has only been assumed to exist. The action of assumption is the experience of 'i'. There is no need to relate to primitive existence through a reflective internal dialog. That which is already is. It is inherent in this moment.
This is an inherent misunderstanding… And it cannot be explained through words anymore. One day by the grace of the divine we get a clear vision of what has always been, and the alleviation of thousands of imagined years of suffering comes off our shoulders. Then apparently we forget again, and the hammer once again hits the nail ❤
Body is Not an illusion. The thought 'I' is an illusion. Another thought that 'I am this body' connects this illusory 'I' and the body. So when the body suffers, I too suffer. But once the illusory I is no more, then whose body is it that suffers? Then it's just the body that suffers and not me.
Imagine it as a droplet and the ocean, when the droplet is isolate yo are experiencing ego consciousness, when the droplet returns to the ocean it become the ocean (Brahman).
Dare I say or ask that experience through the Jiva is like looking back through the worldly realm, would it be so that the Atman is also living through the Jiva. My confusion here is that Atman and Brahman being one and the same is suggestive that Brahman is a seeker as much as it is an experience or does intellect only reside in the differentiated. Is it possible that even questioning dissolves at Brahman? Perhaps when we release ourselves from the direction we seek we can glimpse looking from Behman. It appears my Jiva is hijacking my line of thought. Shanti Shanti Shanti.
@@AwakenZen really bro, how dare people say that suffering is not real?? I am shocked to hear such nonsense... then suffering is not real, only joy, what is happiness? and only suffering is created by the mind, wait, you can't even write shit like that. thoughts have no power to create suffering or pleasure or happiness, it comes from the things you do and what you have, so simple. Thanks J. It ain't necessarily so. So I ask, what ain't necessarily so? The things that your lible to read in the bible it ain't necessarily so. So...? I play with words. I know this sounds mental, but doesn’t the existence of hungry/angry ghosts show that our essence has retained some experience of mortal life? Like our passions become ontological part of who we are?

Can you mellow out on the ads? I know we all need to make money, but perhaps just put them at the beginning or the end? Thx.

I would absolutely love this if explained with English words and corresponding definitions vs throwing in Hindu words , lore and traditions.
Actually there are some Sanskrit words like Atman or Jiva that cannot be translated into English. So Jason has to use Sanskrit words only.

Does animals have the ultimate bliss ananda? And plants?

Suffering has a cause
Suffering has an end
There is a path that leads to the end of suffering
Seeing in the endthat suffering does not exist
Life is suffering
