18:00 Massive Spin in this scenario is not about the dmg, but apply the debuff quicker and from a far distance
If anyone is wondering why Sweet Surrender isn't good: the +% from the attack boon is not affected by the +15% from Sweet Surrender. That +10/15% *only* applies to the *base* damage.
If you have a base damage of 50, an attack boon that gives you +80%, and Sweet Surrender giving you 10%, your damage formula is:
50 * (1 + 0.8 + 0.1) = 50 * 1.9 = 95
*It is not* 50 * 1.8 * 1.1 = 99
It's basically equivalent to a pom. In some cases, a pom actually is better.

Wait so let's say I get Aphro's special (+80%) on Sword , so 50*(1+0.8) and get Sweet Surrender (+10%), so now do I deal 50*(1+0.8+0.1) or 50*1.1*1.9?

My favourite combination with the Hades spear is actually poseidon with any of the secondary Poseidon boons. The idea is to clear rooms really fast by having enemies smash into the walls and such. Not great in asphodel but it's insane for elysium clearing/styx which i find to be the hardest parts of the runs.
Love how educated you've made me about when I take hammers.
Then you have the few times where the second hammer doesn't get offered until Styx or at all...

the last time i played hades i was drawn towards the fist, but the spear is honestly so much fun. the serrated point is actually the hammer that got me my first win on my second playthough, so good

Thanks for this! Completely changed my perspective on what used to be my least favorite aspect because I was so focused on spinning and ignoring special hammers. Just got my highest heat spear clear with Deadly Flourish, Exploding launcher + Charged Skewer plus some Chaos, Rush delivery and Billowing strength for extra spice. It tore up EM4 dad like he was nothing.
I’ve been saying this for soo long and they all called me crazy for it
this was just an explosive launcher run...

@Haelian easier to play with other aspects dealing similar or higher damage with less setup. Aspect of Hades feels like mental gymnastics with far stretches comparatively. (Personal opinion)

Yeah I definitely should've been using something like this when I brute forced a 40+ with this aspect. I always lean toward the spin hammers and outright ignore anything to do with the special. Even with serrated point the damage just feels so lackluster on the heroes & dad fight and they just drag.

hurt to watch you sell hunters mark! Strong drink is just additive percent, which, on top of all your other damage buffs, really only was increasing your damage by a couple percent, but epic hunters mark, plus PP and the 20% on the special means that you could essentially maintain a chain of near 100% crit damage, increasing your total output by potentially double!
Nah Hunter's Mark won't do much versus dad with so few mobs and that was the only fight worth considering at that point.
Actually poseidon if you get all the extra boons especially breaking wave and razor shoals works wonders for the spin to win build, fast spin hammer required though and zeus on something to get the duo with poseidon spin becomes op

I love the Hades spin. I turn fiery presence on and go to town. I find I really struggle if I turn on the pack that speeds up the enemies though.

Hades aspect is so hard, although I escaped a couple of times. I don't get big damage numbers, it's a slow whittling away thing for me

I was just wondering if you would ever consider doing a guan yu spin to win build as I love playing these builds but they only sometimes work for me

I feel like spin builds are actually pretty strong if you use it properly but it's kinda hard to do with forced overtime and stuff. That's why Guan Yu is probably the most underrated aspect.
Love WIPPING the screen as the enemies are about to spawn and giving a massive damage boost to whoever is still alive

i like going into massive + quick spin because the aoe is HUGE, dying lament might be pretty pog for that because you can almost hit the entire screen, and if you have a high damage boost or some other effect that could be really strong
all this time i thought the spin damage was also boosted by the 150%, imagine the results if i was playing the game right
i honestly think massive spin for spreading debuffs is great, im pretty sure it does spread them, otherwise i guess ive been using it wrong
I never thought about it until now, can you pom Strong Drink? I don't recall ever seeing it offered, or why you'd throw a pom on it vs other boons

@@HaelianI'm guessing they mean something like the general gist of each of the gods' main contributions as well as what boons might be best for which weapons.
I like using Demeter and Aphrodite on it and getting even more damage with Privileged Status

Why do the end screen says you have 51 total clears, but the weapon rundown shows only this clear? Is this a special file for high heat runs?
This is a speedrun file that's shared on speedrun dot com. I have to reset my save on occasion for a few reasons, namely big mods like the one that adds new Gods and for the sake of speedrunning (more run attempts = longer load times).
You don't recommend EM4 for 32 heat but here I am doing it for like 20 heat lol
It's a fun pact and I'll often run it at 20 heat myself but I definitely wouldn't recommend it for someone trying to snag a new heat record win for themselves.
My first (and so far ONLY) spear win was with Hades spear
u should try a cast build with the achilles spear, get some artemis for crits and use poseidon in special and cas and possibly call, the special knocks foes away to keep u safe and also bffs the cast to some crazy damage (use the regeneratimg cast)
then spec into knock away damage and pick rupturing boons from poseudon if possible. hermes auto reload for quicker cast regeneration and your quoite powerful
its just the opposite of hades spear, u dont want to build into the spin

Hades 2 HELLISH boogaloo. I’m applying your tips and I’m doing better, almost all my weapons are at 20 heat. 32 heat I’ve gotten once but it kicks my butt most of the time. unfortunately at this point I need to be faster, dodge better, get good basically 😅

I kinda like seeing your unlucky runs. Your extremely lucky runs are fun, don't get me wrong. But like in this run when you lost your epic hunters mark and you dealt with it gets me in into the kinda cold gamers rush mode, even though I'm obviously not playing.

Aspect of Hades is his old spear. There's some dialogue about how he used to use it but upgraded to the new one.

The punishment dmg works on EVERYTHING. It means that if you have passive ways to do dmg without push buttons works great... LIGHTING ROD LOL
Edit: This is a joke guys. Both Aspect of Hades and Lighting Rod sucks
It only applies to Attack and Special damage. Says so in the description.
