Yes, that is so wise. We make ourselves suffer by our expectations for our children. It’s important to let them be themselves, not extensions of us, and guide them with love and respect.
Unfortunately, parents can practise mindfulness and calm resistance as much as they, but if a child (usually, a teenager) has narcissistic personality trades - all that love and patience will never be recognised by their child. Also, Child protection or Social Service agencies do not help as they support teenager's abusive behaviours under children rights laws. Such agencies do not recognise Child to parent abuse and blame, usually, mothers for teenagers' bad choices and behaviour. At the same time the same mother is being abused by that child. Sad... School's are also powerless to educate kids about simple life values or to discipline kids. So kids' delusional thinking and entitlement just expands with children rights being used as an excuse to suppress parenting and disciplining at school (emotional abuse according to delusional teenagers). Current times are not great for parenting. Also, the same failing services completely dismiss true crimes against kids, who should be protected by Children Rights and services.
"Blaming children’s rights for poor parenting? Maybe it’s time to reflect on how adults are setting the example. Discipline isn’t the problem-connection and understanding are."
Lots of people are in trauma. Children are Not Ever Ever Ever to be blamed!!!! Communities bring a child up Loving Communities Loving Relationships Try to think outside the box...you are the adult. Listen to your child Value them ❤ Value their needs. And YOURS ❤❤❤
Parental neglect, unfortunately, totally disrupts and corrupts the spiritual direction of children, and it takes a long time for most children to find correct guidance.
So in my old age, and when I most need the help of my children, they forget that I’m even alive. They think that a phone call on my birthday and at Christmas is enough. What do I do? Must I also forget that they exist?
In a world full of people with narcissistic and many other manipulative traits, how can you even make such video putting the blame on victims aka children? I was raised by a mom who not once said that she loved me or although I was a really beautiful girl never told me so instead repeatedly said negative things like I was fat or look so ugly when I cried (because I was heartbroken often). Still she did some good things too and that’s why I have not cut contact with her her and call her once a week. Thing is it took me more than 40 years to heal from the wounds she gave me by diminishing me and claiming she’s the most sacrificing mom in the whole entire universe! Thing is teachings like this empowers over growing number of people who decide to become parents just to drop their own childhood dirt on their children. Not everyone has the resilience to see the true nature of their parents and clue in why they have given them wounds. Videos like this should be fair helping both sides, putting the blame on children calling them unappreciative only turns them into next generation abusive parents
Ultimately my folks meant well, but you dont realize that until you've been out in the world a while, & many unfortunately never get over the resentment on either side when parents are fukd up like mine were. I was fortunate i went from hating them in my teens to understanding by my late 20s, & without having kids of my own. My older sister who's 57 & has 3 still throws sht up from 50 yrs ago any time they cross each other. However, before i hated them as a teen i asked myself if they weren't your parents would you be friends with these people? And the answer was a resounding NO WAY!!!😅 So is what it is, but no hard feelings, mom & dad. Like with every other being caught up in the matrix, i only wish you well. Don't fuk with me & i wont fuk with you.🙏❤️ ✌️🌎❤️
Acceptance nonjudgement, forgiveness and unconditional love starts with self. Then and only then will you truly learn how to love another

Don't have children until you've dealt with your own trauma. An unpopular take, I know...
This happened to me. Its the worst pain.
Sorry and take heart
Dump them and save yourself.
Now in my 60's, I appreciate my parents much more then I did when I was young.

Having seen this from both sides, I can understand and respect what my son is doing and going through.

Glad I don't see my son like this. He is beautiful and unique and has his own life path to forge.

Wonderful guidance ❤
