Great video! Im glad y'all were spared from one more ride on spine blower. I think doing this in waves will definitely make sense like you said, with it being summer, just have some improvement on the worst parts, then finish it or append onto it later. Also, if Fun Spot is ALREADY doing major expenditures after AFO, I think it's safe to say they are not reeling from a bad financial decision. I think this only signals good things for Fun Spot and the rumored next steps at their parks.
While I agree that the Florida heat and humidity and whatever they do for maintenance is a factor for how rough it got, you have to factor in that Fun Spot is open year round so it gets more use then many other woodies. I never rode to the original Gwazi, but I know that had a reputation for having gotten rough in a hurry and I imagine Busch Gardens does a first rate job on maintenance.
White Lighting is the older of the two and it is pretty much as smooth as a wooden coaster can get since it recently got some standard retracking done, based on my visits White lighting was getting at least 4-8x the ridership of Mine Blower.
i somehow stuck up with mine blower 5 times last year. Got such an amazing layout but I couldn’t bare how rough it was, very glad this is happening , thanks funspot
Glad they’re doing something. I rode it opening day in 2017 and it was my favorite coaster in FL for awhile. But it just tore itself apart. I hear the maintenance or humidity argument, but White Lightning still rides fine so it has to be something else, or a combination of factors. Either way, glad to see they’re working on it rather than just giving up on it altogether. It really is a great ride.
I rode it twice (front and back) the day before it closed....the inversion and hills are not bad but....that those turns, oh my lord. It is not even rough at that point, it felt like a straight up car accident.
This ride has so much potential! I love the layout so much. The airtime is top notch but the roughness is unbearable. I like when wood coasters have a bit of a bite to them but Mine Blower was WAY too much. I rode it a bunch during my visit last year and it was impossible to ride it more than twice in a row. It some how ran even rougher for me during my visit this year! It was a one and done. I hope the retrack fixes the worst parts of the ride like every valley and some of the turns but still keeps some of that wood coaster bite.
I love Mine Blower but the roughness does make it not re-ridable. But I LOVE RMC even more! As long as it’s just a literal re-track and not a redo to the layout I’m happy.
So excited about this. We go to Fun Spot a couple times a month. I won't let anyone in my family ride Mine Blower because I know they will hate it. I always ride it once a visit and swear I'll never do it again. I like the layout so making it smoother would be great. We've already got a full blown hybrid with Iron Gwazi, so just retracking Mine Blower is fine. I've always heard that part of the roughness is due to technical problems during construction. Still hoping for an RMC raptor for the Orlando park! I love White Lightning and my whole family loves Freedom Flyer. Adding an RMC would make Orlando such a great little park!
I am so happy this happened! This ride has one of my favorite layouts for a small wooden coaster yet the roughness made it so I couldn't ride it more than 3-5 times in row without feeling like my bones were gonna crack open.
I rode it on 2017 and it rode really great and was one of my favorite rides that trip. It’s great to see them help bring it back to what it was or even better
I am so happy they’re doing this I remember going there later last year and actually emailing fun spot and complaining that they needed to retract mine blower
I honestly haven't really thought of Mine Blower getting an RMC retrack, especially since it opened only 6 years ago. I would expect it to get the GCI Titan Track or the Gravity Group precut track like you said if anything. Me personally have not rode it myself but from the back row POV, it does look like the train shakes quite a bit, especially on the valleys of the drops. It'll be interesting to see what this retrack does to the ride. I can't wait to ride it when it opens back up!
I am excited and I low key want the entire track to have the 208 on it. Just because, we have “RMC” hybrid/ibox coasters. Which are fun and crazy and in a category of their own. But we don’t have a “traditional” wood style coaster from them and Mind Blower is a “traditional” wood coaster, yes it has one inversion but for the most part it’s a traditional wood coaster layout, and with the support structure and layout even with a steel track could look and feel like a traditional wood coaster. And could potentially show, hey you can get that old school wooden coaster feel and layout and support structure that doesn’t have to be out of this work intense, but do it in all steel so it’ll remain smooth for years to come and is easier to maintain. Cause the 208 track doesn’t get painted so that it blends in with regular wood track. So it could still look like an old school woodie which is something we don’t have from RMC yet.
I JUST RODE MINEBLOWER AT THE END OF DECEMBER AND IT WAS MY FIRST RIDE AND I WAS SUSPRISED ON HOW ROUGH IT WAS GLAD TO SEE RMC RETRACK SOME OR ALL OF IT
I just rode it two days ago for my first time at midnight(visiting from oregon so that’s probably my only ride for a long time) and I was lucky enough to get a ride because they told me I got the last ride for awhile(I saw the RMC track and put two and two together), but oh my gosh I thought I was going to die from the roughness, unbelievably bad, this sounds like a fantastic idea to retrack it!
Nice! I skipped this ride when I was in Orlando in January because I was scared of the back pain. Plus, White Lightning was closed during my visit so I didn't see the point of getting the FunSpot pass
They just re-tracked White Lightning... It's really smooth now. I used to LOVE Mine Blower, but, it got way too bad. When GCI re-tracked White Lightning, they would replace track during the week and open it on the weekend. They are probably doing this in stages... Hopefully, a lot of the roughness is not due to those Timberliners. I think they vibrate too much. BTW, when you ride Hurricane, sit in the back row while someone with long hair sits in the front. It's fricking hilarious to watch during the weird transitions.
HELL YEAH. Rode it back in 2022 it was the worst roller coaster I’ve ever done. Which is a shame because I agree that the layout is awesome. I’m looking forward to it being finished.
I rode this last summer without knowing anything about it beforehand. I had a massive headache after the first drop. I haven't hurt that bad in my life.
Hey Taylor, how’s it going. Been a fan of your channel since 2015. Interesting to see Mind Blower is getting an RMC retrack. I was thinking GCI and their titan track but I guess RMC could fix this ride EDIT: Just rewatched the POV clip and noticed that the train looked like it was shaking throughout the layout (especially during the inversion)
I'm sure the inversion will 100% be replaced, other than that, I'd just have to guess it'll be high-stress sections like the bottom of drops and airtime hills.
That is Portaventura south of Barcelona, Spain! We have many videos about Portaventura on our channel, just type in the parks name into the search bar on our channel home page to browse our collection of videos :)
maybe Fun Spot got a good deal on the retrack because they bought Arie Force One. sort of how sometimes Cedar Fair will sign multi ride deals with manufacturers. could you do an in depth video explaining the difference between the retrack track and the I Box track other than I Box is for new coasters and reprofiled coasters because both tracks kinda look the same to me
Rode this when it first opened and it was so smooth! Visited last September and omg it was like a completely different ride!! It was sooooo painful! 😭🤦♂️ let’s hope this fixes it!
They were too light to make it consistently over the course. They ran too slow. Voyage is tearing the PTC trains apart due to the extreme forces of Voyage. Boardwalk Bullet and Ravine Flyer II have the same problem, but not as bad. Their PTC trains need frequent work. I like Tmberliners, a lot, but it is entirely possible they might have a design flaw that causes GG coasters to become rough too quickly. Theoretically they're engineered to take extreme twists effectively, but they're new, and just might have problems that cause premature roughness.
@@crooked-halo So if they were too light I genuinely think that might be their overall issue. They bounce around too much because the train is too light to hug the track
RMC Retracks might be up there trying to compete with GCI Titan retracks, it's cool how they are trying RMC for this and original tried Titan Track for White Lightning.
I personally loved Mine Blower felt it had Great forces, Airtime, Pacing and layout, however it was hampered by the roughness. Honestly sounds an awful lot like Grand National at Blackpool Pleasure Beach now I know that's 88 years old but still that has Great Forces, Airtime, Pacing and Layout as well yet it is rough.
I think that any wood framed coaster with steal track is a hybrid coaster. It doesn't matter if the steel track is just a small section or the entire ride. I don't think you should call a coaster a steel coaster unless both the supports and track are steel.
I don’t think anyone can understand how happy I am. It was so rough that I didn’t even want to ride it. It also has a great layout and will probably be top 10 in FL when this happens.
Yeah, the ride wasn't smooth. But I can't help but love how insane the roughness made it. I rode it 12 times in a row last January (you guys were at the park with us) and was absolutely blown away by it (no pun intended lol) With that being said though I definitely do understand why they're doing this... I would assume most people were put off by the roughness of the ride (like Sarah, who filmed us on the ride 🤣)
Hopefully, Mineblower stands as an unfortunate reminder to manufacturers and park owners that the weather HAS to be a concern when building a ride. I firmly believe Florida's heat and humidity just ruin wooden coasters, Ala Gwazi, and other victims as well. I think even though people love Florida for whatever reason and want it to continue to have all-star coasters, wooden coasters just shouldn't be built in Florida if this is going to keep happening. This ride has now basically negated whatever profits Fun Spot America hoped to gain off of Arieforce One, and pretty much all because of Florida; the ride most likely would not have been as harsh elsewhere. It's unfortunate for the company.
Boardwalk Bullet endures hotter temps, higher humidity & constant saltwater spray. It runs PTC trains that don't track as well as Timberliners. It also has wood structure and is much more twisted and aggressive than Mine Blower, yet it hasn't had extreme problems. Same with Santa Cruz Giant Dipper, Coney Cyclone, Swamp Fox & others.
I'd rather them keep it primarily wooden gravity group. But it has gotten increasingly rough and I hope on some of the wilder areas like the first double up in particular get the rmc railing, and some other sections. Just don’t neuter it too bad like Lightning Rod and I’ll be happy. That GG layout is sooooo good, glad it’s hear to stay
Lightning Rod was neutered by the weaker launch. Mine Blower could only be neutered by trim brakes. The steel track might actually make it go faster.

I can’t wait for white lighting to get a rmc!
Now if only someone would do something about that super rough Desperado out there in Primm Nevada...
Hopefully its a full retrack!
Damn Sarah, tell us how you really feel! 😅 (Btw i actually appreciate her unfiltered thoughts about coasters)
Sarah's right all 3 parks will be touched by RMC. ArieForce One in Atlanta, Mine Blower At Kissimmee, and a shiny new Larson Giga Loop at Orlando!
LFG i'm so excited for this!
Finally this coaster won't be rough anymore
Dear Six Flags Great America, please do a 208 to American Eagle, it's a ruffff ride!
Road this the first year it opened and went on it probably 5 times before I left. Was an amazing woody.

I loved how rough it was
One fun fact is that Fun Spot is literally stated on their website that Mine Blower is "Temporarily Down for RMC Maintenance"
I wonder how long it will be closed. Hoping it will be open late June.
Got my 3 rides on mine blower Dec. 30, 2021. No place to park, fun spot is packed...all 3 of my rides on mine blower were walk ins.
Intel from a person with connections says it is indeed a full retrack!
Rode this when it first opened and it was so smooth! Visited last September and omg it was like a completely different ride!! It was sooooo painful! 😭🤦♂️ let’s hope this fixes it!
rode it last summer! hurt like hell... was a credit and forget it for me.
RMC built Zadra in 8 months even dealing with strong winds that damaged the structure, I think tracking this tiny coaster in one month is possible
Hoping for full retrack Taylor, fingers crossed

The coaster that needs rmc is Hoosier Hurricane it reminds me of white lighting but rougher.

I preferred White Lightning over Mine Blower when I visited both parks in 2020.
I’d give Mine Blower another chance once RMC modifies it.

It’s still wooden track that has to be maintained, and it’s pretty similar to their normal track. Obviously smoother than Mine Blower but when it wears off in the Florida sun it won’t be as cheap to replace
I _wish_ they went with GG track, because it'd still be a wood coaster. Now it'll be a steel coaster.
I hope Mt Olympus adds this track to Hades 360
I don’t have high hopes for Gravity Group’s Leviathan at SeaWorld Gold Coast aging well. Luckily RMC can come to the rescue if/when the time arrives.
ITS ALIVE!!!!
Don't you think this will ruin the out of control feeling? You said Hades would be worse if it was perfectly smooth, Gravity Groups need to be rough to feel that intensity.
It's definitely possible. It will be interesting to see.
Boardwalk Bullet, a Gravity Group coaster, is one of the most intense I've ever ridden. Yet it tracks extremely well without roughness, potholes, jerks or shimmies. With PTC trains, that aren't designed for extreme twists. Voyage and Ravine Flyer II, also Gravity Group coasters, are similar, not rough but very out-of-control and intense.
I mean the ride was never known for being smooth even when it opened. It’s good to maybe see it become a smooth ride.
I think BGT should get a gravity group wooden coaster that is completly pre cut track.
Omg does every wooden coaster have to have an RMC steel conversion
RMC must do retracks on every gravity group coaster.
Interesting that Fun Spot is now going with RMC for their retracting considering that White Lightning received the GCI titan track 🤔
Imagine putting GCI/Skyline Titan track on a Gravity Group though. I think that would be even more controversial than RMC 208 on Gravity Group.
I mean, RMC gave them ArieForce One. And Titan Track is relatively new while I-Box is proven technology. Makes sense they'd opt for RMC this time.
1:14 you know who else means business Taylor?
I’m genuinely surprised Fun Spot didn’t go with Gravity Group to retrack their own coaster like they did for White Lightning.
208 track is designed to work with current trains
So does this count as a new credit? 🤔
Yes, if it's a 100% re-track, it turns a wood coaster into a steel coaster.
I marathoner mind blower in 2019 rode it 10 times in a row

I wasn't even sure track like this would fit on the ride, also Gravity Group is not going to be happy
People are blaming the Florida humidity and maintenance for Mine Blower. What do we blame Hades 360s insane roughness on? Obviously not Gravity Group.
Mount Olympus being a dogs**t park.
Hopefully this stuff works because this track did not work on tremors that ride rides worse than hades 360 and pre retrack apocalypse and ghost rider
